Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT

I use it to create payables for vendors with invoice entry and manage outgoing payments. I also generate management reports, research vendor history and transactions. Our company utilizes other modules as well such as GL, Student Billing (which sadly is being phased out) and the receivables module.

Pros

  • I like the way it integrates with other outside providers. We use a 3rd party to manage our ACH payments and the link between the two programs is seamless
  • Very good library of reports to select from
  • easy to use

Cons

  • I don't like that you can't export to Excel anymore !!!!!
  • I use the database version of the program as I don't find the web-based one easy to use.
  • The log on can sometimes take a VERY LONG Time!

The company was using Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT when I arrived. I liked Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and found that the display on the database was similar to other products I had used. Very intuitive as well.

Yes

I think it's a good reliable program with good customer service when sought after. The product covers everything you would need to run your office and accounting functions with reliable and good reporting options. It's easy to use and quick to get a new employee up and running on the system. I would recommend it for a medium to large size company or institution. I do think that pricing for a smaller company may be on the high end of cost.
