Splashtop is a Fantastic Remote Support Tool

We have many roaming users with laptops and Windows tablets and our helpdesk and network team needed a way to easily remotely support these devices so we purchased Splashtop. Splashtop has made it incredibly easy for our teams to remote right into any Windows PC as long as they simply are connected to the internet. Before we used some software that required them to be on the VPN first, and then give us their IP address, so it was very cumbersome to assist the users and this fixed that problem.
  • Easy to use software.
  • Allows remote support of the machines even off VPN.
  • If the users make a VPN connection while we are connected, it drops the connection momentarily, It would be nice if they could somehow fix that as I know I've heard of other software that does not have that issue.
  • Would be nice if we could remotely push the client from the admin UI.
Splashtop has a great pricing model for both small and large groups so really if you have a need to support remote users with laptops/tablets, etc, I think it's well suited for anybody. It's actually kind of surprising how cheap it is and even if you have to bump up to higher tiers over time the price doesn't seem to jump that much. I think really any business needing something like this will find it cost-effective.

Splashtop Remote Support is used by our small IT department to support and remotely access computers across our institution. We use it in place of Microsoft Remote Desktop and Apple Remote Desktop. It is accessible via both our desktop computers and our mobile devices, and most recently we started using it via Chromebooks.
  • Affordable
  • Easy to use
  • Hidden from the end user
  • Responsive company
  • Need a better marketing department
  • Support for older devices could be better
  • Better defaults, such as hiding in the Windows Start menu
It's not a matter of how likely I am to recommend Splashtop, the fact is that it is the only remote support tool that I recommend. While LogMeIn and TeamViewer dominate the field, neither are affordable for small organizations. Splashtop Remote Support is trivial to use and install and has saved my organization thousands over LogMeIn.

Deployed to all desktops, Splashtop has been integral to our IT department. The ability to easily access desktops and servers as well as providing remote support to those who aren't onsite has freed up time to work on the real issues, not having to find a way to easily access desktops or drive to a remote location. A must have if you are supporting multiple users across the country.
  • Agents can be silently pushed to all client equipment, which means it is very easy to install.
  • If you don't have the ability to load the app, you can have the client log in via a website, which means multiple ways to connect.
  • The clean interface, easy to use and a breeze to set up, has you up and running in a matter of minutes.
  • The remote support option is top notch. However, I would love to see some built-in support tools like ping, traceroute, lookup, etc. available.
Splashtop is a great aid in troubleshooting computers or one-on-one training, Splashtop makes it easy to work with end users, as it takes the frustration out of trying to connect and allows you to focus on the issue at hand. While there are other ways to connect, I have found Splashtop to be stable, easily deployed, and secure. Splashtop is perfect for small to medium organizations, and while I cannot speak to large organizations the free demo would be worth trying. All in all, it is a solid product for remote administration.

We use Splashtop across all groups of our company. As we have offices in many states, in addition to short-term job site work, it is helpful to be able to connect with all of our computer users. Being able to quickly remote-in on an individual's desktop and physically show them a task is so much more effective than simply describing the issue.
  • By no means am I an IT person. That is not my role, nor my strength. However, Splashtop Remote Support is so simple to use that I have no problem sharing someone's screen and walking through issues with them.
  • Not only is it good for resolving issues that individuals are having, but it is also a simple tool to perform updates on remote machines. We have some users that use proprietary software that is very particular on its installation due to expensive licensing. With Splashtop I can install it myself, from anywhere, onto these users' machines.
  • Must stress, again, that it is simple and easy to use. You need literally no detailed computer knowledge to scroll the list of machines/desktops available and click and open them.
  • The user interface where you select the computer you want to connect to is not the most elegant thing to use. While it is effective, it is a pretty crude representation.
We have roughly 75 employees and two-thirds of them are located at offices remote from the home office; in many cases several states away. Additionally, we have shorter-term, stand-alone projects in remote sites that we send folks to. This means that if we are supporting all of these computers in many places it can be a challenge. Splashtop Remote Support lets me lend a hand to anyone, anywhere, at any time. We do have other options to share screens (Zoom meetings, etc), but the simplicity of this interface is very appealing.
