Bombora is based on:
- The volume of Intent data needed
- Preferred integrations or partner platforms
- The level of support needed to get started
Winmo is great but is very expensive. Apollo.io is not as user friendly and didn't provide the content in an easy manner. Also didn't have as many mobile numbers.

UpLead costs a bit more, but I found the data on UpLead to be well worth it in comparison and it was easier to transfer to our CRM (HubSpot). I like how they also provide useful API integration into UpLead and I hope they begin to offer more automation in the future.
If a company is looking to do higher volume email and phone outreach, Apollo.io is a good tool. I would recommend first verifying if this type of outreach works with your offering. If it does, this tool will be very helpful for you.
Bombora is the perfect tool for anyone looking to understand their B2B customer and their buyer's journey better. Companies produce tons of content - and pay lots of money creating and then amplifying it too. But is it really what the customer is interested in? Now you don't have to guess, you can know thanks to company surge data.
UpLead is well suited for environments where there is a lot of accurate contact information to research mainly generating sales for a business. On the other hand, businesses that don't require searching up a huge amount of contact data and that doesn't add up to the sales of a business do not need to use this software.
Firstly, finding the details of the potential customers that is there name, designation email and phone number since these are the most important cases most of the times I can get this data in Apollo.io
I can pull the bulk data of the targeted organization, or I can pull the emails based on the location and job titles
Apart from the email capture, the thing which helpful is that the email sequence can find emails and send emails in Apollo.io itself and also the report and the dashboard are so clean
Friendly UI and UX Apollo.io was the first tool which I used. Since then I'm still using Apollo.io for easy understanding
Intent topics, as well as the clusters tied to them, have enabled our PMMs to be more granular with specific workloads that are based on industry.
The "Account Intent" option within the "Insights" tab allowed us to look specifically into historical data tied to current activities that we were experiencing with that account.
UpLead is one of the best B2B platforms available in the market which deals in offering the highest quality contacts and different companies’ data.
It has the best and updated real-time email verification, having contacts worldwide, technology tracking, account-based marketing, and robust API.
The integration of UpLead with other platforms is up to the mark. It allows users to integrate UpLead with other renowned software to have the best possible workspace to work on.
Downloading intent data and trying to use it outside of their environment is tricky because the data is essentially one large worksheet. We want to overlay the data with our own data but joining it all together is tricky. Our data comes from D&B so the names provided by D&B don't always match what we get from Bombora so account matching is not very clean.
Customer service is a bit hit or miss. I worked with an account rep to try and resolve it but she couldn't. However, she did open a ticket with the Bombora help desk to try and get me answers. I waited more than a week and got no answer. I followed up and the reply was the original owner of the ticket is out and the new ticket owner was wondering if I had rerun the report to see if the problem went away.
Despite having a self-service type set up for the dashboards and reports, trying to understand what exactly needs to be filled in isn't always easy. The data doesn't match up with what we download so trying to compare the dashboards/reports to the extract is next to impossible?! It shouldn't be this way.
More data on small and start-up companies, but this situation is understandable.
Collecting a long list of contacts, especially of overseas companies, can sometimes take a while as UpLead is verifying the data. But the wait is typically understandable and worth it.
Sometimes I struggle with translating job functions in a foreign language, but this is easy to overcome.
I gave it a 7 because it doesn't help you out if you're an organization that's call-heavy, because a lot of times the numbers aren't the best. It's not accurate. If you're somebody who's email and outbound and your goal is to find that, then that's cool. It works well for it. Some of the features, the AI tools, and some additional features they have are just too complex. Sometimes it's easy to use, but at the same time, there are tools that are not efficient, and it's like, "Where is this coming from?"Especially if you're looking for your niche, whatever industry you're in, and the target word, sometimes it can't find it. You can see what people are searching for, and it just doesn't add up. If you're trying to get very, very detailed, it's not the best. Sometimes it's going to depend on your industry, of course.
I give Bombora an 8 as they do intent well for now. Not a 10 because again its a one trick pony where there are other platforms like ZoomInfo that offer intent as well plus so much more. From an end user perspective, I'd like Bombora to build out first party intent data capabilities to combine into the scoring.
The tool is robust, it's powerful, it's accurate, and it's extremely helpful and pivotal in my current banking sales role. I could not succeed without UpLead's accurate data and contact information. I'm thankful that such an incredible service exists at such a fair and reasonable price, thank you for the value that you provide your customers and thank you for making me a very successful salesman and wealthier man
The team wants to solve probelms, but we are finding that they don't know how to solve the more technical issues quickly. I suspect that they don't have a mature process for escalations, and they don't have a usable knowledge base article repository. They seems to push emails around to let us know that people are working on the issues to find solutions, but this takes weeks and oftentimes still leaves us without a resolution.
Our CSM team is always available for us to meet with via an outreach click to book an invite and we have standing meetings. They met with us on day 1 of implementation and had us up and running that evening. They even go to the lengths of matching industry tenured folks with us to help us move faster.
There is a room for improvement in a layman's perspective as it was difficult for our to understand things during training and had to rearrange sessions.
In terms of Apollo.io, the easiest part is its integration and versatility in handling data. LinkedIn NAVIGATOR, on the other hand, is also a decent tool, but it’s significantly more expensive than Apollo.io and Lusha, especially when considering a decent set of data. However, it’s somewhat incomplete when compared to Apollo.io.
Bombora doesn't give you a token for the number of accounts that are populated. You can search and request as many as you'd like. With other platforms, they provide you a token, and if you use all your tokens for the month, then you have to wait til next month.
UpLead costs a bit more, but I found the data on UpLead to be well worth it in comparison and it was easier to transfer to our CRM (HubSpot). I like how they also provide useful API integration into UpLead and I hope they begin to offer more automation in the future.
We sign our new clients based on the list of accounts in the industry that Apollo.io provides. This gives us a clear picture to identify which industry to target.
Bombora played a big role in us proving the effectiveness of ABM for our organization and had a huge impact on us gaining approval for a full ABM platform.
Bombora helped us identify key target accounts that brought great net new business to our company.
I haven't been using UpLead long but I have generated interest in our company with several large accounts. Each one of them can add several million in revenue to our company.
A huge time saver is to be able to send out email blasts to potential clients I've downloaded from UpLead.
Securing any one of the prospects I'm working on through UpLead can easily pay for the investment 10 times over.
Most of the salespeople in our company are asking me where I'm getting my leads from.
