What is Seismic Learning?

Seismic Learning (formerly Lessonly, acquired by Seismic in August 2021) is training software with an ecosystem of partners, strategy and services that are aligned under the mantra of Do Better Work.

The vendor has worked with over 800 companies to help them train their teams. The vendor says they've learned that the highest performing organizations build their training on the same six pillars:

  • Assess (Gather Needs & Inputs) Listen to people, data, and the market; identify successes and challenges; and accurately assess your sales team's training needs.
  • Plan (Prioritize for Impact) Identify the most essential objectives and outcomes, and intentionally set milestones for creation and delivery.
  • Build (Create Quickly & Collaboratively) Work with teammates at the front lines of the business to develop and iterate on bite-sized training/content.
  • Learn (Meet Learners Where They Are) Push training content to teammates-- anywhere, anytime-- so they can quickly solve problems in their moment of need.
  • Practice (Rehearse, Refine, Repeat) Reinforce skills and information with realistic practice scenarios and receive feedback to fuel improvement.
  • Perform (Doing Better Work) Empower the organization to continuously improve, deliver and quantify results.

Seismic Learning ultimately aims to help organizations to achieve faster onboarding, higher NPS score, more closed deals and a superior customer experience.

We love using Lessonly because we are able to incorporate all different learning materials for our clients and internal staff. We have been able to make training available to our clients so they can have a self-paced learning experience that they can fit in around their daily work schedule or on their own time. We are able to have multiple departments use Lessonly to build out their specific training for onboarding.

Lessonly also lets us track the individual's progress and we can quiz them on their product knowledge.

Our Customer Support Team is the current team that uses Lessonly. We use it for new product training, policy training, new hire training, anything that you can think of, we train using Lessonly. My team is all remote, so it's a lifesaver since we can't do any in-person trainings.

We use Lessonly in our new hire training program and to support continued education afterward. Lessonly helps us keep track of those who have excelled in certain areas as well as those who need additional support. Lessonly also helps our whole office keep up to date with monthly lessons focusing on the new developments we have created.

Lessonly is being used for two main reasons:
  1. Onboarding new employees: Every new employee that comes on board uses Lessonly to learn about the company and our industry. There is a lot to learn in the first month of employment, and Lessonly provides an easy way for us to disseminate that information.
  2. Training employees as industry experts: Many of our employees go through our Expert Certification Program, which certifies them as field experts. This includes a series of around 15 hour-long lessons, each accompanied by a quiz, and then a final exam. This process ensures our employees are fully equipped to serve our customers. Members of R&D, Marketing, Product, Customer Success go through this course in Lessonly.

Lessonly is being used across our whole organization. We use it for HR, Accounting, Operations, and even Marketing. It is super easy to use and very user-friendly from the learner's perspective. It really helped with our training needs with updates to our software that we use, instead of sending emails (that no one reads) we can create a lesson with a quiz to determine if they understood the change.

We are using Lesson.ly internally to streamline our onboarding process and improve ongoing employee training. We’ve implemented it across multiple departments. We also opted to leverage their practice scenarios user interface to expose new hires to real-world customer issues and measure their performance. This enables us to practice their responses for our “coaches” before interacting with real customers.

I used Lesson.ly at a previous organization to push out training to the entire company and to specific teams. Lesson.ly helps ensure that trainings are not just one off events, but are part of an ongoing and continuous process. Lesson.ly has sales enablement training tools that help it to directly impact company revenue. Lesson.ly was also great at allowing training responsibility to be distributed across the organization - other people can easily be in charge of creating and maintaining their training content and ensuring completion.

We use Lesson.ly in our North American office and been using it for the last 2 years. It helps our local organization and all of its departments onboard new employees and bring them up to speed, as well as keep the current employees up to date with technology and company policies. It also helps us train them in a convenient manner.

Lesson.ly is a product used across our organization. We use it for training and onboarding for new employees, as well as a way to provide information or reference points for employees. If employees need additional information about various departments, functions of our business, or certain processes/policies, they can utilize Lesson.ly as a reference point. Lesson.ly allows us to disseminate a lot of information to our employees in an organized, clear and concise manner.

Lesson.ly is being used by our company to onboard new employees at our company. Lesson.ly allows for me as a manager to have an interactive way to set up training lessons for our customer success team. The ability to have lessons that include text and embedded video is great! We typically link out to our internal resources instead of updating in lesson.ly, that way we only need to update the materials in one place. We had just purchased Lesson.ly when I started and we've only built out more cool resources since!
