We use Acronis to perform daily incremental backups of the various workstations within the office to a central server and then use it to perform a weekly backup of the server to off site storage for redundancy. We schedule the backups to run after hours to reduce the impact on the workstations, server, and network/internet bandwidth from impeding work. This allows for peace of mind in that if something does go wrong, a file is deleted/overwritten, or something more catastrophic happens we will likely be able to recover the data or at least a recent version with little loss.
  • Scheduled Backups
  • CPU/Network Priority settings
  • Easy to use interface
  • Ability to browse within backup images and specifically within the various increments
  • Disk Clone Utility for upgrading/replacing drives in a system regardless of the size of Disk A to Disk B
Cons
  • Lower overall system impact
  • Increased performance browsing within/copying large amounts of data from an image
  • Better licensing options
It works very well in most any environment, though with its current pricing/licensing structure it is best suited for home use, or small/medium business use. A large to enterprise sized business might find the cost to be a bit too high in terms of ROI. Home use licenses are probably the best value in a lot of ways considering most home computers have 0 redundancy and thus failure usually means 100% loss of information. Many businesses usually have at least SOME layer of redundancy such as RAID 1 data arrays for server storage but this still adds an additional and affordable workstation backup option on top of that redundancy to aid in recovery.

We use Acronis Backup to backup all of our physical workstations and servers daily for the entire organization. It is a perfect backup solution. You can schedule backups to any day of the week and any week of the month with a specific time. You get notifications via email for completed and failed backups.
  • Image backup and restore are very quick
  • Recover files and folders directly from File Explorer
  • Easy and Quick Installation
Cons
  • The web interface is slow and can kick you off from time to time
  • I do find that the error messages are hard to decipher if/when a backup is unsuccessful. However, support is very good in helping out the solution
  • The user interface is not intuitive enough to find failures in backups or track logs with alerts or errors
We have used this to recover a folder that was accidentally deleted by a user. Brilliant and works fast too.

We use Acronis Backup to easily manage all of our local backups. It is very much easy to use and configure. Anytime we have needed to recover from backup, it has been a piece of cake. As you know, this is crucial when something needs to be restored. I have complete faith in Acronis and appreciate it coming through in the clutch when needed.
  • This software is really easy to implement. You are up and running within a day.
  • Restores are extremely easy to implement.
  • When you do need to contact support they are really helpful.
Cons
  • It can be a little expensive.
  • You have to install an agent on your servers.
  • I did not have great luck with it backing up Linux servers.
If you are on a Windows environment and you want to implement a super easy backup solution, Acronis will do the trick. There are other pricier backup solutions out there, but if your environment is small and you only need to backup locally, it works like a dream. I was always pleased whenever I had to restore a backup.

Simple, scalable, reliable and speedy - nothing comes close to its peace of mind.

It is used to backup all City servers in every department. It addresses the need to recover without installing Windows first. Very easy to recover data and much quicker than the competition.
  • Rapid backup and restore
  • No need to load OS prior to restore
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Ransomware protection
  • Backups to multiple locations at the same time
Due to its comprehensive backup method, I would never consider other options. No other product comes close to the speed and ease of protection.

It is currently being used by only the IT department to deploy and image new work laptops. We have tried some other products but they are no where near as quick and easy to deploy as Acronis is. We have used this for many years and will continue to use it for many years.
  • In emergencies, having to take a quick image of a damaged laptop (not the hdd) and re-deploy to a new laptop is quick and easy.
  • The full software suite is truly reliable when you need to create images of external drives for later use.
Cons
  • Sometimes can be cumbersome when there is an error and it does not give you as much detail as others.
  • Installation of the full suite can sometimes take an extreme amount of time to complete.
  • Can not fully pick and choose which areas you would like to install.
When you need to mass deploy laptops with one image, Acronis shines. We would sometimes have to deploy 80+ laptops in a short amount of time. Simply load up the image and bootable software on an external drive and you can complete as quickly as possible, especially if you have more than one bootable device.
