Zoho Assist
Score 8.3 out of 10

Zoho Assist from Zoho Corporation is a remote administration tool for SMBs and outsourced IT.
My remote work often involves being in a remote session for at least an hour. It is excellent for these long sessions as it rarely disconnects while using the app. Other similar programs are expensive and often offer way more options than I need. This is a simple and easy to use app. I can also use it while out of the office and on the road.
Zoho Assist has been great for me when someone calls and has problems accessing files, or can't figure out why their computer is doing something weird. I can just send them a link and be connected to them in a couple minutes. I've tried providing support to mobile devices and it has proven to be a challenge, especially if the user on the other end is not particularly tech savvy. The installation process is not intuitive and the functionality of the support once I was connected was not very good
Connection speed. Users have reported very little latency (and I have verified this myself administering a work server from home).
Support. The sales and technical support departments at Splashtop have been extremely helpful and very quick to respond to inquiries or requests. Samuel Frescas and Aaron Changeur both are excellent to work with and go above and beyond to assist.
Ease of setup. Installation consists of two pieces of software installed on applicable devices (device remoting from and device remoting to). Users are invited by email, create their own accounts, and can then be assigned to their individual laptop and desktop workstations. Setup for each user was able to be completed within the span of 15 minutes, from account creation to remoting into their workstation.
Account management. Admins have comprehensive control over users and endpoints. All aspects of this are configurable and straightforward.
Zoho Assist service will stop workstations automatically sleeping (unless overridden) - this was done deliberately by their development team as they aware (and unable to fix) their issues with WOL.
Support is terrible - very quick response initially - but it can take weeks to get any actual support or solution. I currently have outstanding tickets over 2 months old with no response.
File transfer clunky, slow and inconsistent.
Clients often show offline when actually available and online.
I believe that I will renew Splashtop without any problems in the coming years as eating stable costs without increases even in critical periods such as the Covid virus, Splashtop allows access to 25 unattended stations and has continuous updates and new features. It also allows resale to users with sub-accounts
It's hard to find any significant faults with Splashtop. It offers a very responsive remote access experience with clear and simple interface. There's very little learning curve as it's toolbar mimics other popular remote access solutions graphical user interface. It's gives you access to your remote computer quickly and stays out of your way
Very easy to use. Tech support is available, but not needed. Our customers are able to download and run the file quickly, an audible tone alerts users as to when the assisted person joins the session. It is functional, aesthetically pleasing, and contains all the capability anyone needs for remote support.
I've never had any issues with it, nor any connectivity issues. They always say when they'll be maintaining the system and it's always in the odd hours, so nobody uses then. But I've never had any issues.
Tickets lingered in the support queue. Our environment is complex and some solutions never work in it but inconsistency and long turn around time on seemingly simple support issues force our pursuit of alternative solutions. Our environment is atypical and should not be used as a litmus test for solutions however we found the support issues were more wide spread with other orgs voicing the same delays.
As I said earlier, Zoho Assist is a perfect remote access software and very well meets our needs to solve installation, uninstallation and general configuration issues. The interface is beautiful, clean, user-friendly and works very well on Windows 10. All the support and infrastructure staff approve and enjoy using it
It couldn't have been any easier to setup and I have had no issues with it since it was implemented. It's a great product and makes remotely connecting to another device so simple and quick. I can't recommend it enough
Splashtop Business Enterprise is actually easier to implement and get it up and running, all users have to do is download the standard or personalize file and run it, then share the code with you and you are all set to go, i like it because you can even do it from your phone if necessary
All of the products listed can be used as standalone products or like we do as a suite of products that help various teams and departments make the day to day operations run more smoothly and efficiently. The only non Zoho product that i currently use that is like Zoho Assist is Microsoft Teams, and while teams has many of the same features that Zoho Assist has it does not go into as much depth as Zoho Assist does as it is not meant for support, also the other party would need to have teams as well to establish a call whereas with Zoho Assist its just sending a link via email to the customer to open the support session.
It's a product that allows us to work remotely and access our servers from anywhere in the world. Our team works from different parts of the world and it's a great tool for us.
Allows my boss to facilitate workshops on Google Meet for her one client. She has two use 2 monitors for this and struggles setting up the slides and participants because she is older. So, it allows her to participate in these virtual workshops and make it easier for her to participate in.
Our team all work remotely, so I can access my boss's laptop to find files she may have on her computer and forgot to store on our shared database. Saving time and frustration for all.
I can access my boss's laptop to work on her computer (i.e. organize or delete files) and she doesn't even have to be there. She just leaves her computer on/open, and I can access whenever I choose without having to schedule with her or have her sitting there. She can do other activities, and we don't have to abide by each other's time constraints/schedules.
We never skipped a beat when the 2020 lockdown occurred. Everyone was already set up and able to work from home.
The cost of Zoho is much less than other remote programs; especially when remote connectivity cost includes up to 100 technicians (we made each user a tech of their own computer).
Integrating with other products and receiving a bundle discount is a plus.
