SLP and SCC modules on a global level, appreciate SCC support but miss the same on SLP side. Our Suppliers need a more efficient technical support, less administrationl work for our support and much quicker!!!
  • SCC support is very good
  • SAP Enablement team guide through all steps
  • Want to mention Momoko, AT&S Enablement lead, is very co operative and very supportive and friendly. It is a pleasure working together with her
  • Support AT&S supplier if they have technical problem with the plattform
  • Reduce administrative work for AT&S suppliers to get support
  • Harmonize SLP and SCC ; supplier as well as our colleagues prefere ONE view
  • Some features are very hidden ( use Excel upload for Sourcing)....need more development or training?
  • Restricted functionalities: AB for suppliers very limited
For geneneral products good support; the more specific a product the less support from plattform side

We deploy SAP Ariba Procurement for several industries, the main issue we have is related to service line items integration between buying and sourcing, if a shopping cart is created in buying with a Service line item, the request cannot be processed from Sourcing. This is critical for some customers that dont need Fieldglass, only need source Services and have service master in ERP. The solution provided from product team is to create services requisition in ERP instead of buying but this is not good welcome since the user should enter in more than one system to request (erp and SAP Ariba Procurement)
  • User interface
  • End to end process
  • flexibility
  • integration with erp
  • team collaboration
  • Cost break down is not fully developed
  • Services integration end to end
  • contract re-negotiation
We deploy SAP Ariba Procurement from more than 10 years ago and we believe the platform cover most of the cases. The points that should be improved are cost breakdown functionality (have several limitations) and services line items integration.

For PR & PO it is good the invoice integration is lacking behind (does not matter if Ariba Central invoice mgt, VIM or Ariba IV)

We use Ariba Procurement to manage Indirect spend for Majority of our categories and we implement Full P2P landscape to approve invoices in the Buyer.
  • Approval of requisition works very well
  • Flexibility of the configuration for requisitions is good
  • Adjustment of solution for country specifics is fine
  • procurement data export delay shall be reduced in Ariba reports
  • Navigation for Users to view Accounding details shall be simplified as it has far fetching consequences.
It works fine for goods purchases. For Services is might be further developed. Out of the box solution for complex scenarios (multiple splits, mixed purchase types) might be considered.

We currently use 5 modules, globally, 35 countries, 60 organization, 6000 users. The one we have the most challenges with is the SAP Ariba Sourcing module.
  • Integration
  • Well-known solution (Reputation)
  • Speed of new releases
  • Ariba Sourcing
  • Ariba Support
Less appropriate for one-time spend with small suppliers (no integration on Ariba Network). Search engine in Ariba Guided Buying is also not strong enough.
But in general well suited and all areas covered.

Sourcing, contracting, buying, invoicing, vendor management in 40 countries. We use this product for decentralized and direct procurement. Business problems that this product addresses are workflow optimization, separation of responsibilities, master and transactional data management, invoice processing, supplier sourcing, and contract management. All of these except for master data management were paper-based prior to the acquisition of Ariba.
  • Workflow automation
  • Data and reporting
  • Contract management
  • Data analytics, visualization, and integration
  • User management
  • Supplier data management
Ariba is well suited to enforce the end to end workflow for source to pay. It has allowed us to take a cumbersome and disjointed paper-based process and turn it into a segmented, automated, and controlled process that can scale to global procurement users. It has allowed for sourcing and contracting projects to be globally controlled and for data to be captured for greater oversight. Scenarios where it is less appropriate are supplier data management and user management. In the supplier case, we use Ariba as the supplier source of truth and allow for data entry by internal users and external suppliers to be manually entered. Oftentimes, the supplier data is entered incorrectly or poorly configured, causing integration issues with our ERP. For user management, the process for onboarding and offboarding users is cumbersome and overly complex, causing considerable resource constraints on global tech support.

  • Easy access for our users
  • tiles structures
  • Connect the operational Ariba contracts completly with S/4 contracts
  • company hierarchies in SLP and relation in according to the mdg
  • Implementation of a good search engine
The idea and vision is really good. We are struggeling in the implementation of the different solutions. We are getting confuesed about the roadmaps and new names for function an modules.

Usually Ariba is seen as a procurement departament tool, but in fact this module approachs other departments and allows the company to have requesters from any dept or site using Ariba. Also the approval processes are very wide, so you can pretty much adapt them to any situation. Regarding the use of punch out catalogs or catalog items coming from contracts, this allows to simplify the approval processes as these will turn on on requisitions that result from global agreements.
  • PR to PO simple process
  • Approval process clear and simple
  • Integration of punch out catalogs
  • Link between buying and SLP info should be improved
For simple and daily requests that any user in the company may have, guided buying is the best tool we implemented and that is really appreciated from all the active users. If there is the need of a negotiation, this is not an the best module or approach, on those cases we need to go via Sourcing. The link between both modules can be improved also

We are using the SAP Ariba Procurement network to connect suppliers all over the world. The use of SAP Ariba Procurement for procurement purposes improved the efficiency of our procurement process. As a pharmaceutical company, we require many types of raw materials, instruments, equipment and consumables for manufacturing our medicinal products. SAP Ariba Procurement helped us to smoothen the procurement process and also brought transparency.
  • It allowed us to connect to millions of suppliers.
  • It brought transparency in procurement of goods.
  • It helps to manage and track order and payment status.
  • Navigation is not easy.
  • Getting live customer support is troublesome.
  • Sometimes errors occur resulting in duplication of PO.
SAP Ariba Procurement in conjugation with SAP S/4 HANA improved efficiency and output. SAP Ariba Procurement connects several vendors which helps to get competitive bidding for material to be procured. Vendor selection, purchase orders, and payments are online.

