Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

I needed a project management system to help coordinate my own client tasks as well as those for my team of freelancers. I tried a number of other solutions and none offered the combination of flexibility and time tracking. Time tracking was key because as an hourly rate business, I needed a time tracking embedded in my project management system to avoid trying to unify two disparate systems every month to create invoices. ClickUp solved the time tracking element for me, and offered a ton of flexibility that allowed me to structure my clients, projects and tasks in a way that was extremely conducive to how I work and manage projects. Even as my systems and processes evolved, ClickUp offered the flexibility to adapt with me. It's great!
  • Time tracking - I can track actual time next to estimated time to evaluate efficiencies.
  • Structure - The system allows for an intuitive client, projects, and task structure so I can manage monthly engagements easily and efficiently.
  • Freelancer Access - I have the ability to add guests to specific projects, which helps me manage their time and progress through a project with ease.
  • Progress: With statuses and time tracking, I can easily see where projects are at and prioritize my workload accordingly.
  • Time tracking is done using hours and minutes. For example, one h 23m. This is fine for the most part, but when it comes to converting one h 23m into an hourly rate, I'm required to do the math manually 23/60 to get the decimal version. This makes invoicing at the end of the month a little cumbersome at times.
  • I save hours every month. Before ClickUp I had to rectify time tracked in one system against tasks managed in a different system. With multiple people involved, the names never perfectly lined up, so it became a very manual task. I don't deal with that with ClickUp.
  • All of my tasks are consolidated in one place and the most important tasks can be prioritized on one screen. I'm never confused about what's next to complete.
  • Project allocation is very easy because my freelancers get an email notification when they are assigned a new project and we can collaborate back and forth on questions and comments directly in the task. I don't have to translate email to ClickUp, it's all right there.
Communicating project expectations to my team has become easier and more trackable. Everything needed to complete a task is consolidated in ClickUp, and my team can ask relevant questions directly in the project. We don't have a central office. Everyone is remote. This tool gives us the ability to have very specific and consolidated conversations in one place rather than spread across email and Slack.
Time tracking and project management are in one place. I don't have to keep two tools up to date. I've also been able to reduce the number of technologies. I do system integrations for marketing and CRM software, and those can be difficult to manage. I don't need any system integrations with ClickUp because everything I need to manage my projects and teams is in one place.
ClickUp's flexibility and time tracking are what set it apart from every other tools I tried. I was able to customize ClickUp to exactly what I needed from a project management tool. From there, having time tracking directly associated with each task and totaled up for each project makes end-of-month management a breeze. No other tool I tried came close to ClickUp when trying to combine these areas.

As an agency owner who manages a team of consultants, ClickUp is great. It enables me to assign projects, determine priority, share notes and relevant details, and track the time a professional invested. At the end of the month, I can quickly see how much time was invested and then translate that directly to an invoice. I save hours every month managing client accounts because everything is in one system instead of spread across multiple, disparate tools.
