Once does not simply remote access in your business... Unless its with Splashtop.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Splashtop across our entire organization with varying purposes. Splashtop allows remote access flexibility for the entire staff, even though in-office is required most of the time. Splashtop offers a nearly 100% productivity level in emergency situations, should the office be closed from inclement weather or something similar. We have already used it to this effect, and it's highly efficient and effective. Before Splashtop, we used a competitor's remote access tool that has been around a very long time, and the performance and reliability of Splashtop vs. that old product was literally shocking for our tech committee during the proposal to switch to Splashtop. Additionally, IT utilizes Splashtop for efficient virtual server access, software/policy deployments, and emergency SOS access for out-of-office users, both on desktop devices and mobile devices. Our adoption of Splashtop has been game-changing for our organization. The ability to have reliable remote access, coupled with the more advanced Enterprise tools, has probably increased efficiency so much that it's had a direct impact on business revenue.

Pros

  • Unbelievable performance! It's so fast I tested a PC game through it just for fun, and it was incredible!
  • The increase in productivity throughout our organization has been notable. The flexibility of employees to occasionally work remotely, when needed, has been hugely beneficial.
  • Enterprise IT tools like One-to-Many actions has saved us a lot of time and headache in certain situations, such as deploying a basic MSI or script. SOS has been a saving grace for some employees to receive remote IT support in emergency situations, as well.

Cons

  • I would like to see an integration with a wider variety of antivirus XDRs. We spend a lot of money on Sophos, which is arguably the most effective product on the market. It would be nice if Splashtop and Sophos Central could work together to increase some efficiency and security.
  • It would be really great if PCs or devices could be excluded from the antivirus monitoring of Splashtop. For example, some employees use the Splashtop Streamer on home PCs (not owned by the company), so they can remote to their home machines while at the office. Occasionally, Splashtop will report threats to a home user PC that are false or breach personal privacy. Then, those get logged with the device forever. The ability to have IT Admins command Splashtop to ignore device security would be very welcomed.

Return on Investment

  • Prior to the onboarding with Splashtop, our employees were basically of the mind that productive and reliable remote access was unrealistic. However, since we're a practicing law firm, the billable hours for attorneys has increased around 15% since they can essentially work anytime/any day without coming to the office.
  • Splashtop has provided a solid piece of our Disaster Recovery Plan and backup systems. Prior to Splashtop, inclement weather would close the office and cease 95% of productivity, which could last a day or a week, sometimes multiple times annually. With Splashtop, it doesn't matter if the physical office is closed. As long as there's power, our employees can be 95% productive, instead, while being 100% remote. The remaining 5% is because our industry relies so heavily on paper. A 95% increase in billable hours and earning revenue on days that would have been 5% is quite good!
  • The relief that Splashtop has provided the IT department through real-time office inventory, incredible tools for assisting users, deployment of policy, deployment of software, and remote access at anytime/anywhere is substantial. Splashtop has had a direct impact on IT's ability to keep services operational and efficiently managed, which in turn, keeps the earners happy and earning.

Usability

Splashtop Solved All My Needs

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am a volunteer for a local non-profit, assisting with their technology needs. The organization houses a large second-hand store (accepting local donations) using the proceeds to assist in clothing local, low-income students. Their needs include many older volunteers that have a low understanding of technology. The organization has a network that includes a Windows file server and 5 desktop machines. Their network switch is advanced, connecting computers and VOIP in a shared environment. With the office located 9 miles from my home, I needed a solution for connecting remotely to resolve minor user issues and to provide proper server maintenance without the need for travel. I learned about Splashtop online and was pleased with the price of their basic plan. Decided to give it a try with their 7-day trial. The software was quite simple to configure and I was using it within minutes of deployment. Of course, my needs are minimal compared to teams managing large networks but I am confident the solution would work equally well in those environments.

Pros

  • Remote Server Management
  • Easy to understand user interface
  • Allows me as a volunteer to spend more time on issues since travel is not needed

Cons

  • A VPN would be helpful for some non-remote access duties

Return on Investment

  • As a volunteer for a non-profit, the only ROI for me is fuel savings since I pay for that myself.

