What is MicroStrategy Analytics?
The MicroStrategy platform differs somewhat from competing platforms in that it does not include a data warehouse.
The platform integrates with a wide range of third-party data warehouses however. MicroStrategy also built a free discovery/visualization tool called MicroStrategy Analytics Desktop, which is not completely integrated with the rest of the platform. MicroStrategy has strong mobile and cloud capabilities which are differentiators for the platform. MicroStrategy's cloud offerings are unique in that they host the software in their own data centers and allow customers to keep their data on-premise to alleviate security concerns. Analytics is a platform for Business Intelligence (BI) and self-service analytics. It enables organizations worldwide to analyze the vast amounts of data stored across their enterprises to make better business decisions.

- [I feel like] MicroStrategy Analytics implementation has had a large negative impact on the company. Significant amount of time and effort necessary to even get out the most basic of reports.
- We are now having to run multiple reporting environments due to lack of capabilities in MicroStrategy Analytics.
- [I feel like] we will likely migrate to a SaaS solution, and it won't be MicroStrategy Analytics.

Integrated and efficient analytics solution
- Good returns considering integrated objects and reports for multiple mediums
- Not sure but cost of development seemed a little higher which is also an outcome of lack of good development vendors or resources. Not a concern over MSTR as a tool.
- Deployment to mobile or distribute sharing is an advantage as object oriented architecture reduces rework and maintenance steps.

MicroStrategy Review (Version 9)
- MicroStrategy was helpful for reducing the amount of time we needed to spend number crunching large data sets, and in doing so, allowed me as the primary users to spend more time gleaning insights from the data that in turn informed our leadership team to make strategic decisions.
- By creating numerous canned reports available to all members of the team through email distribution or basic access to the platform, we were able to reduce the time I spent showing people how to pull the data in Microsoft Excel by nearly 40% .
- We ended up needing to make many changes to the way our DMP was feeding data into MicroStrategy due to incorrect reporting that caused complications in accounting and finance.

Srini's MSTR review
- Increased elf suffciency. I was part of a business group wit not many technical folks and MSTR helpe us become self reliant in pulling important business metrics without relying on engineers or DBA's.
- Accuracy was sometimes questionable. This probably has to do with the way it was setup in my company but data lags were sometmes an issue which caused confusion because data would be diffrent depending on the time you pulled it.

- Greatly enhances our ability to help customers understand their data -- we import client data into Microstategy to provide a variety of services to them.
- Provides one version of the truth as all reports/dashboards access the exact same data, formulas, metrics, etc.
- Gained tremendous flexibility for all sorts of reporting and analysis needs. Beyond anything we could build ourselves in-house.

Need a BI tool? MSTR is for you!
- Faster for end users to run reports (as compared with an analyst writing the reports).
- MSTR makes it easier to get large reports out to clients. This saves on time an analyst would take to manually run and email the reports.
- Employee efficiency is amazing - now line account managers can run their own reports. Amazing.
