  • Positive results on ROI
  • Very good compression and de-duplication rates
  • Very robust disaster recovery mechanism
I think costs are at very good level if we compare Commvault Complete Data Protection with EMC running Data Domains, howewer de duplication rates are a liitle bit lower on Commvault Complete Data Protection vs Data Domain. On VMware backup Veem rules, but Commvault Complete Data Protection it's capable to do them all with ease (VM Backup, DataBase Backup, Cloud backup, etc).

Metallic is the software that not only backs up office 365 data but also helps us effortlessly retrieve deleted files and data. We use it across the company to run automated backups on a daily basis, and it has worked seamlessly with all office 365 applications. It is a flexible solution to back up and restore office 365 data in a secure way.
  • Produces virtual air-gapped copies to secure files further.
  • It is very simple and quick to configure the setup wizard.
  • The retention policies for mail boxes are rigid and inflexible.
With the office 365 cloud storage being immense, locating files is very tiresome; that's why Metallic 365 stands out with the robust search controls to ease the strain. I constantly pinpoint data backed up with Metallic in just a few clicks. It supports all office 365 applications spanning (but not limited to) 365 groups, teams, and my favorite 365 SharePoint.
  • Immutable backup.
  • Mailboxes retention policies.
  • Data and file search engine
  • Full utility of office 365 with confidence.
  • We've benefited from the built-in EDRM protocols for regulatory compliance.

Metallic Office 365 Backup & Recovery is used in our environment to make sure we having a working and safe backup of our Office 365 environment. Their product ensures that everyone's entity in Office 365 is backed up and restorable. This is very important for us because we use Office 365 for user management through Azure and in case of any environmental we can restore easily.
  • We can create backup jobs that are easily manageable to control when the environment gets backed up.
  • No backup is good unless you can easily restore from it and Metallic does a very good job at organizing our backups and delivering a restored copy when needed.
  • We are able to restore multiple Office 365 tenants allowing us to test backup processes.
  • Metallic Backup & Recovery could do better at organizing the backups we take making them easier to find and sort between which backups contain different content.
  • Metallic Backup & Recovery could improve on creating retention policies for the backups that are taken so that they are not filling up without us knowing.
  • Sometimes loading the data from Office 365 takes a long time in Metallic so we'd like to see an improvement on the communication between Office 365 and Metallic.
Metallic Office 365 is well suited in situations where your Office 365 environment has any kind of external automation jobs running on it. In our situation we have a middle software reading and writing data to our Office 365 platform which in some cases can be dangerous if the information being written isn't accurate. In cases like this where we have automated jobs changing our Office 365 platform, we need a solution like Metallic to be able to take backups in case our environment is tainted.
  • It provides us an easy solution to take backups when making Office 365 changes.
  • We are able to back up multiple environments to test backup procedures.
  • Restorations can be done easily with very little training allowing other team members to become SME's of the software in a short time.
  • Metallic is another product we can add to our disaster recovery arsenal as we can restore elements of our Office 365 if anything becomes corrupt.
  • It allows us the flexibility to test in our sandbox Office 365 account and prevent issues in production as Metallic allows multiple tenant backups.
  • If we have any issues with the tool we are able to leverage their support for quick resolutions, meaning less time troubleshooting.
We chose Metallic Backup & Recovery over Backupify as we were looking for a SaaS solution to get this done. We didnt want any further hardware in our environment and we wanted something that can be accessed and used anywhere a web browser is. We also went with Metallic as it was a pretty simple tool to implement and we felt that the features that came with it were superior to Backupify.
