Braze
Chose Braze
We used other providers before, such as Mailchimp. However, we believe that Braze does a better job of actually landing in the right place; our clickthrough rate spiked once we switched over to Braze.
Chose Braze
Braze is not a mailing platform so we can do cross channel campaigns. Plus, the creation of canvases is really easy thanks to their documentations and help. We have many way of personalization and also have analytic information to monitor our data and manage performances.
Chose Braze
I am not a CRM, mobile-CRM, or lifecycle marketing technology expert.

Braze is distinct from the other tools I have used due to the SDK integration and feature set specifically suited for mobile app product-led companies like mine.
Chose Braze
Braze offers stronger tutorials and more flexible personalization and targeting options compared to other platforms I’ve used. While other tools included some of the same features, they were harder to learn because of limited tutorials or confusing UX/UI. Many of them also used …
Chose Braze
Braze allows for a better ROI on emails sent and a better package of capabilities than what we were using with Mailchimp
Chose Braze
Braze is a cross-channel and data-driven tool. It is much more intuitive and easier to use. It supports a high volume of sending. Braze team provides excellent follow-up and support, and we are part of a large community of clients who share knowledge and help.
Chose Braze
Braze is a more comprehensive product with more integrated features.
Chose Braze
I actually really liked Iterable, but was forced internally to switch platforms due to its inability to handle our volume and its rising costs. Iterable was much easier to use out of the box, and I preferred much of its UI, but ultimately, our business outgrew it. We spent 9 …
Chose Braze
Usability, efficiency, and reliability are what we looked for….and Braze was the platform that most impressed our leadership and email staff.
Chose Braze
I would say Braze is far better in creaitng detailed and intelligent marketing journeys than any of the products I have mentioned. Intercom is primarily a support channel and so wasn't suitable for my use case, having limited features and requiring workarounds. Mailchimp is …
Chose Braze
More flexible, some rules were before on the tech team side and now with Braze, those rules can be changed without having to ask de tech team - we are more autonomous! Better channel orchestration and more available channels.
Chose Braze
Unlike MailChimp, Braze goes beyond just email and SMS as communication channels. With communication channels like push notification, in-app message, and content card, Braze is clearly a superior platform for customer engagement. Also, Braze offers more options for dynamic …
Chose Braze
Mailchimp is fine for bulk email and some light automation, but it still centers on email; push or in-app support feels tacked on, and new segments update only after hours. Braze gives us email, push, SMS, in-app, and web all native, with data streaming in real time, so …
Chose Braze
I wasn't part of the decision-making process for selecting Braze, since I joined the company after Braze was already "integrated" with our company. I'd still say that Braze would me my 1st choice compared to other tools that I used in the past.
Chose Braze
Braze is by far the most user friendly tool. The frequency and usability of the super regular product releases they roll out really sets them apart in a stale marketplace historically dominated by Salesforce, Adobe and other big players. They think App first - critical in the …
Chose Braze
Salesforce is better suited for the sales funnnel or for B2B rather than B2C so in this case Braze already stacks up great as a wonderful B2C all-rounder product. Mailchimp, Firebase and others ive used are gragmented as they all offer different features and are not a ONE …
Chose Braze
Braze allows for more functionalities and opportunities to personalise the user experience deeper
Chose Braze
Braze offers a better service for the type of needs my company has. I was skeptical as it is also a lot cheaper than the other platforms that I have used in the past – but have not found any issues or hindrances to my work. Overall, our ROI is much, much higher using Braze.
Chose Braze
Better user segmentation and conversion data. Better integration with our tech stack.
Chose Braze
Braze was a newer solution that allowed for complexities and we had people on the team that were familiar with it, making for an easier onboarding and transition of the tool.
Chose Braze
Braze and SFMC are pretty close, but Braze hits the sweet spot with the amount of features it offers and price. Salesforce can be more advanced in terms of features, but is also more complex, and it is pricier.
Chose Braze
Up to date and modern day standards.
Continually improving functionality.
Great documentation.
Intuit Mailchimp
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I chose Intuit Mailchimp over Campaign Monitor as it had, in my opinion, a better interface and UX. I then left it to go to Audience Republic as they promised us the world with integration with ticketing outlets. After they failed to deliver for us, I then left for because Braze

Used a few other platforms that perform the same tasks as Mailchimp. These platforms, while are much more robust than Mailchimp, have a much steeper learning curve. Yesmail and Adobe Campaign have alot more to offer that would work great for teams that need more automation and …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Constant Contact is nowhere near as simple to use and intuitive as Mailchimp. The processes for storing information are more difficult and there’s not as much customization functionality.

Braze is a fantastic tool if you're looking to build a large number of CRM journeys using complex canvas structures and maximising use of customer data to segment and personalise. There are numerous tools to ensure each channel is maximising impact and engagement. Braze offers great features for testing, managing message frequency and control groups and using dynamic attributes and liquid code. If you're looking to limit your use to single-send campaigns with no or few automations, I don't think this is the right tool. From my experience, many Braze users also use external tools for analytics rather than Braze's native analytics.