We use SAP Ariba Contracts as the main source for all sourcing contract. My concern is that there is no link between the contract module and the risk module. We cannot click on the engagement request to access the information. We have a lot on custom fields to help us with reporting.
  • Create reports and link more then one fact table
  • We can manage the template without having to create a ticket
  • many field type to answer our needs
  • The time to create a new field and understand the need
  • The template upgrade when hou have more then 1 template. We would had appreciate them to tel us the impact of creating a new template
Easy to map your process into phase or tasks.

I am using SAP Ariba Procurement for the E2E process, from sourcing to p2p activities. Thanks to Ariba, the procurement processes are correctly automated within the company and with good traceability, with good user experience for casual users and procurement colleagues.
  • Automated procurement processes
  • Design proper workflow approvals
  • Great user experience for occasional users
  • Decentralize procurement activities
  • Reporting options in downstream
  • Stability of the system
Appropriate for decentralizing procurement activities with good process traceability. Applying buying policies preemptively and linked with all Ariba functionalities (Sourcing, SLP, etc)

Not appropriate in case of partial enablement of the tool, due to the fact that the company is using other side products. E.g. Sourcing is done via Ariba however, downstream activities are not enabled. It is a great challenge to integrate other modules in later stages.

It helps us to streamline efficiently our operational procurement processes and reduce cost in account payable. It also helps us improving the UX with via Guided Buying and better manage catalog content.
  • Guided Buying
  • Middleware to S/4
  • Reduce Accounts Payable cost via SAP Business Network
  • Integration with the Strategic Sourcing component
  • Invoicing UI, GB should offer this
  • Budget check feature in NON-PO invoices
To automate and streamline procurement processes having the possibility to integrate with Amazon Business. For this Ariba is the right tool.
For processing non PO invoices. In general Invoicing functionality should be improved by for instance supporting extended withholding tax.

We use SAP Ariba Sourcing, Contract Management, and Supplier Lifecycle Management to help with creating Sourcing Projects and Sourcing Events to go out to market. We then create contracts to house the metadata and documents of a contract.
  • Outline the process and steps for users
  • Visibility to users on the progress
  • Approvals
  • Audit history, being able to report on approval comments
  • Integration within the modules, specifically SLP and sourcing
SAP Ariba provides visibility to users on where in the procurement process something is. It helps our user follow the process and tasks required to complete procurement and makes approvals electronic.

We use SBN to collaborate with our direct and indirect suppliers on P2P transactions. It has helped to improve automation, increase visibility and reduce errors. We have found adoption issues with our suppliers in Europe. They are less familiar with the solution and less willing to go into a portal to transact with us. B2B integration is also a problem because most automotive suppliers are used to traditional EDI integration.
  • User-friendly UX.
  • Process standardization.
  • Visibility
  • Invoicing rules by county in Europe.
  • Improve communication between ECC and CIG.
  • Better support for suppliers.
Ariba SBN is well suited for indirect material suppliers, and basic invoicing processes such as US.

We use Ariba as our main STP platform, processing hundreds of transactions every month. Ariba's integrated functionality allows us to simplify, expedite and monitor our procurement processes.
  • Source of potential supplies
  • consolidate and integrate buying processes
  • Invoices management and processing
  • Reporting
  • Catalogs Management / Governance
  • Supplier's support
  • Implement AI functionalities
Ariba facilitates our STP processes. It's a simple one-stop shop to process procurement transactions and integrate our vendors into our systems. The caveat remains on reporting. We don't have cleat visibility on the number of transactions processed every month, it's cumbersome to get a clear cut from the Ariba network side, we don't have the $ of transactions processed daily/monthly/yearly. Would be great to track catalog purchases / non-catalog purchases, TOP 10 suppliers, etc.

Would be great to improve the Contracts module to allow better management of active and future contract. That way companies wouldn't need to go for SAP partners to fulfill gaps

Ariba Spend and Ariba Network. Most of my problem are in the integration with ECC Ariba and ECC do not have the same basic concept in the process. We need a lot mapping and data transformation between then
  • Check the Supplier
  • Online information
  • User friendly
  • Interface with ECC and S4Hana
  • Reports and analytic information
  • Import and export help files
Until today we are not able to use the service scenario in Ariba and ECC. This is the most critical problem we have since the Ariba implementation For spend item Ariba work very well. For inventory item not so much.

We use it for both direct and indirect procurement. We have been able to get direct procurement to work well although we have had some issues getting some of our supply partners enabled on Ariba. We have it set up where they all have to invoice us directly the same way, other suppliers have been resistant to join the network. For those that do use the product, it works great and has resulted in a lot of efficiency for us. For indirect, we've had more trouble getting users to use the product, we do use it to create and receive on PO's but many users have trouble with this and we have had a hard time getting compliance internally. We also have only been successful in getting one supplier enabled thus far although we are looking at other and enjoy the ease of having catalogs set up in Ariba that our employees can purchase from.
  • Direct Procurement process
  • Purchase order approval and flow
  • invoicing from our suppliers who are enabled
  • Reporting out of Ariba is not intuitive
  • Not flexible for suppliers who bill us differently at the header and line level
  • Users get confused when creating a PO - not intuitive
Direct purchase of product that is going into inventory works very well, particularly with suppliers who are fully enabled. We do struggle getting Ariba to work correctly when we have multiple scenarios with our suppliers - ie freight that may change, incomplete orders, pricing etc.