Splashtop Is the Real Deal

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We were a ConnectWise customer but disillusioned by its terrible performance over the last couple of years. Before we let it renew we decided to look at alternatives. Good performance was a must, as was M365 SSO authentication. Splashtop checked all of the boxes, and the performance is AMAZING compared to ScreenConnect. Two departments here (IT and Production) use it to access on prem computers as well as all staff laptops for support.

Pros

  • It's fast. Almost like sitting at the physical machine
  • It "just works". Install is easy and it doesn't "get in the way" of other apps
  • Price is competitive to what we were already paying

Cons

  • Compared to our prior solution, Splashtop does not "organize" devices nearly as well. They need some some sort of tagging solution so that you can, say, pull up a list of "all machines at this campus" or "All Macs at this site"
  • The Business App that runs locally feels clunky, and is presented in a weirdly-sized window

Return on Investment

  • Our prior solution had become so unstable and poor performing that we couldn't provide good technical support with it. Splashtop lets us just get in and get work done.
  • We didn't have to spend a lot more to get a better product, we just had to switch.

Unbeatable value and security but Reboot Reconnect needs a little polish

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Splashtop in conjunction with my PSA, Syncro, to remote into client computers for daily support. This integration allows me to provide assistance while also capturing relevant details on hardware, software, and patch management.I also use the Splashtop SOS licensing to access non-monthly client PCs. This allows me to support "one-off" clients through the Splashtop web portal without needing a permanent agent installed. It solves our primary need for reliable remote IT assistance across the whole organization. The remote access features are indispensable to my workflow, and the price point is very attractive for both versions compared to other solutions on the market

Pros

  • Seamless RMM Integration - Splashtop’s integration into Syncro is functionally invisible, but in a good way. I don't have to manage a separate contact list or worry about syncing credentials between my RMM and my remote tool. I click "Remote Desktop" in Syncro, and Splashtop launches instantly.
  • High Performance Graphics & Low Latency - The frame rate and refresh speed are consistently superior to competitors I’ve used in the past. Even when connecting to a client with a dual monitor setup or a slower upload speed, the lag is minimal. The picture quality is crisp enough that I can read fine print on error logs without squinting.
  • "SOS" Ad-Hoc Workflow - r clients who aren't on a managed contract (my "break/fix" customers), the SOS feature is a lifesaver. I don't have to walk a non-technical user through a complex installation. I just tell them to go to the site, give me the 9-digit code, and I'm in!

Cons

  • Doesn't reconnect automatically after a reboot. Have to manually do it most of the time. Lose time that way.
  • Multi monitor handling is a bit clunky.
  • File transfers sometimes fail at the end.

Return on Investment

  • Allows me to save tons of time by quickly connecting to my clients computers remotely. Many ways to access via my PSA or SOS web URL. Time saved vs time lost.
  • Keeps operating expenses very low. Very important as I continue to grow my business.
  • For negative impact, the autoconnect after restart could be invaluable if resolved. I can lose 10 minutes per session depending on multitasking, but if i happen to reconnect when expected, I can easily pivot back to the connection. This can save hours of time per year.

Splashtop allows our business to be highly efficient and affords all employees flexibility

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It was first procured during COVID to allow remote work for the entire office, but since has been used by each employee for different levels of remote work. It enables me and my boss to be on the same computer at the same time and to go back and forth between our computers. Splashtop is the absolute best platform that I have heard of or been exposed to, due to its versatility, reliability and immediate access to knowledgeable customer service.

Pros

  • Allows multiple computers and users access simultaneously.
  • Makes 'jumping' from one computer to another quick and simple.
  • Every customer service call that I've personally made has been answered and resolved surprisingly quickly with no communication strain whatsoever.
  • All of the Tech support team seem to be on par with a higher standard of professionalism, communication ability and knowledge than any other platform that I have worked with.

Cons

  • Every so often one of our connections needs to be "woken" and that requires calling the support team as opposed to having a simple solution that can be done on our own. It is a rare event, but has happened more than once.

Return on Investment

  • Splashtop enabled our humble office of 3 to grow to a much higher and more efficient 5+ during a time when most businesses were on hold due to COVID and has supported, strongly, the ability for our business to continue that trend.