For any E-commerce related needs, like you need to see a list of customers who have added products to cart but did not purchase, this can be done really easily, but if your e-commerce provider provides integration, then it is best suited. Most of the systems in the Market provide out-of-the-box integration. Their API is also very easy it can be integrated to any language. You can integrate it into your custom developed system and use the features, like adding customers to specific lists. Also, if your lists become really big, then their system can get a bit slow to respond via API, so you might need a strategy for how you are gonna fetch the data using API.

Best suited: - Merging emails coming from: Facebook leads forms, Unbounce or landing pages forms, Google forms, any other kind of lead generation tool and bundling all that information together for a single user "profile". - Passing events generated in multiple applications by the same user (product selected in web, product discarded in cart, etc) and delivering those events into other applications (like a CRM) Less appropriate: - Reading/updating data directly from segment from a frontend application

Pros
Braze
  • Canvas feature has been really good for creating customer journey paths and long-term messaging campaigns.
  • They have been addressing feature requests to continue to improve the Canvas feature. One of the simplest but most-handy features is allowing Delay steps wait for a very specific date on a calendar -- so you can plan seasonal campaigns or when you have evergreen-style drip campaigns it allows for avoiding public holidays/etc.
  • The catalog feature provides a lot of use-cases and flexibility for personalizing comms or customizing comms for whitelabeled versions of our standard comms (for our B2B2C scenarios).
  • We use the catalog as a repository of our B2B2C brand info, messaging customization - it basically allows us to offer a whitelabeled configurable version of our optimized automated in-life comms in the branding of our b2b customers.

  • Mailchimp allows you to manage your mailing list really well. You can subscribe people, unsubscribe people manage the mailing list directly into segments, and what not.
  • Mailchimp has features where you can create campaigns based on your mailing lists and send out newsletters to your subscribers based on a multitude of parameters that you can setup. Such as send email daily, weekly, monthly and they also have event based mails that you can send out.
  • Mailchimp also has a feature where you can design your emails. The look and aesthetics are very important when sending emails to your subscribers and all those needs are addressed here.

  • Multi-platform. Segment has easy integrations in many different web, backend, and app platforms/frameworks. We use the Segment SDK in Android and iOS as well as our node.js backend.
  • Segment is fairly affordable for early-stage companies that are trying out different analytics software. The "developer" plan is free and is suitable for most companies with products that have a small user base.
  • The UI is great! It is extremely intuitive and easy-to-learn, and this made it take very little time to integrate this software into our analytics and marketing workflows.

Cons
Braze
  • Enabling GIF/videos to be directly uploaded on to Braze's platform
  • Easier way of creating canvases; right now it is too complex for someone new who is starting off in the company to understand what things do and where things are
  • Ability to track duplicate user profiles within the entire audience segment
  • Automated deduplicating email addresses/phone numbers in each targeting segment; right now it's done manually after extracting csv files

  • The pricing tiers do scale quickly so if you have a free newsletter it may get expensive
  • The pricing is based on total emails so if you have users who you only email rarely it might not make sense to use Intuit Mailchimp
  • Customer support can be a bit lacking at times and their docs aren't always the best

  • More and richer sources. For example, MailChimp is a source but the data you get from MailChimp is quite limited. I ended up writing my own scripts to take better advantage of MailChimp's API because Segment's integration was lacking.
  • Better examples on how to set up event tracking. Pageview tracking is easy enough, but it would be nice if they had a sample app and corresponding code for it and showed you, via Git commits, how to add various kinds of events.

We've had Mailchimp for about ten years, I want to say. I started with the company about four years ago, and I don't see us ever diverting to another source. It is an easy-to-understand platform, thanks to its design and accessibility. We can connect Braze with other platforms for analysis or email design (Snowflake, Hightouch, Stripo...).

Very responsive and helpful on simple questions, but not great other than that. They do not have a way for the customer/user to escalate a ticket. You have to contact your rep and in some cases, they don't respond within 24 hours so you have no idea if they have escalated it. There is no phone number for an urgent issue - you have to rely on email

We chose Twilio Segment for the good API integration and node resources, I would use Ontraport again, particularly if I didn't have the requirements for API and development/platform integration. Certainly the set up and management is easy and seamless with both the API and the user interface to use depending on circumstances and requirements.

Mailchimp over the years I've used it has grown in leaps and bounds. They have added so many additional features than were previously available. They are truly an all-in-one marketing platform now. If you're a small operation and just want to add email to your marketing efforts, they're there for you. If you're a larger operation and want to start sending postcard advertisements, they can do that. If you'd good with that and want to kick up your marketing by going social, you can do that on their platform. They are truly able to be as small as you need, but also get quite large in whatever it is you'd like to do through their system.

  • We are currently trying to reduce churn of our members, numbers are stable but not as good as they could be.

  • One of my retail web store clients was sending out email specials and notices about once a month. After clicking the send button, we would watch Google Analytics and the current site users would light up immediately. Often, the current site visitors would pop up to 20, 30 or more after the email was sent. On a normal day, seeing 1 or 2 online users would be OK.
  • Pretty much in all cases, we could see an uptick in positive activity after sending out a Intuit Mailchimp email to a list.
