Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 Defender
I use Microsoft 365 Defender to monitor mail flow, mail security and to remediate phishing emails. Protocols and recommendations within Microsoft 365 defender allows the organization to filter out mail threats that are sent out to users, most users are educated on being aware of phishing emails and all types of mail threats that are out there and how to avoid them but most of the time they find themselves not being able to distinguish a legit email from a phishing email so Microsoft 365 Defender helps filter out these.

- We are able to provide education on mail threats to users also knowing that they are protected by Microsoft 365 Defender
The cahllanges we faced were that users were not aware of mail threats and they could not distinguish between spam, phishing and any other unsolicited mail they received and would engage them causing issues with getting our network compromised.
The gap would be wide open allowing such threats to cause vulnerabilities in the organisation.

Microsoft 365 Defender has helped with relieving the team in constantly educating users about mail security now we got the freedom to do other tasks.
Yes, I can say the experience is very unique in that Microsoft 365 Defender readily responds to threats without admin interaction that is a huge advantage to other products out there. You can also set what it should do and how it should respond to threats if they are detected.
No, I was not part of the implementation and I believe we do not use Microsoft Sentinel or any other SIEM platform for that matter. We predominantly use Microsoft 365 Defender and that is the main mail security tool we use all the time. We could look into using these tools in the future.
First and foremost using a like for like product linked to its vendor is always going to be a smooth process i.e. Office 365 and Microsoft 365 Defender it will always work in tandem because of its integration, stacking up Mimecast Integrated Cloud Email Security with Microsoft 365 Defender is a tough one as both these tools are good in their own regard but I will always choose Microsoft 365 Defender because it really does provide an integrated system to Office 365.
