Laserfiche is well suited to the submission of simple routine reports to create a record repository. We use it for routine transport reports, audit reports, and anonymous citizen complaints. It creates a simple chronological record of routine events that can be reviewed and easily stored and recalled. Because the reports are in PDF format, it is not well suited to anything that needs to be imported into a common database or amended after submission.

If you want a customizable solution that can be adapted for just about any scenario, I recommend using Notion. If you need a solution that's easy to share with people outside your organization, Notion is great and allows individual or team permission-setting. If you want a turnkey solution, Notion might not be the best since it requires a fair bit of set-up. There are templates that can be purchased to handle this, but I haven't found them very helpful.

For game design - Perfect for personal notes, recipes, snippets - Perfect for storing some organized data (for example, links to resources) - Perfect for a content playground powered by AI - Very good for diagrams - Very good. Don't know any bad examples. Tool really great. Rich functionality. Especially love different views (table, graph).

    • I love that you can create nested pages, allowing for separate sections to organize information as needed.
    • I appreciate the convenience of effortlessly uploading images to any section.
    • I appreciate that when adding links, you can embed them so the website displays directly on the page.

    • The system is extremely fast. The application loads and displays data in milliseconds. This makes the system easy to work with.
    • It's also easy to edit documentation and information, as information can be editing directly without the use of an "edit" button.
    • Pricing: Loading speed, ease of use and quick editing are its main advantage that makes it stand out from competitors. Having said that, the pricing is very good as well.

    Cons
    Laserfiche
    • While Laserfiche has some powerful development tools, it is difficult to manage configurations while promoting code across environments. For example, SQL connections and other environment specific resources have to be manually configured in each environment.
    • Laserfiche forms are a newer addition to the product family and could use some product maturity. While easy to use for simple forms, once your forms become more complex, you need to accomplish tasks by heavy JavaScript coding.

    • I use Notion on my personal tablet, and unlike on the computer, I have a lot of difficulty editing backgrounds, GIFs, and page dividers. It's not as user-friendly, and often the elements end up cut off or misaligned, which is frustrating.
    • While the current calendar feature is helpful, I'd love to see more customization options. The Google Calendar style isn't always ideal, especially for tasks without specific times or for ongoing projects that require daily maintenance.
    • It would be fantastic to have more flexibility in customizing Notion pages. For example, I'd love to create planners with the freedom to add illustration boxes, stickers, or GIFs without being restricted to a fixed layout.

    • switching overe workspaces is bit tedious at the moment
    • more granular control over what users can edit inside workspace -> specific items or any item under a specific collection
    • currently its not clear who edited an item last -> footer that updates each time item has been edited and by whom
    • support for smartsheets. only because we use them ;)

Very easy to use (I learned how to use everything on my own) and I was able to set up an entire ecosystem without any courses or other tools. It has a very clean UI for me, the multiple views are so so useful, we can collaborate freely, and fast. This app helped us to grow because now we are giving our time more on generating ideas and of course getting more projects and clients giving real ROI instead of focusing on organizing files. But just like all apps out there, it has some room for improvement

    Performance
    Laserfiche
Performance, of course, is largely dependent on the underlying environment. Laserfiche does its part with multi-threading, taking advantage of multi-core servers on scanning, workflows, and bots. A SQL-Server back-end is suitable for small to medium-sized company, but may not scale to large, where Oracle would be the better choice. Workflows can be poorly written and perform recursive work slowing down the system. It's better to run batch type workflows at night when possible.

The core infrastructure of Laserfiche, and the end user experience, is vastly superior. OnBase has a TERRIBLE UI and administration console by comparison. The core architecture of OnBase is also more scattered, while all Laserfiche processes go through a single service. Overall, the Laserfiche product is easier and more intuitive to install, maintain, and use.

The company uses both Notion and Trello within the company. Notion is more for North America employees while Trello is used between Operation team overseas and in North America. Nuclino is the clear winner when it comes to ease of use for both the administrator and user. Less setup time and less "training" time. The streamlined interface is quick and intuitive to learn and is not cluttered as compared to Confluence. Every tool you need to use to create a page or administer the workspace is available immediately on screen or by right-clicking. In contrast, Confluence buries many tools in administrative interfaces and only allows use of some features once you make several clicks to include a "macro" or "plug-in". We use both tools and I get complaints constantly from my team about how complicated Confluence can get just to author a quick page.

    Return on Investment
    Laserfiche
    • Laserfiche has increased the efficiency of our sales reps by giving making all of the historical sales deal information very simple and fast to retrieve.
    • Laserfiche has increased our efficiency with our AP department and gave department heads the ability to approve invoices where ever they are.
    • I would say the biggest ROI came with the transparency of the order process for new deals. Before there would be numerous phone calls made daily to find out where an order was within the process, and now you can simply look at all deals at any time.
