Considered Multiple Products
Amazon Route 53
Chose Amazon Route 53
We chose Amazon Route 53 over Azure DNS for its advanced routing, built-in health checks, and seamless integration with AWS services like EC2, ALB, and CloudFront. Amazon Route 53 also supports domain registration and automated failover, which Azure DNS lacks natively. Its …
Chose Amazon Route 53
We didn't test any other product like Amazon Route 53, we were doing all these settings by ourselves.
Chose Amazon Route 53
We purchased our domain names through Networksolutions.com and do rely on their DNS services for basic functionality (SPF hard reject records, etc.), since it was included at no cost; however, for our main domains, we utilize Route 53 because of AWS's high availability, …
Chose Amazon Route 53
Amazon is priced higher than Google's DNS, but since our gear (Cloudfront, ALB, etc) is in AWS, Amazon Route 53 is easier to use sop we don't have to manage two vendors.
Chose Amazon Route 53
Cloudflare is also similar in the features to Route 53. However, since we are completely hosted on the AWS cloud, we can't use Cloudflare for configuring our internal networks, and integrating with the other services. The API based integration of AWS via Terraform is another …
Chose Amazon Route 53
This was the POC that was done during the initial stage but we never put this in production
Chose Amazon Route 53
Amazon Route 53 DNS service is much better than GCP and Azure or any other cloud provider DNS service due to the fact that it not only provides basic DNS service but on top of it it offers firewall DNS feature i.e. rules and policies can be defined to allow/reject certain …
Chose Amazon Route 53
Since we are heavy users of AWS, it was only natural for us to go with Route53. It's well integrated with other AWS services, and domain creation and modifications can get automated with the infrastructure itself, with tools like terraform.
We also use Cloudfront and ALBs …
Chose Amazon Route 53
Amazon Route 53 is intended for simple websites that host HTML5 or static content. This is probably the default solution if you need something simple and don't want to rent a web server to host a website. It is good to host full functional but simple website or HTML5 game.
Chose Amazon Route 53
Kinda of costly and doesn't have many services which Amazon is able to offer. And Route 53 is slightly faster than it.
Chose Amazon Route 53
When working with AWS, Route 53 is hands down the better solution. If you live in GCP, then Google Cloud DNS is the way to go. GoDaddy is more of a consumer-facing product and is perfectly fine when Services are not being utilized in any Cloud Environment. Eventually, all of …
Chose Amazon Route 53
Route 53 is one of those essential services that you'll inevitably come across. It's one of the easiest to understand and configure in AWS, and using it is helpful if you're making use of any other components in the AWS ecosystem because most other components will …
Chose Amazon Route 53
I only compared to BIND, as we intend to migrate to AWS as soon as possible.
Chose Amazon Route 53
Both Azure DNS and GoDaddy's DNS works great, but when you use AWS services and infrastructure, it is much easier to use AWS DNS service. Using AWS DNS service you can manage and maintain your infrastructure in one place, it saves some time. If you use AWS services, you can …
Chose Amazon Route 53
GoDaddy is fine if you just want to have a domain and set up a few simple records. But if part of your business is transferring domains and constantly updating records for new websites, email changes, and security, then a registrar-based DNS service just won't cut it. Route 53 …
Chose Amazon Route 53
Infoblox is the one we used on premises and briefly looked at for AWS. Route 53 however is well suited for our needs and was easier to implement. As AWS was already new for use, learning Route 53 anew made no difference in selecting it.
Chose Amazon Route 53
CloudFlare has been good for anything external facing, but Route53 has met our needs perfectly for anything internal.
Chose Amazon Route 53
Route 53 is head and shoulders above GoDaddy. GoDaddy's DNS availability was problematic with us earlier on and at that time we made a decision to move our domains to Route 53 under Amazon. Since then we haven't experienced any DNS outages and it has been pretty rock solid. …
Chose Amazon Route 53
Route53 was used because I initially thought we were going to have our infrastructure on AWS. Once our team transitioned to Google Cloud, I was left scrambling to migrate our DNS solution to point to those servers instead. Because there is a mandatory 45-day transfer wait …
Chose Amazon Route 53
I have experience running several on-site DNS services such as PowerDNS, djbdns, bind, and others. Route 53 removes the need to manage the server and DNS software, allowing you to focus on the DNS content itself.
iContact
Chose iContact
PosterMyWall is used for the design of social media, flyers, websites, and printing purposes. We previously used PosterMyWall for email campaigns, but it was standard and time-consuming. This is why we made the switch to iContact, for more effection and a way to reach potential …

