Overall Satisfaction with Procore

Procore is allowing my company to manage multiple projects across the State of Alaska, most of which you can not drive to or even get to in a day. We've had contractors working in multiple locations for years and all of us are able to maintain the most current documents and stay up to date on the daily operations. This connectivity is maximizing project communication and reducing costs from needing to travel.
  • Drawing updating and posting.
  • Financial planning.
  • Communication.
  • Capital Planning: need a cash flow module to show how each cost line item will be spent so you can forecast your pay apps and owners can prep for future payments.
  • More customization dashboards on startup. For multiple projects, unless you are a GC, these are not helpful.
I have used PMWEB, PROLOG, and Oracle, but Procore is by far the most user-friendly and captures more features for a reasonable cost. All of the rest have the power to do more, but cost exponentially more and don't offer the user-friendly interface that Procore does.
We are able to coordinate a team in five separate towns almost immediately.

Once the entire package of applications is utilized the streamlining of data is remarkable. From tracking an RFI or Change through the Change order and closeout process to just making sure the right sheets are being used day to day.
Most of my team had no project software experience and they are proficient. The training is easy to understand and apply.
This product was deployed across 15 projects, some ongoing. My entire team was proficient within a year. Not sure how we manged before.

We have never been more organized on our projects. Meetings are more efficient, documents are shared faster, answers to questions are faster. Everything just moves smoother.

Evaluating Procore and Competitors

Yes - Excel and MS Office - we are building $51M of capital projects this year alone and continuing that investment. Having a tailored program was a necessity and is paying dividends.

The ability to train someone in a day to navigate an then be proficient in a month on the job is the reason i chose procore.

That and the drawing app. Having the most current set shared is a dream
You have to really know how you want to manage the a project.

Procore Implementation

Have your leadership team meet with implementation seperatly a few times to ensure the right direction is being taken, then follow up with end users on functionality.
Change management was a major issue with the implementation - we were not in control of change orders. By the time we were caught up, we had over spent. Now we know where the budget lands with each CO
