Considered Multiple Products
ClickUp
Chose ClickUp
We only looked at platforms with an existing contract with Mayo. ClickUp compared to Aha! was an interesting comparison. At face value, they appeared to do very similar things. However, Aha! was much more technical in its look and feel and seemed about as "user-friendly" as MS …
Chose ClickUp
I like ClickUp because it is great for intellectual creatives. Jira is great for engineers, and MS Project is great for people who really like Microsoft products.
Chose ClickUp
For task management, clickup was clearly better than the rest - it has a variety of functions and a document interface that's better that most other task managers. As a scheduler, clickup had clear limitations from the start - MS Project is more sophisticated and an industry …
Chose ClickUp
Microsoft Project has too many options and requires a college course to learn how to keep it moving. It is not live, no app access and has no comment threads. I did not personally use Asana, our marketing director did for his work and we were able to convert him to join …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp far outclasses MS Project in its collaborative features, its ease of use and engaging user interface. Its uncomplicated approach makes it accessible to anyone.
Chose ClickUp
Combine its features and have a massive focus on flexibility. Like gant views, task hierarchy, not necessarily too complex options and process.
Jira was more for programmers as well as MS Project.
Todo and Planner are too simple and missing gant or hierarchy of tasks.
Monday was …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp was the best option for us given its low price, ease of use, and clean appearance. We moved from Zoho Projects, which was functional, but required advanced development knowledge to fully customize. Zoho Projects also was not as attractive or easy to use as ClickUp has …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp is much simpler and more intuitive
Chose ClickUp
They all are in one place, ClickUp. The cost-benefit analysis pointed out that ClickUp would be able to drive an improvement in the department and teams' collaboration at a lower cost.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp is advanced enough to support power users and project management professionals, while flexible enough to allow users with fewer requirements to get the job done in the same tool, and the same space.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp is a comprehensive platform but Zoho misses a lot of necessary tools. ClickUp has inbuilt tools required for fruitful collaborations and project management but Zoho requires a lot of integrations to match with what Zoho offers. ClickUp can have unlimited collaborators …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp is more user-friendly, collaborative, flexible and scalable as compared to the other tools I have used.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp's hierarchy and customizability is what led us to use ClickUp. The others cannot complete on this feature.
Chose ClickUp
We have compared different parameters such as usability, functionalities, cost, learning curve. And in the ended opted in for ClickUp due to a higher match with our requests.
Chose ClickUp
It has a friendlier interface, increases the number of available features, and is supported by integrations with third parties to meet all needs from a single platform. On the other hand, it is multi-device, and its tool for mobile teams offers everything that is needed to keep …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp's hierarchy is a big selling point, but they truly are as close to an all-in-one productivity platform as you can find!
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp is more customizable than any of these other apps that I have worked with. Asana is great, but it has some serious limitations if you are working with a team, including assigning multiple people to a task. The pricing is also much better than the other options.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp has very competitive pricing, and is generally more cost effective than its competitors at each feature tier. Asana is also a great product, and it does have some advantages when it comes to built-in tasks, such as approvals, or project management reports and …
Chose ClickUp
After spending a great deal of time with alternative tools, we found that the functionality and flexibility of ClickUp far surpassed other products on the market. The integrations alone meant that we could reduce or eliminate duplicate functions and keep our teams focused …
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp wins against these alternatives primarily because of lower cost and higher simplicity. Creating a task takes a few clicks, and the only remotely complex decision is which task list to connect. The flexibility, solid mobile app, and ability to tailor the task structure …
Chose ClickUp
First, was the message - we will work less and replace a lot of apps
Second, it is ease to use, clean and intuitive - anybody could start using spending a miminum amouny of time to learn
Third, the plans and prices - very flexible
Chose ClickUp
Jira was more expensive, but ClickUp competed directly with core functionality. However, in comparing them side by side, Jira felt to be more "mature." Meaning, Atlassian seems to know and anticipate use cases more thoroughly that ClickUp.
Chose ClickUp
Upper management and our PMO team had chosen to introduce ClickUp to my department.
Chose ClickUp
ClickUp stands tall against the productivity software I've used in past. The biggest advantage of ClickUp can be summed up in one phrase - "Less is more". By combining multiple features and functions in one tool, it has reduced the number of tools we use, which saves time and …
Microsoft Project
Chose Microsoft Project
Zoho Projects is indeed cheap, but its a cloud base management; you can't do anything with slow internet. Zoho Projects also has login issues, but Microsoft Projects don't have any problems like that.
Microsoft Project also has a tremendous and dedicated support team and has a …
Chose Microsoft Project
These other products are much simplified and easier to use due to not having all of the advanced features that Microsoft Project has built-in. However, they have all the necessary functionality to meet the needs if you're not trying to use all of the extra advanced features.
Chose Microsoft Project
Microsoft Project was selected because it integrates well with other Microsoft products and has better tracking and visualization tools that can be used with different projects.
Chose Microsoft Project
We chose Microsoft Projects as we have an ongoing relationship with Microsoft and we use their other tools. Most people in our office are familiar with Microsoft Projects and our customers are use Microsoft Projects too. It integrates well with other tools we use in our office. …
Chose Microsoft Project
In all cases where I didn't use Project, i used an application given by Excel freely as a template, when you open Excel 2013 or higher. It is basically a Gantt chart, with several capabilities built in. All what is necessary for you to do in order to quickly get a basic Gantt …
Zoho Projects
Chose Zoho Projects
I won't say that Zoho Projects is the best in comparison to its competitors, however, it does exactly what we need it to do and we are saving on the monthly fees we are paying for its competitors. The pros outweigh the cons. I would say that it's also not the fastest in terms …

