NetSuite is a best in class cloud base ERP solution for small to medium size companies. Cracks start to show in the software as business leaders have tried to add new features to make it a 360 solution. New features such as SuiteHR are often half-baked and seem to be used more in sales and media to prop up the stock price of Oracle (especially before acquisition)

Do you think NetSuite ERP delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with NetSuite ERP's feature set?

Yes

Did NetSuite ERP live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of NetSuite ERP go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy NetSuite ERP again?

Yes

Best in class could based ERP solution for small to medium size companies
Customer support tries to very helpful. However, quality of support has gone down since the acquisition and implementation of ACS as more and more customers are being pushed to this subscription support service
Companies under approximately 5,000 employees, it can handle pretty much everything you need out of the box. Any company over 5,000 that still plans on using many best-in-class solutions instead of the many out of the box NetSuite solutions. Additionally, if a company is not ready to move to the cloud.

Using NetSuite ERP

150 - Finance and accounting teams
2 - Problem solvers who are willing to dive in, troubleshoot, and continue to learn
  • GL Accounting
  • GL Reporting
  • Expense Tracking
  • Uploading GL through web services
  • Asset Management
  • Analytics
I've done a reimplementaiton of Oracle EBS, and as NetSuite knows, the cost to switch to a new ERP is crazy big, especially for a public company. Also, no need currently to change

Evaluating NetSuite ERP and Competitors

  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
Reliability, and ease of use

NetSuite ERP Implementation

I was not part of the implementation, but do not agree with some of the subsidiary structure that was decided upon

NetSuite ERP Training

I had prior training and experience before joining my company. Having a sandbox environment to mess up in is key

Configuring NetSuite ERP

With SuiteBundles, SuiteScript, Workflows, and Web Services, configuration is basically limitless
Get a good 3rd party implementation partner and also bring on other users with netsuite experience as they have gone through the ups and downs of the system
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code - Pretty easy to do. Features that were requested by the finance and accounting teams
SuiteBundles and Workflows are clutch

NetSuite ERP Support

Yes, to get better and more timely support
Yes - It remained open for about 4 years before finally getting resolved. I do not know if NetSuite considers that timely or not. (Hint, I laughed and don't think reporting bugs is that great of an option if you want a timely resolution)
Yes, when I showed up to SuiteWorld after being one of the first customers to implement ASC 606 and when asking direct questions in meetings, I was given multiple phone numbers of people so I wouldn't keep asking questions

Using NetSuite ERP

NetSuite ERP Reliability

Best in class cloud based ERP for small to medium size companies
Uptime is super reliable as evidence by the trust site
Only complex reports take a long time to run, and often the solution is to run in the background and have it emailed to you

Integrating NetSuite ERP

Some integrations that use SuiteBundle take all of the guesswork out of the actual integration
Suitebundles, or 3rd party integration tool. Overall, integration was pretty easy to achieve
  • Kyriba
  • Concur
Concur does. Kyriba has a suitebundle as well
  • Single Signon
  • API (e.g. SOAP or REST)
  • AppExchange or similar marketplace
Trust 1st party suitebundles, and if they don't offer their own bundle, then that should be considered a red flag

Relationship with NetSuite

I was not a part of the sales process. Since moving to Oracle though, pricing and room to maneuver with the pricing has changed (harder)
Once you land a deal, any vendor then wants to expand. However, they also know that it's hard to leave so they keep that in mind during renewal time
Have to have another option to negotiate against

Upgrading NetSuite ERP

Yes - Yes. NetSuite has the upgrade down, and no issues
