They are at the core of all of our client connections, in wiring closets, and some branch data centers. We use the monitoring features including Netflow AND SNMP in conjunction with vRops.
Pros
- They are reliable.
- They have monitoring features built in.
- They stack.
Cons
- The ports are somewhat set back in the chassis making it hard to access the disconnect on the cables.
- They have all lasted well beyond the 5 year depreciation cycle.
- They get reused in other projects because they are still a viable solution.
We have not fully implemented the builder at this time.
We have not used it to its full potential yet.
HP switches were used in our organization but many of those did not have as many of the features at the lower price point.