ClickUp is well suited to organize projects and communicate internally with teams members and externally with clients or vendors. If you need to track emails, any emails responded to from an email sent within ClickUp is automatically tracked within the task where it originated. It also works great for storing document files within projects and tasks and tracking multiple versions of documents created or copied within ClickUp

Microsoft Project Online is suited to Turnkey Projects where more Collaboration is required in Project Progress monitoring, risk assessment and conveying, issue recording and tracking. My work involves projects of 5-15 people with numerous projects running simultaneously. Prior to Zoho, I did not have a central location from which to view all project statuses at once. Zoho looks to provide this and also looks like it will deliver. I am anxious to see how our organization's use of it develops. At this time, I feel I am likely to recommend Zoho Projects because my organization has made great software decisions in the past so I have a level of trust already that the research has been done that Zoho is the best solution for our line of work.

Pros
ClickUp
  • Customization is huge for us! We do not have the aspects of standard project management, so having the ability to customize basically everything in ClickUp is amazing.
  • An outstanding free version of the software! We are a small nonprofit organization that cannot afford the robust levels of other software, so having access to SO MUCH for free is incredible.
  • The layout and organization of tasks, Spaces, folders, etc. is perfect. I love how I can see which task all of my subtasks belong to on my dashboard. And the option to change colors and icons for everything also really appeals to my obsessive brain.

  • I love the Gantt Chart that Microsoft Project offers me, because it provides me with a view from various aspects, it provides me with exact details about the fulfillment of tasks over a period of time, it also allows me to make comparisons with the necessary data and the fulfilled data. by the employees, in order to know exactly if the project's expectations have been met.

  • The alert system for the fulfillment and delay of assignments is perfect. Microsoft Project allows me to configure the task system, I can assign the necessary tasks to fulfill the project, and the software alerts me immediately if the managers are fulfilling the assignments.

  • We use it to manage our sales orders as there are lots of moving parts which are necessary to get client orders done properly.
  • I use it anytime I have a new idea I want to put into motion. As I can create a list for brainstorming, feedback, specific actions necessary in order to test and or implement the idea.
  • Unrelated to business, it's a great way to plan travel in order to make sure you don't forget those important things like passport, flight arrangement, client meeting confirmation, and meeting prep as far as what specific documents or things do you need to bring with you.
  • And since everyone is on the go and expected to keep up with work, the mobile/tablet app makes it a breeze to keep up, work on, and create new projects.

