Considered Both Products
Bizzabo
Chose Bizzabo
I feel it's a better value for the cost. AND easier to use.
Chose Bizzabo
We really only use Bizzabo for one client. And we use them because it's their preferred CRM.
Chose Bizzabo
In comparison with each of these services, Bizzabo is the only one that is customizable enough to accommodate our specific needs. Bizzabo is more of the one-stop-shop and allows us to manage our events and collateral from one universal spot. It keeps us more organized and has a …
Chose Bizzabo
Bizzabo was more affordable and had the functionalities we were looking for. They were also willing to work within our budget needs.
Chose Bizzabo
There is less room for design, little to no backend help, event managers not in the loop, etc.
Chose Bizzabo
Very well. And easier to manage with a small team.
Chose Bizzabo
CVent had a lot of functionality, but it was incredibly hard to use. Had to make numerous calls to support and take a long time to get responses.
Chose Bizzabo
To be honest, it's been several years since we used Cvent, so I can't remember specific points of comparison.
Chose Bizzabo
Bizzabo is definitely a great choice for your event tool. I don't find it as robust as Cvent, but I do find it more useful than an Eventbrite. We selected Bizzabo because of our initial support team, but they eventually moved on, which started our problems with Bizzabo. It …
Chose Bizzabo
We chose Bizzabo because it had the best selection of tools across logistics, planning & marketing functions.
Chose Bizzabo
Overall, Bizzabo performed better than Cvent and Eventbrite offering the most functionality.
Ease of use is better than Marketo and Salesforce's Pardot, however on the integration side for automation the data is very one-directional.
Bizzabo should be used only for event …
Chose Bizzabo
We used all of those before switching to Bizzabo. Bizzabo is simply a better app.
Chose Bizzabo
Bizzabo is more user friendly than other similar platforms for event managers, attendees and speakers
Chose Bizzabo
The partnership we had with Bizzabo, the historical data, and the customizable features are all the reasons we stayed with Bizzabo. Bizzabo also worked with us on cost since we are a small non-profit. Certain and CVENT have been used by our association in the past and while …
Chose Bizzabo
We currently use Aventri for some event registrations but like the interface of Bizzabo more. We chose Bizzabo over Cvent, Whova, and others for ease of use, customization, and pricing.
Chose Bizzabo
At the time we selected Bizzabo, Cvent's virtual offering was not as strong. Aventri was not considered because of the complexity of implementation and we were in a time crunch.
Chose Bizzabo
We chose Bizzabo as we believed that it would be more successful for us than these platforms. However, we've felt this has not been the case.
Chose Bizzabo
appeared to be much easier to use and better pricing

Chose Bizzabo

Bizzabo is a clear leader and more sophisticated than other event management platforms out in the marketplace right now. Unlike others, they continue to invest in the tool and have pretty good support. They have a decent amount of turnover within their sales and CSM …
Cvent Event Management
Chose Cvent Event Management
Honestly, Cvent Event Management's registration platform is superior. The logic, setup options are far better than what the companies above have to offer. The only downfall is that it is far more expensive, and sometimes isn't needed for the most basic of registration sites.
Chose Cvent Event Management
Some of the platforms we have used don't show up in the options available to select, but Cvent Event Management is definitely one of the most customizable and intuitive platforms we have used. They are also very consistent with their brand in the quality of the product they …
Chose Cvent Event Management
Cvent was the only events software that could meet our needs at a price that was palatable. We have been with Cvent for over a decade and I shop around every time we come up for contract renewal just to see what's out there. Cvent hands-down is able to handle so much more …

Bizzabo
Bizzabo is really well suited for large-scale hybrid events. In this day and age, it's imperative to have a software that can successfully accommodate virtual and in-person attendees. Bizzabo blends these experiences extremely well. It is also great when event agendas are complex and need customizations - Bizzabo offers flexibility and has options for tracking session attendance. Bizzabo does not work well for smaller events with in-person only registrations. The risk of the equipment not working is high and, for smaller events, not worth the stress!

If you have a big event (over 300 people) that requires an app, has a substantial agenda and/or lots of sponsors - then Cvent Event Management is for you. I would never recommend it to a client that didn't have a ton of cash, as it's an expensive asset. If you have a complicated event in any way shape or form, it is a LIFE saver.