ClickDimensions was more comprehensive but buggy and not stable. We lost a lot of data which negated the benefits. iContact doesn't do as much but is stable and reliable. ClickDimensions support was awful. iContact support has been fine for us. ClickDimensions assigned us …

Sendinblue, Mailchimp, Sumo.
We're moving to Sendinblue because it was better priced with better features. Sumo is more bit more geared towards building email lists -- although it fails miserably because it cannot accurately report #contact or visits to your site. Mailchimp …
Chose iContact
In my opinion, MailChimp is the top contender to iContact and really gives them a run for their money. MailChimp offers users more features, and costs less. Of course, they both have their advantages and disadvantages. Overall, it is a tough decision to make between the two, …
Chose iContact
iContact is more fancier in that you can add pictures, change font types & sizes, etc. Infinite Campus is more for just sending emails to all your students. I still use Infinite Campus but like iContact more.
Chose iContact
iContact and Constant Contact are very similar products, however I prefer the iContact interface. Mailchimp may have more features but is harder to train users who are not familiar with email campaigns.
Chose iContact
I haven't used other products for the same features that iContact offers, but I have used products like Mailchimp which sends out massive emails or postcards and such. Personally, I prefer iContact because you're able to personalize it and have the ability to send the emails …
Chose iContact
More versatile and less restrictive regarding content. I tried Constant Contact first and quickly became frustrated and was happy to find iContact.
Chose iContact
We selected iContact because it was available at the time, and in our price range. I inherited it at the school. If it had been the program it is now back then, I would not have chosen it. At the moment, we are too busy to fully vet another program, so we are stuck with this …
Chose iContact
I didn't actually choose iContact, it was already implemented when I started working for the company. I haven't looked too deeply into switching because it works for our needs right now. I would love to find another service with more customization and surveys included, but …

iContact's inbox deliverability is better than that of Infusionsoft.
iContact's marketing automation abilities are not as good as Infusionsoft.
iContact's tagging and list managements functionality are not as good as Infusionsoft.
Chose iContact
We converted from Lyris to iContact years ago and enjoy the analysis features iContact provides over Lyris.
Chose iContact
iContact was the solution in use when I entered the organization. I have heard very good things about MailChimp and Constant Contact, the other two big names in this field. We have chosen to remain with iContact since then, but would be open to moving. However, it is fulfilling …
Chose iContact
I have personally used MailChimp and Constant Contact. Plus, a back-end WordPress plug-in that I've since forgotten the name of as well as Active.com's email platform.
Chose iContact
IContact offered more flexibility, the ability to designate more users in different departments, and better-looking templates. The ability to ask for support and customized templates is also a key, and their account manager is available to respond to issues, offer advice, etc. …
Chose iContact
Robly has the ability to send at the time when they expect that there is a user going to open. However, iContact is much more professional in their support and having a dedicated account manager who has a grasp on the latest in e-mail marketing was a primary reason we select …
Chose iContact

Chose iContact
I plan to use MailChimp going forward. I understand from trusted colleagues that it is as good as IContact and FREE.
Chose iContact
We are no longer using iContact, but if you were comparing them to Constant contact, Mail Chimp, etc. then go with one of those, their software is more current and they have better analytics, but will still be in the cheaper price bracket. Currently, we are using our ESP, …

Mailchimp has the best deliverability of all the email marketing software I've used, and the most customizable design features.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
These platforms have feature sets that are much better suited to B2B marketing than Intuit Mailchimp. In particular, the journey builders seem much better suited to long and complex business-to-business buying cycles like ours.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Intuit Mailchimp was far superior than Constant Contact. Also it was more affordable.

