Overall Satisfaction with Apricot by Social Solutions

I have two roles: First I researched and purchased Apricot as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of a start up nonprofit in West Michigan. I then went on to support that organization after its merger in a consulting capacity. I know support other youth serving non profits who use Apricot. Generally speaking, the organizations I have experience with use Apricot to track client outcomes, hold staff accountable, secure and report to grant funders and improve community strategic planning.
  • Form builder is easy to use
  • Standard user navigation is intuitive and looks simple to follow
  • Basic reporting and graph functionality
  • I appreciate how friendly and helpful chat ALWAYS is
  • I see the company invest in improvements regularly
  • I think the 360 Results Reporting is incredibly difficult to use
  • I wish there was a way to update colors across the platform to streamline with our branding
  • It wasnt clear when you export and import data that many of the reports will be forever impacted due to the "creation" date change.
  • Grant reporting and graphical expressions have helped secure funding
  • Overall cost of the platform is difficult to maintain
  • Costumer support and chat is always accessible, friendly and knowledgable
Yes I would say the organization that I have the most experience with has seen improvements to scaling because of the ability to quickly run reports on real-time data. It would be nice if there were more intuitive ways to build out causal connections between variables but overall the reporting and bulletins have improved staff accountability and decreased our overall time with data entry.
This is harder to answer but I guess I would say yes it has. Being able to describe Apricot in grant requests and the ways in which we collect information is clear to funders. Our graphs and basic reports on demographics and outputs are incredibly clear and easy to produce upon a funders demand.
The ability to customize Apricot and the simple interface is incredibly appealing. Salesforce CMS may be more well known, and cheaper for nonprofits, but it's also seen as the "Cadillac" version and is overwhelming for many small to mid sized organizations. The build out can be expensive as well, although there is a more general knowledge about the product and integration options.

Do you think Bonterra Case Management delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Bonterra Case Management's feature set?

Yes

Did Bonterra Case Management live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Bonterra Case Management go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Bonterra Case Management again?

Yes

I think for small to medium nonprofits, Apricot by Social Solutions meets the basic needs. I think because there are fewer orgs in this industry using this platform, there does feel to be a lack of general knowledge and support. Also, I think the price and standard package of 10 users does make it out of reach for many orgs. I would encourage a smaller package and maybe two tiers of HMIS packages.
