Considered Both Products
Webex Calling
Chose Webex Calling
Better features for the end users.
Chose Webex Calling
My favorite compared to the three above!
Chose Webex Calling
cost is one of the major point of concern. As teams has worked on its integration and performance, most of the webex base has shifted there. It would definitely top the rank due to better audio and video quality on enterprises package, but in general user can easily …
Chose Webex Calling
The calling features are choppy and not reliable. The audio drops and they offer limited federation setup making it more difficult to connect with other outside your organization. We need to reach vendors, engineers, doctors, ruses, etc that are not always part of our …
Chose Webex Calling
The scaling ability of Webex Calling is unbeatable and portrays the true cloud architecture. The near 0 lag and always up is easy to host, run & manage large scale events seamlessly. For admins they have managed Webex Calling since a very long time ago than the newer entrants. …
Chose Webex Calling
I was familiar with Vonage, but if you can compare with Webex Calling, I preferred Webex Calling which is better than other apps like zoom meeting, and Vonage.
Chose Webex Calling
The interface is a bit outdated vs Teams. Zoom works better for large group conference calls.
Chose Webex Calling
Select Webex Calling because it is a necessary and helpful communications software that works in our favor and that of our business, it is a tool that works perfectly to keep us connected through the screen, audio and video screen sharing with our colleagues, employees, and …
Chose Webex Calling
Some of the other products I've used may have a little advantage in a specific feature or platform, or cost, but no other product achieves the quality level and has a complete portfolio of solutions as Cisco.
Chose Webex Calling
We focused on Webex Calling to use since we sell it to our customer base.
Zoom Workplace
Chose Zoom Workplace
I think Zoom Workplace is about equivalent to the Webex suite. However, Microsoft has the edge due to the breadth of capabilities packaged with Microsoft 365/Entra.
Chose Zoom Workplace
We've selected Zoom because it integrates easily with our CRM and allowed to port our phone number. Unfortunately, their billing and tech support are really bad.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom is much better than Google Hangouts Meet and Cisco Webex. Google hangouts has a limit on number of participants and doesn't have the ability to breakout participants into groups. Also, google hangouts have been buggy for a very very long time. Additionally, we need a …
Chose Zoom Workplace
There are many other online platforms but the Zoom has the best user interface and features. Zoom is easy to learn for participants, which helps to attract more and more traffic towards Zoom. Zoom has a recording feature that helps to record the complete session and download it …
Chose Zoom Workplace
We went with Skype since the pricing was better compared to other options.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom blows all other competitors out of the water from a value standpoint. Features and ease of use are big advantages that Zoom has over its competitors.
Chose Zoom Workplace
There's a night and day difference between Zoom and a Webex call. Zoom is super easy to connect into, and very intuitive for users to use. Webex still looks like you need an engineering degree to have a successful session.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Price, features, conference rooms and reliability are all wins for Zoom.
Chose Zoom Workplace
It's easier and more cost-effective. It's a no brainer.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Hands down the ease of use for our hosts to initiate and our users to get on a Zoom session. We've used very little hardware so far but the fact that we were able to use Zoom with our laptops and desktops was a huge positive. Now we're looking to see the hardware for Zoom rooms …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Cisco WebEx is a very similar product and experience. However, Zoom is more cost-efficient and a better option for smaller organizations.
Chose Zoom Workplace
It is hands down, far superior to anything else we tried. The ease of use and the fact that it always works is priceless. With people being able to join before host we no longer have lost time due to waiting for the host to be ready. If host is late, everyone else can be …
Chose Zoom Workplace
When utilizing all of the applications for voice, video, and screen-sharing, I have seen that Zoom is user-friendly for experienced and new users. In addition, we have seen that the quality of video and audio do not decrease when you are utilizing other features, such as …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Webex has poor audio quality and it is difficult to add people on the fly.

Zoom is better in both areas. Also, Zoom is easier to use.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom is the leader, no contest!
Chose Zoom Workplace
I selected Zoom because it was suggested to me during a meeting. I also like that it is free to download, has clear audio, and doesn't break off during calls.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom is a lot better to use.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom is much easier to use with outside vendors when they need to come in for meetings.
Chose Zoom Workplace
As I mentioned, Zoom has a much more intuitive interface. It's integration with the Cloud is seamless for recording. It's management of individual users, and elimination of the need for one "single use" line, is superb. It's much less intimidating for our clients to use. Its …

Cisco
It seems quite able to handle the normal day to day voice call requirements quite well. Our previous Cisco phones had cameras that could do video calls, but if we need that we go to a Zoom session. Conference room use is not terribly convenient, although this might just be a case of us figuring out how to adapt the environment.

Integration with other products and the AI summaries have been huge wins for Zoom Workplace in our organization. They have been life changing for our team. Also, being able to make and receive calls from our cell phones rather than have to give out personal cell phone numbers has been wildly successful with our attorneys.