Pros
Bizzabo
  • Bizzabo makes setting up registration for an event very simple. You can make it more complex if you require that, but if you only need to capture basics and payment, it is easy to set up.
  • Making a custom event website is also very easy. There are a lot of widgets build in with content you might need, such as Speakers. While it takes a little bit of use to figure out how it works, once you know the basics, creating a multi page website with all your event info is super easy.
  • Creating custom ticket types and promo codes is full of options and it’s easy to allow many different options for purchasing tickets. From expiring ticket types to tracking promo codes, you can allow people to buy tickets with unlimited options (early bird, sponsor discounts, etc.)

Cvent
  • Cvent Event Management's platform offers a great way to build out diverse event structures. Their platform is very customizable so it can work with almost any event structure there is.
  • Their software integrates extremely well together. We use them for our event App and On-Site solutions and being able to have each piece be a one-stop facet is great. I don't have to edit different aspects in multiple different places since they systems all work cohesively.
  • The customer support is fantastic. Between having our own set team assigned to us for questions as well as various methods to reach out to them through chat, open cases, phone calls and emails, you're always able to get ahold of someone. Whenever I have had an issue that the person I was speaking with didn't have the solution for, they always escalate it until they get the answer for me.
  • The Exhibitor and Speaker Management tools really help reduce redundancy and keep track of all facets of the event. Especially when there are upwards of 50 of each it can be hard to track all of the elements needed from them. Cvent Event Management allows you to assign tasks to each exhibitor or speaker and can send reminders to those with incomplete tasks.

Cons
Bizzabo
  • Our attendees complained about having to login every time to view content
  • You cannot be in the system working on the backend while a colleague is. We have found that the work doesn't save.
  • The email system is hard to format within Bizzabo
  • Staff would sometimes get kicked out of interact rooms. It would be nice to add virtual backgrounds in this space.
  • Reports were missing data and it took two weeks to get corrected
  • When recording a session, you have to go back and download it, and then upload it. This process should be easier.

Cvent
  • You have to implement a workaround to use images in your session descriptions.
  • They tend to add features by acquiring other platforms, but then don't always cleanly integrate them into Cvent itself, so they always seem sort of ratcheted on.
  • The media and document library is pretty basic, so you need to take extra steps to link PDFs and other documents within the registration process if you choose to host the docs on Cvent.

We are very pleased with the features that Cvent gives us. The ease of use and the immediate support when something does stump us. Cvent provides us with everything that we need to run a successful event. The only reason I did not Rate Cvent as a 10 is the cost

Usability
Bizzabo
Bizzabo is extremely user friendly. The website builder is very simple to use and can creative some astounding looking websites, with no technical know how. The setup of the account, adding users, managing events and user access to events, as well as creating events from scratch or from existing "templates" (actually just standard events that we set a far off date from and copy as a template) is very simple, but powerful as you can pick and choose exactly what to copy over. It is also a very user friendly platform for the attendees and speakers (both for virtual events and physical events for speakers as the speaker, and partner, portal is very simple to use and can be custom created for the exact specifications you need).

Cvent has a lot of functionality, which can be overwhelming to new users who are not too technically savvy. However, Cvent does a great job of providing tools and support for users to learn and troubleshoot. I also appreciate the work and progress that Cvent has been making in Accessibility.

Cvent does go down pretty frequently. And while it often doesn't impact day to day use usually, if it does go down at the wrong time, you may not be able to access very important event information when you need it. Usually outages do not last very long, but it could still be a very bad situation if this happens at the wrong moment

Support is always quick to respond. However, some issues are out of their hand, and in these cases, it is a laborious process to then submit a suggestion for how to improve the product. However, where they can rectify an issue, support has gone above and beyond to deliver and do so efficiently and in a friendly manner.

It would have been nice during implementation if we had received more pointers on how to organize our parked report folders, libraries, etc. to avoid the mess we find ourselves in today. If we had known ahead of time the limitations we could have planned better.

The top reason I prefer Cvent Event Management over NetForum is the customer support. Our Account Manager and Customer Support Staff are in constant communication with us. They anticipate our needs and help us find the solutions. If we don't feel confident in a product, they loop in a specialist to provide training.

Bizzabo
  • Since we have only used Bizzabo for a year we are still learning and figuring out the nuances of it but I would say that one thing it has done is impressed our current clients which makes them want to continue to work with us.
  • We hope to use Bizzabo as a tool to recruit more clients i the future
  • It has cut a third party out of the system as we have our own dedicated platform to use and do not have to rely on a separate agency to use a different platform.
