Moogsoft vs. OnPage vs. PagerDuty

Moogsoft is well suited in below scenarios - 1. If you are looking for a Event Management layer tools. 2. If you are looking for event correlations, suppression and enhancement feature before opening a ticket in ITSM layer tool. 3. If you are looking for enabling corrective actions even before opening a ticket at MOM layer and AI-ML capabilities in monitoring world.

The best solution for OnPage is a small company with a small On-Call Team. The reason for this is because of how many it can trigger in a 30-minute time span. It's really good with us IT people as we understand the urgency of the call and we can react with the ticket. This gives the end-user peace of mind. This product would not be good for a large-scale company. It would not scale well for thousands of users.

To be sincere, PagerDuty is a powerful, intelligent, and dependable on-call and incident management tool that provides amazing solutions to our company. Therefore, if someone is looking for reliability and accuracy in incident management, I will not hesitate to recommend PagerDuty. It is easy to use, and it will give you value for money.

• Delivers prompt messages with important information for patient call back
• Overrides phone ring settings if needed to ensure a sound is made if desired and no pages are missed
• Repeats pages frequently if not opened initially, so they are not forgotten

• PagerDuty sends the alerts set on high severity incidents on time and never misses any single instance.
• PagerDuty help to send alert to mobile calls and Team channel for outage.
• PagerDuty also resolves some of the high severity incidents as part of self healing mechanism.

• Not really a "downside": because it works so well, any details we haven't documented from our initial setup are probably lost. It's been almost four years since our initial configuration, and I can no longer easily navigate the OnPage site because I literally haven't logged in since the initial implementation.

• When I open PagerDuty the page does look a little cluttered or busy.
• It would be nice to go to the page with clear and straightforward instructions on what I must address.
• Ability to change the color background.
• Add a timer and alarms for tasks that need completed.

It works and is reliable

They have been rock solid for us thus far and are not very expensive and to be honest no time to evaluate other software at this point.

Easy to use both web and phone based application.

The UI is more complex than I would like. Part of the challenge is that most users use PagerDuty infrequently; I don't remember how I changed a policy last time. Another part of the challenge is that some users expect alerting to be a trivial feature, and are reluctant to invest any time in reading the documentation.

When we have issues we have fast response and willingness to help

PagerDuty is reliable and easy to set up. It gives an effective way to notify the team about critical incidents which results in a faster turnaround time on issues. users can customize their alerts rules based on their preferences. Overall it's effective and easy to use which adds great business value.

Moogsoft has the similar capabilities as of SPLUNK, MuleSoft and ServiceNow however it's a unique product in terms of its internal functioning and application framework. While ServiceNow is a SaaS application Moogsoft on the other side comes with On-Prem as well as SaaS offering which gives pretty much flexibility in choosing the right solution as per the customer requirement.

OnPage is the first we chose and would not change that. The ability to link to our CSM, RMM, and technicians on the road has made this the best solution. Our team is able to use the current setup to make custom alerts based on the ticket details. This allows for all of our future needs to be covered.

OpsGenie was useful, mainly for teams already using Atlassian tools, and xMatters was good for handling team communication during incidents, but PagerDuty felt more complete for managing the full incident process in one place. We went with PagerDuty because it manages alerts, escalations, and on-call duties in a more organized and dependable way, which fits better with how our teams work daily.

• Eliminated the concern that on-call personnel were not notified of an issue at all or on a timely basis
• The reasonable cost, ease of use and reliability reassured management that any issues arising would be handled quickly
• Users disliked carrying the bulky, unreliable and battery operated pagers. Today all users carry cell phones and can easily install and manage OnPage software

• Allow our service to be available 24/7 with minimal downtime, improving customer experience
• Monitor incidents and allow us to customize/schedule alert notifications, making engineers' jobs easier and preventing turnover
• Prevent SEVs that could deteriorate, bring down our service, and cost us millions of dollars from loss in bookings
