What is Courseplay Cloud Learning?

Courseplay aims to help medium and large businesses bring down the cost of training and multiply training capacity without requiring a manual or tedious training. The vendor says the easy-to-use interface allows anyone to pick-up and run with the platform quickly with minimal documentation. Additionally, the vendor says new hires and even potential hires can be onboarded and trained easily, making the induction process smooth and hassle-free.

The vendor’s value proposition is that they go beyond learning to capture the real-world performance of users to ensure that the impact of learning is captured and reported. Additionally, the vendor says they use artificial intelligence to capture personality insights, translate text and even convert text-to-speech. The vendor’s stated mission at Courseplay is to be the most scalable way to teach something and the most delightful way to learn something.

We used Courseplay during the last two years of the pandemic to deliver World Languages department training to teachers and other employees over the internet. It was a good solution considering that we could not meet in person, and Zoom wasn't quite the right product for our purposes at the time, although we used it as well.
  • Accessibility on any device.
  • Detailed user and activity reports.
  • Teaching content online via video.
  • APIs only available upon request.
  • Does not mesh well with Tableau.
  • Android app is not always reliable.
Courseplay was a good tool for delivery professional development training to school district staff over the internet. We were able to get through our annual courses in 2020 and 2021 with little difficulty. I would not use Courseplay for regular or more formal meetings. For our purposes, the cost was pretty minimal.
  • Two-way video and audio.
  • User and course reporting.
  • Low cost.
  • We were able to deliver training courses in about 80% of the time vs in-person.
  • Free trial period allowed us to evaluate without risk.
  • Employees with proper training perform better.
  • Zoom
Courseplay has features that are designed specifically for content-delivery and educational situations. Zoom and other video chat applications don't offer features like gamification or user reports. The cost per user is also relatively low compared to similar services. A higher ownership cost would have probably driven us to make something like Zoom or WebEx work instead.
