I've used CrashPlan PROe (private cloud server with standard CrashPlan client) for three years, in multiple small business settings. At my current workplace, we've been using it since November 2015, on all our workstations and servers, to provide continuous backup to a dedicated Debian Linux backup server in a separate building, equipped with a ZFS zraid array.

We utilize CrashPlan as a data/disaster recovery tool. It has proven its effectiveness time and time again, with minimal work input. We use and manage it within the Information Systems department, but we have deployed the agent to multiple workstations, servers, and more to maintain data integrity. The most important problem it addresses in my opinion is data recovery in dire situations. The beauty of it is how simplistic it is, and I prefer that. With just a few simple steps, you can recover any data designated to be backed up within no time, and this is a major plus for me, as downtime within a medical facility sends staff into "panic-mode."

We used CrashPlan to backup the mobile computer of the travelling employees. We don't use it much anymore because of the Google Drive and Dropbox synchronization tools. It isn't for a specific department, but for a specific needs. For the local employees, it's easy to save on a local intranet or DFS, but when you work on the road, you want to work locally.

We utilize Crashplan to backup anything and everything deemed non-critical. It's non-critical in that our Crashplan install is only for on-site storage, we have a different system that pushes critical backups offsite. We used to have to decide whether or not the data on a machine was worth backing up and if so, allocate a quantity of storage on a backup appliance, or a backup license, or determine if we needed to pay for cloud storage space, etc. With our on-premise Crashplan install utilizing our own storage, there's no more decision making involved - does it have data that should be backed up? Back it up. It's simple, fast, and best of all, restores are almost fun. I have three backup systems in use in my org depending on the data type: critical (onsite + cloud offsite), non-critical (onsite only), and virtual (onsite + cloud offsite). Crashplan is by far my favorite and most widely deployed.

We've deployed CrashPlan to our management team and C-level execs (about 15 users total), because we realized we had critical data that was local to the users laptop. As a group, they all use laptops, so traditional "scheduled backup" software wouldn't suffice. We needed something that provided continuous backup, was flexible, centrally managed and did not use the public cloud. The only software that fit the bill was CrashPlan.

Our volunteers work in 84 countries around the globe with the main purpose of securing our corporate data. One of the challenges we found out during the implementation of CrashPlan PROe was that many of our people have personal and business data all mixed up. Now we allow them to backup personal data too but knowing that we might access that data in case of need.

We use CrashPlan as a supplementary backup for our file servers and we also use it to back up mobile computers. It is being used across the entire organization. We also resell CrashPlan to our clients as an endpoint backup solution. It allows us to reduce complexity by no longer requiring that our documents sync with our files servers.

We use CrashPlan to backup portable endpoints across all of the divisions in our organization. CrashPlan provides a very robust backup solution that allows the end user to perform unassisted data restores. CrashPlan is a great data recovery(DR) tool and we have used it in that capacity numerous times over the past three years.

We are continuing to roll out CrashPlan across our entire organization as our endpoint backup solution. We use it to make sure that our user's local data, particularly our mobile laptop users, is safe and secure. Traditionally we used network shares to store and backup data, but an increasingly mobile workforce makes that a poor process if the end user is rarely in the office to refresh changes.

We have been using CrashPlan site wide for about three years. We use it to back up our users' data as well as our departmental data. We are using a "hybrid cloud" structure which meets the needs our our users effectively. One of the more significant applications of CrashPlan is how it affects data and virus infiltrations. We use to panic if we were hit by any encryption/ransomware type viruses. Critical data was always at risk of at least some level of data loss. If we are hit now, we just clean the virus, and restore from CrashPlan. The level of stress relief of our users is always gratifying when they realize they didn't lose any data. We also use CrashPlan to restore data to users receiving new equipment. It is a very easy process, and it takes a lot of the data mining burden off our shoulders.

Crashplan is used by our organization as a multitennat resell service. So it's not really used by us (except for testing) but by our customers. This software is a very good endpoint backup and gives to our clients and us, the security to backup data.

What I can say is that we utilize this software daily and users really love the ease of use that comes with it. Not only is it easy for us to manage as the IT personnel it is also easy to teach users how to use it and how it works. We are looking forward to rolling out [version] 5.0 and use the mobile features as we use iOS devices very heavily in our organization. We use CrashPlan Pro and love it, I think more companies should use this software and learn the benefits of this great software.

CrashPlan is the best product for endpoint backup I have ever used. It is a light weight client that doesn't annoy the user. We use it to back up to the cloud sites that Code42 has around the world. My users are able to backup to the closest data center to them. This means that my Singapore users are backed up to the Code42 Data center in Singapore and not the US. Beauty of this is, that we keep the encryption keys in house so no one has access to them but us. We were able to deploy to our entire network in less than a week and their support is one of the best I have worked with. We had a C level employee that had destroyed his laptop and I was able to start a restore to a spare laptop. I then put the laptop on a MiFi device and hopped in my truck to drive it 2 hours to where the employee was. When I got there it was fully restored and ready to go. They also do legal holds on the data to allow you to execute and access data for legal cases with very little effort.

CrashPlan is in use as an emergency desktop backup tool for our top level executive administrative assistants. In the event of an infection or hardware failure, CrashPlan restores productivity to this target group faster than any other single tool we have available. It is used across the organization, in every division office, remote and corporate.

Currently we use Crashplan to cover endpoint backup for all our users in the environment. We also use it for backups of our file servers. We are currently looking into leveraging the software to help with user migration and potential legal compliance with the new tools Code42 has added to the software.

CrashPlan has been rolled out to all of our full-time employees. This is around 850-1000 employees total. Prior to CrashPlan, we did not have a reliable means to back up data on the individual computers other than having our end users save to network shares. Synchronizing this data for off-line use has always been messy but now we can safely allow data to be stored on the local hard drives. Additionally, CrashPlan is our primary means for data retention when a user is no longer employed. Data can always be downloaded from the administrative console if needed, especially when access to the physical computer is non existent.

We are using CrashPlan on a department-by-department basis. Our IT department were the first adopters and are the most vocal supporters to other departments. We now have three campuses and five departments fully involved, and we are rolling out to two other departments. We use it for backup of all our client PCs, and for the backup of 159 remote locations who needed a backup solution that could be throttled to run only at night on limited bandwidth.

Crashplan is being offered as an optional service to all departments. Adoption percentage is still small, but rapidly growing within and between departments. At this point in time crashplan is protecting around 500 extremely heterogeneous endpoints.

We used CrashPlan across the whole organization as, well, a "crash plan"! We needed a backup solution and disaster plan for our users. Previously we had a range of solutions that were either client specific and not comprehensive, or hard to manage. CrashPlan gave us one solution for all clients, that solved our issues when thefts or system crashes occurred.

CrashPlan is being utilized in our environment by executive leaders and their admins. Loss of data for these groups is a business critical issue, with CrashPlan we eliminate the need for archaic media; log in to the portal and restore, it's a simple as that. This simplicity allows IT groups to focus on other projects while the users are able to manage their own backup and restore points.

Crashplan is used for our endpoint backup protection throughout the organization. Initially, it was only used for VIPs, but after seeing its true potential, it was decided that we would use it for everyone. CrashPlan is being used by the entire organization. It addresses a need we had to ensure we had internet-based/cloud backup to eliminate the reliance we previously had on a VPN. It allows the company to safeguard data in a central [location] as the company is highly mobile and connects less and less via VPN as time goes on.