Afterwards, Intuit Mailchimp could not keep up with a full CRM like Highlevel.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
When we switched long time ago from Constant Contact it was because Mailchimp demonstrated more innovative features to be adapted in our communications. At that time Constant Contact it was too limited and it was constructed mainly to send bulk emails. So when we saw what …

Chose Intuit Mailchimp
We did not select this as we are happy with Intuit Mailchimp and this platform did not seem to be an upgrade for us.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp is the gold standard currently for email campaigns.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
The pricing and features for Mailchimp beat constant contact hands-down.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Intuit Mailchimp is more affordable, scalable for all team sizes, has a shorter SMS registration approval timeframe, integrates with more platforms, and doesn't require training to get started.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp's email marketing is vastly superior to Bloomerang CRM or Fundraising (formerly Qgiv) but Mailchimp will integrate seemlessly to Bloomerang, so every email sent to a constituent will be recorded as a transaction. The email design blocks are much cleaner and easier to …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Constant Contact was overpriced and Action Network worked poorly.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
It's been years since I used Hootsuite and I used it to schedule posts on our social media channels. I do not need to use Intuit Mailchimp for this.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I think it’s so much nicer than Active Campaign on every level.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
We went back to Flodesk due to their services being much more cost effective. We send emails to tens of thousands of people at a time, and we only pay $35/month for Flodesk
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I used constant contact years ago like 15-20... so Im unusre, I did not take the time to learn Intuit Mailchimp I hired someone.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
The user functionally is way better but we keep them on our list of CRM items due to the call features.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
We ended up going with Intuit Mailchimp because of the templates and the pricing. While we didn’t actually use Constant Contact, just looking through it, Intuit Mailchimp seems much easier to use as well.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
My business was not allowed on other SMS services. The ridiculous rules the others have to deal with make it difficult to send anything for tactical training. It is used by many other businesses I know, so it seemed trustworthy. I don't like using services I have never heard of.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
We do not use other programs and have not used other programs for this.

- Routing users to the closest or best-performing resources: Route 53 allows you to use geolocation and latency-based routing to route users to the resources that will give them the best performance. - Load balancing: Route 53 can be used to distribute incoming traffic across multiple resources, such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances or Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) tasks, to improve the availability and scalability of your application. - Managing domain names: Route 53 can be used to register domain names and manage DNS records, making it a one-stop solution for managing your domain name and routing traffic to your resources. Scenarios where Route 53 is less appropriate include:Applications with very high query rates: Route 53 is designed to handle millions of queries per second, but if your application generates an extremely high query rate, you may need to use a specialized DNS service.Applications that require very low latency: Route 53 is designed to provide low-latency DNS service, but if your application requires ultra-low latency, you may need to use a specialized DNS service or a self-hosted DNS solution.Applications that require advanced security features: Route 53 provides basic security features such as DNSSEC, but if your application requires advanced security features such as DDoS protection, you may need to use a specialized DNS service.

iContact is a great option for small businesses. It doesn't have enough features to create the demands of a large corporation. Of course the price goes up exponentially with more subscribers, which would also make it beneficial for small businesses. If you have too many lists to add people to it can get a little crazy too.

It allows you to reach out to our customer base and discuss updates, sales, education, and much more. I am grateful to have reached out to them and to have gained brand loyalty in the process. It helps us truly connect, not just sell. I can segment my audiences and decide who I want to send communications to.

Pros
  • We can purchase our domain through Route 53 and can be hosted for cheaper prices in AWS.
  • There are many number of routing policies you can go ahead with and this will come into picture when the customer satisfaction is required at most, so choose routing policy accordingly.
  • As usual health checks are part of DNS systems, this is also provided at cheaper rates when total process is done in Route 53 service.
  • It can be used as standalone application from AWS

  • Customer service is wonderful! They are always helpful, guiding and available for any odd question, even if those questions are training for a newbie to the email world.
  • Building forms for data collection and the code generator the for the site is very easy.
  • Ensuring double opt-in is extremely straightforward.
  • Including unsubscribe on every message automatically means we never have to worry about CAN-SPAM.

  • Mailchimp allows you to manage your mailing list really well. You can subscribe people, unsubscribe people manage the mailing list directly into segments, and what not.
  • Mailchimp has features where you can create campaigns based on your mailing lists and send out newsletters to your subscribers based on a multitude of parameters that you can setup. Such as send email daily, weekly, monthly and they also have event based mails that you can send out.
  • Mailchimp also has a feature where you can design your emails. The look and aesthetics are very important when sending emails to your subscribers and all those needs are addressed here.