Pros
Cisco
  • Internal calling can be done by searching user in directory or by dialing short code extensions for users. Pretty quick and easy to reach internal people.
  • Webex Calling integrated seamlessly with call recording solutions making it very useful for compliance call recording which is needed by customer service centres today.
  • Features like call forwarding, call transfer, conference, voice mail, etc are available.
  • User authorisation for different types of calls is available.
  • It provides basic call centre features as well so that companies requiring basic call centre features can use it within Webex Calling.

  • I love how easy it is to set the focus on the presenter. It is annoying when people don't spotlight themselves as a presenter, so you get to see the whole gallery of attendees in smaller, two-inch windows.
  • I like the capability of having break-out rooms. Even though I don't use them very often, it is nice to have them available if the right situation presents itself for smaller group chats.
  • The recording quality is better than I have experienced with other products (Microsoft Teams, WebEx, etc.), and the fact that it is already an MP4, so I don't have to convert it for publishing on our intranet is huge to me.

Cons
Cisco
  • I think what it's doing is it is still the leader when it comes to being able to present calling platforms. And I mean I guess it's number one competitor from a software perspective is Microsoft Teams, Cisco is doing everything possible to provide open source to enable Microsoft and Cisco to work together, particularly when it comes to user room experiences so that no one is feeling like they're left alone or compromised or somewhat segregated when they're choosing one technology versus the other, which is a great thing.

  • Love notes - allow insertion of table or grid
  • Allow admin to turn off DND
  • Allow a way to group individual people chats - not channels just individual peeps into groups for ease of finding - like how you can group shared calendars into sections in Outlook

The service can be intermittent and the call forwarding feature will not always work perfectly. There will be periods of time where the calling feature will not work at all and people on the other end can hear me but I am unable to hear them. It also requires a fairly strong signal which can be an issue if you work somewhere remote or a building without much service.

We're sticking with Zoom for the foreseeable future--given its compelling feature set, ease of use, and advanced technology, there's just no other competition to be excited about. Plus it's a Gartner-recognized industry leader, so it's a rather easy choice.

Zoom is made for the non tech office. It has features that can be made to do what you need to run things on a day to day basis. Immediately we we able to get meetings going with remote employees. I've not actually had it ever be unavailable when I needed to use it. As mentioned before, a network outage would take it down, but we have redundant systems for our network connections with automatic failover.

I don't really see this impacting any other system performance at all. The client is very light use on resources, even on my iPhone. I don't know what else it connects to behind the scenes other then the campus directory, but I haven't seen or heard of any impacts. It seems fairly self contained except for wherever it interfaces with the general telephone system connectivity outside the campus.

Zoom has among the best performance of any video conference platform, as I've mentioned several times. Besides that, their Chat platform works great, and their back end always runs smooth. It's unfortunate that reporting can now only be done by one month at a time, but nonetheless, it only takes a second to run any kind of Zoom report, whether it's an attendee report, Poll results, a user report, a list of meetings from the past month, etc.

I have been working for a long time with Cisco as a provider and also Cisco TAC and Cisco Support Engineers. The support starts right beforehand in the documentation of the product you are interested in. From the start you have a good, complete, and detailed and easy to read datasheet and there's always someone available to answer any questions.

Because I got a response right away, and was assigned one specific individual to work with me from the beginning to the resolution. I had an actual email address and direct contact with this person without having to start over and over every time I contacted Zoom - this singular individual remained attentive and was well informed on the subject matter and quite able to resolve my needs.

The company uses Microsoft Teams. They do use Microsoft Teams right now and for a long time a lot of the different practices have been using on-premise, contact Call Manager and Unified Communications Express. But Cisco WebEx, the cloud-based product is one of the new ones. And some of our other site practices are also using RingCentral. So cloud calling is not new to the company. For those of us who are familiar with Cisco products, the transition to WebEx calling is not as difficult as it might be for some other products. Going from on-prem to RingCentral, there is more of a learning curve with.

Zoom Workplace is typically on the more expensive end against other options, but it's the industry leader for a reason. It has the most brand credibility by far, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. There are limitations when it comes to technical performance, customization and video/audio quality. I prefer Slack myself for communication apps, but Zoom Workplace is a good alternative.

The billing and price model is really fair for so many functions that they offer, our remote work requires each of the features that Zoom offers, so accepting payment for a tool like this is the least we can do. So far it has been very reliable, with very little down time that was associated with the product itself. We have had network outages due to external factors such as construction cutting a fiber link, but other than that kind of thing not much for failures.

Because the Basic licenses are completely free, and because it's very easy to configure and install Zoom, and because anyone can join Zoom from a link without needing an account, scaling is a Breeze. There are absolutely no roadblocks. My company keeps adding more Zoom Pro license every week since it's so in demand. We were able to convert users from several different platforms onto Zoom with no trouble at all.

Return on Investment
Cisco
  • Webex calling is a good solution for customer which are ready for cloud.
  • However some customers doesn't want to share their CDR to a UcaaS so Cisco shouldn't focus on cloud opportunity and up to me the gap of investment, marketing, evangelization is too big weighing the pros and cons for cloud too often