Cons
ClickUp
  • I would like to see when scheduling a task for someone, their available hours, as I am scheduling instead of having to go back to the workload view
  • I'd like easier UX and understanding of what all of the different levels of folders, lists, tasks, can do and what they should be used for
  • Notifications can be cleaned up

  • Seems overly complicated for users sometimes in using Project and its functionalities
  • Hard to share files for those folks who do not have MS Project, and then have to print out for them
  • Can be confusing since it looks and feels like MS Excel

  • There is no ability to add custom fields in the "Bugs" module - for example, if we want to add fields such as Version Number.
  • Reporting is not integrated - its a fairly expensive add-on.
  • There is no easy way to track actual and completed dates for tasks - so historical variance analysis is not easy.

Usability
ClickUp
Because for me, working with teams, ClickUp has provided a service that we longed for. Something that is non-complicated and easy to maneuver. We understand the learning curve can be steep, but we are willing to give the software a chance because it is everything we hoped it would be. However, leadership found the project works for our organization at this time. Moreover, we can customize to our needs.

Project is easy to operate because data could be inserted, changed and

Reliability and Availability
ClickUp
For over a year ClickUp was unavailable to us just twice for a couple of hours. I would say for a system this big and working globally that was a minor issue. They managed to fix all the issues within a couple hours and then it was back up and running perfectly fine.

Performance
ClickUp
The speed of ClickUp is average to be honest. This is one of the biggest flaws of the system, sometimes it's also lagging a little bit but we also have a lot of documents, lists etc. on our workspace. However, with the next version of ClickUp I've seen they are planning to increase the speed by almost 500%, probably by changing the technology, so I am more than looking forward to it.

ClickUp
I started using ClickUp when it was what most would consider a baby company. There were the occasional bugs that made working in ClickUp a little bit of a headache, but the support feature allowed me to chat with a real persona and communicate my issues. I would always get prompt support and someone willing to really help me, not just point me to FAQ pages. Not feeling like a number really makes a difference.

Start small. Don’t try to build the most elaborate plans first. Resist the urge to get into Gantt charts if no one is used to them. Just get work written, add dates and assignees, and start getting used to it. If you did not use a work management tool before, you need to be gracious with yourself about the fact that you likely do not have the muscle memory for working this way yet. But you will get there.
And leverage people who know it if possible. Look for ClickUp experts and vendors. They can really supercharge your effectiveness at building the tool out and speed up the process.

I used Salesforce at my last job and would recommend ClickUp if utilizing the product for more than just sales. My last company tried using Salesforce for a number of other actions, such as department project tracking, client documentation, and outbound communication which did not work well. While many of the above tools are extremely well-versed, Microsoft Project's largest advantage comes from it being related to the largest business productivity company in the world. Project does have its sharing limitations - but regardless, offers one of the most robust tools in the market today. Microsoft Project is built with large-scale projects in mind but is more than up to the task for smaller projects as well. However, there are options available (especially cloud-based options) that may be more fitting for higher-level projects that do not require going into the weeds.

Zoho Projects provides a more limited set of functionality and customization options than other task/bug trackers on the market, but what it lacks in functionality it makes up for in ease of use. It probably has 80-90% of the features of its competitors but takes about a third of the time to get up and running and realizing value.

  • Project saved me, as the project manager, countless hours of digging through tickets and schedules to plan everything out. It also saved me time in adjusting the project triangle as needed, since it does so much automatically.
  • It is costly, and since it requires extensive training to master, it's not just the high licensing cost that you need to take into account.
  • The reporting features - even just printing out Gantt charts - makes it far easier to communicate with stakeholders. That means less time for PMs doing all of this manually, and it means less follow-up questions and delays moving forward.

  • It has kept our team accountable for what needs to get completed and when projects are not in motion or completed timely. It's helpful to know in order to get billing out faster.