Cons
  • Price, it is not expensive ... but you can find some cheaper and even free DNS solutions.
  • If you use non-AWS infrastructure, Route 53 doesn't have significant advantages on other services.
  • AWS Route 53 does not support forwarding or conditional forwarding options for domains used on an on-premise network.

  • Every time you edit or sometimes open an email it brings it to the top of the list. I would prefer my email to go to the top only after I send it out to my subscribers.
  • When I add a new contact I sometimes copy and paste the email. This is not allowed sometimes and I have to manually type the email in.
  • LinkedIn will not allow you to add pictures anymore when sending emails out.

  • The pricing tiers do scale quickly so if you have a free newsletter it may get expensive
  • The pricing is based on total emails so if you have users who you only email rarely it might not make sense to use Intuit Mailchimp
  • Customer support can be a bit lacking at times and their docs aren't always the best

After 4 years of using iContact we finally cut the cord. It was hard to justify staying with them when it seemed like they had some of the most outdated software in the industry, some of the worst deliverability, and were in general extremely lacking in customization. They are a decent ESP for a great price point, so if that is your main concern it may be worth it, but if you want to have your emails you are paying for hit inboxes (not spam folders) then look into someone else that guarantees great deliverability.

We love the product. One thing we haven't mentioned yet is the human element. Recently, MailChimp re-structured their plans/pricing based on the feedback they had received. They listened to a pain their users were experiencing, then strategized a solution, and implemented it fairly. The updated pricing strategy was intended to save subscribers money, and they did a great job of communicating it to their users. I would be surprised if anyone reacted negatively to the change.

You need to know what DNS is; this is a tool built for developers who already know the technology and are just looking for a DNS management tool. The tool is very usable given that. If you're not familiar with DNS, Route53 isn't really for you and you won't find it to be very usable-- you'll need to go read the documentation, and that will start with learning what DNS is

I rate iContact as an easy to use program due to its user friendly dashboard and user interface. Most companies of small to medium size do not have a dedicated marketer, therefore it is someone multitasking who may or may not have this kind of experience. iContact makes it relatively simple and can actually expand one's knowledge in the area of business promotion.

Until today, I have never needed support to Route53 because the documentation is great. But, I have needed it for other services. And they're near perfect always. Except that they don't have Portuguese support yet and they're sometimes slow to answer (48 hours in non-critical ones, in two tickets). But usually, they're amazing!

Cloudflare is also similar in the features to Route 53. However, since we are completely hosted on the AWS cloud, we can't use Cloudflare for configuring our internal networks, and integrating with the other services. The API based integration of AWS via Terraform is another factor that allows us to automate most of our deployments and manage them programmatically

Well, Intuit Mailchimp's reporting is better, and ActiveCampaign has more affordable pricing, so in the end, it all comes to what you need. What we needed was available in cheaper price in other software as well. But I would definitely say Intuit Mailchimp has its own advantages too.

Scalability

iContact stays the same with the number of users added or taken away. It certainly remains reliable despite increased usage, and so, can be considered scaleable in that aspect.

Mailchimp over the years I've used it has grown in leaps and bounds. They have added so many additional features than were previously available. They are truly an all-in-one marketing platform now. If you're a small operation and just want to add email to your marketing efforts, they're there for you. If you're a larger operation and want to start sending postcard advertisements, they can do that. If you'd good with that and want to kick up your marketing by going social, you can do that on their platform. They are truly able to be as small as you need, but also get quite large in whatever it is you'd like to do through their system.

  • Domain Reputation - if you aren't careful, it is very easy to hurt your domain reputation when using iContact. Make sure the person in charge of email marketing knows the risks of email marketing or is willing to closely work with iContact's customer service to follow best practices.
  • Increased Lead Conversion - through the use of automated email functionality, you can stay in the forefront of your customer's minds. This increases conversions by reminding customers that you are there to provide the goods or services that they may need periodically or in the future.

  • One of my retail web store clients was sending out email specials and notices about once a month. After clicking the send button, we would watch Google Analytics and the current site users would light up immediately. Often, the current site visitors would pop up to 20, 30 or more after the email was sent. On a normal day, seeing 1 or 2 online users would be OK.
  • Pretty much in all cases, we could see an uptick in positive activity after sending out a Intuit Mailchimp email to a list.
