Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

Mailchimp is our mass email system. Anytime we want an email to go to our list from the organization instead of an individual, we use Mailchimp. Mailchimp solves the problems of email management, weeding out incorrect emails, and sending emails to large lists at once. We also really appreciate the reporting features to see how our email is performing, and how we can improve in the future.
  • Reporting
  • Weeding out incorrect emails
  • Identifying users who are most engaged.
  • Easy to customize design
  • I would like to be able to have more audience filter options. For example sending to two tags/segments at once instead of just one.
  • The larger the list you have, the more expensive the program is.
  • It is a good ROI for us in terms of reporting and email management.
  • It saves us lots of time by using templates and duplicating previous emails.
I have not tried out any other programs like Mailchimp. I inherited this program and I have been happy with it, so I have not shopped around.
I think that it is very user-friendly. It has a lot of customizable features but you can also keep it pretty simple and it will still work well.
We have used and enjoyed the ability to post on social media to complement the email blast. We have not really utilized any other additional features.
It has been very successful in spreading information efficiently and keeping track of email lists while weeding out bad addresses and not allowing any good ones to be forgotten. I have learned that you need to be very careful about the timing of the emails and to not use the time zone feature when you also have a social post attached, because the social post always goes out too early.
I think it would probably be good for any organization, but I think Mailchimp is especially well-suited for small organizations that don't have a lot of time to fool around with emails. It is easy to use and the templates are great! Our 5-person team can easily handle the setup and implementation! I can't think of a good example of when it would be less appropriate.

Using Mailchimp

1 - Promotion, Marketing, and keeping our stakeholders informed
I don't really understand the question. We are a 5 person organization so I am the only one who really does anything in Mailchimp. Others of my staff help provide content and get people signed up for our mailing list.
  • Promotion of events
  • Sharing information with stakeholders
  • To follow up with contacts made at conferences
  • To create posts for social media with a link through to more content
  • To send out surveys
  • To keep everyone informed
We are happy and content with Mailchimp. We don't have a ton of time to try out new programs, so we like to stick with what we know.

I am very happy with Mailchimp. I was also not involved in the initial selection process so I have nothing to change
