Overall Satisfaction with Oracle ERP Cloud
I'm a training consultant and have worked with my client who uses some of the ERP apps to provide their customer orders and to track their travel expenses. They opted not to use Sales Force automation (I think it was the cost) but wanted to give their field sales reps the ability to track orders and enter their expenses as they occur or while at a customer visit. Having this application in the cloud avoided the expense and time it would take to host this information via the data center. So, this particular example would be a department application with cloud services used to manage the data and database computing environment.
Pros
- This client was particularly interested in the useful user interface. Most of the users (sales reps) use iPhones and some are using iPads.
- The sales department is not burdened with any IT issues or IT staff.
- Ease of use.
- Ease of management.
- The client is really pretty satisfied with the cloud solution for their ERP application.
Cons
- The client is interested in some improvements in the mobile user interface that would include the map and location interface available to other iPhone apps.
- All positive...
- This client feels this has been an excellent use of funds.
- The ERP Cloud has made it all easy.
- There has been no time that I am aware of that the order history data has not been available to the field employees.
I was brought in to assist with the training part of the roll out. I was not part of the evaluation process. I believe they were using a home grown application that didn't lend itself well to iPhones and iPads. This client already uses the Oracle RDBMS for many in-house applications so using the Oracle software was a comfortable decision for this client.
