Cisco SecureX (formerly Threat Response)

You can really use [Cisco SecureX (formerly Threat Response)] for any threat big or small. It helps to drive you towards which product you need to be looking at. It does not allow you to easily drill down into the info you need to make a good decision. It is also not a reporting tool.

McAfee Advanced Threat Defense

It is most suited in larger organizations where policies don't have firewall restrictions and the domains are not yet protected and it is less appropriate in organizations that have already implemented firewalls and necessary threat detection mechanisms. Some organizations have a larger honeypot and they implement specific algorithms to protect their systems

Personally, I have only called our internal IT team about needing changes to permissions, not McAfee itself, but our IT team can make the changes though it seems to take them longer than I would think it needs to take. As someone who administers a different program, with different permissions, I would feel they should be able to make the exceptions faster and easier.

Cisco is ahead of the game in setup. There are so many pieces you have to put together and configure from scratch and tweak to come come close to what securex has.

McAfee Advanced Threat Defense

Zscaler Internet Access is lighter and easier to customize for smaller groups than McAfee Advanced Threat Defense. Personally, I have never called customer support for either product but I have heard that Zscaler has better, more responsive customer service as well. Both have an automatic launch upon boot-up feature and both block threats well.
