Virtual Event
Comparison of Virtual Event features of Product A and Product B
We're a nonprofit organization so we have a very lean time, labor, and money so the super easy self-explanatory nature makes it easy for our team to admin an event. The simple UI [of Eventbrite] keeps our focus on the event and avoids any headache-inducing tech hurdles. There're just enough user roles to handle multi-staffer admin. A less appropriate situation is an event that is huge in complexity with a custom workflow and processing which Eventbrite's not built to handle in-house such as multi-step registration, multiple item and category all-select options during registration, multi-event type (not just physical or ticket but virtual goods tracking), more HootSuite-like social media refinery, etc.
Shailja Rohillah, of Omnify, went above and beyond to respond quickly and did everything she could to accommodate my needs. Even when the exact thing I wanted, was not an option, Shailija not only found a work around but put the time in herself to address my need.
The capability to check in customers using a simple phone app allows offloading a lot of box office tasks to unskilled ushers and volunteers. It's just circumspect for all our ticketing needs.
Event management--providing a detailed description of the event (date, time, place) plus details of the event (speakers, topic, sponsors, etc.)
Registrations--provides enough details about people who register, and tools to manage those registrations (add people manually who didn't pre-register, cancel orders, check-in of attendees)
Event promotion--events created using Eventbrite can be found by searching Eventbrite for local events
Thundertix is a WONDERFUL price that allows us to sell more tickets and increase our profits. The pricing of Thundertix is lower cost than anything else in the market.
Thundertix is always innovating and adding to features relevant to the current market.
Thundertix has great customer service, especially if you are willing to pay the premium price for over the phone customer support.
I'd like to see Eventbrite add more customization to the event page layout. It would be nice to be able to differentiate our event through more specific design.
I've had occasional problems with email formatting in the Eventbrite email builder. It would be nice to have a slightly more trustworthy builder.
Other than those two things, I think Eventbrite does exactly what it needs to do.
We would love to have more specific options for restricting the number of times a client can book a reservation per week.
It would be very beneficial for admins to be able to book clients in advance for classes that are not available to the mass clientele yet.
We would like to be able to edit client's email addresses. Several of our members have typos in the emails provided, so they aren't receiving confirmation emails and they can't log in, so they have to make new accounts.
For the money, I honestly don't have a single critique. Some of the larger companies offer a few more features, but we believe that most of those bells and whistles are not worth a significant increase in price.
Our venue is a 160 seat venue. Thundertix is ideal for this. I do not know how Thundertix would translate to a 15,000 venue. It is not what we deal with. We are involved in some higher ticket events, but those are all General Admission so I do not have to deal with 15,000 reserved seats.
Excellent platform and easy to use to create events. Eventbrite sets the standard for simple, effective and safe ticketing platforms. Our customers trust Eventbrite and we've always done well when we use this platform for ticketing. They have recently updated some of the virtual connectivity tools which make it even easier to set up and promote virtual events.
Great platform with so many incredible features. It streamlines workflow, communication, messaging, and analyzing data. I know of no other platform that can do what Eventbrite can do for the price or user-friendliness. They also offer great support for new users and integrate well with other platforms (i.e., social media and Sched).
I'd give it a 10 except it didn't always render well on mobile devices, which caused some frustration for users. Otherwise it was easy to use, easy to manage, easy to make it look like "our" site, and very pleasant.
It's straightforward and, for the most part, easy to use and navigate. When there is an issue or problem that arises, support is usually very helpful in navigating us in the right direction. It keeps everything in order and on track, and is easy to use when trying to track down a client or previous purchases, which is important to our company
I haven't yet needed to contact customer support, but the information provided next to the various features has been exceptionally helpful. This info is located just to the right of most options, and it provides answers to frequently asked questions. At this point, that information has been enough to keep me from having to contact anyone.
Omnify's customer service has been pretty much always on point. Their chat feature is a great way to keep track of past communications and follow up on recurrent issues, and their response time is most of the times very quick.
They are quick to respond to both calls and email. They also have a robust online set of documentation and tools that offer the possibility of finding your own answer. But, even if you don't use it, ThunderTix never asks the "did you check our online resources" questions. They never complain about emails or calls. They are there to help and do a fantastic job!
Just jump in, don't over thinking it, doing it will net the very few basic questions you'll have. There's not much complexity so one doesn't need to plan as if moving a canal. It's as simple as can be.
My "go to" for event registration has always been Constant Contact because they don't charge additional processing fees above the standard transaction. If it's a more basic event where I just need to capture name, email, and payment, I'll continue to use Constant Contact over Eventbrite. However, if it's more complex and requires marketing, I would choose Eventbrite.
Before Omnify we used Jumbula. Jumbula made registering families much easier but Omnify has the benefit of auto-renew and auto-pay plus the membership set up in general is something new that Omnify provides. We have also used Formsite in the past but it requires a bit more administrative back end work for our employees than Omnify does.
AudienceView has some of the oldest and least efficient user interfaces I have ever seen. Theres 5 different websites for the same account to access different things that are all interlinked and need to be accessed together. Ticket Spice charges a higher per ticket cost for most ticket price ranges. ThunderTix is a flat rate while ticket spice is a percentage.
A dedicated URL for each event has been easy to use for tying events to editorial content, promotion and marketing.
For ticketed events, it has been an easy -to-use system without requiring a lot of training on a complicated technology. It is also competitively priced for transaction management.
Whether we have discovered any Eventbrite users via the Eventbrite site promotion, we appreciate it as a recommendation of our event for like-minded event attendees.
My ROI is calculated by customer satisfaction and Omnify allowed us to operate three community pools during a pandemic, making those that wanted to use community amenities able to do so in a measured and safe way.
