Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SAP BTP is used by us as a infra hosting platform. Where we are hosting our JAVA and HTML application on JAVA stack taken on SAP NEO Platform along with HANA DATA service from SAP NEO on SAP BTP.

We have taken SAP IAM, SAP Workflow and SAP Document service all hosted on same SAP BTP Platform.

Pros and Cons

SLA are market standards
Less operation resources needed for monitoring and maintenance of all infra and services
Timely patch upgrades provided by SAP.

SAP NEO Platform HANA service file system access is not provided to end user which is not good for daily operations
SAP BTP Document service- operation manual is missing.
SAP NEO is too rigid with respect to the infra and subscription model

Our services include SAP NEO Cloud HANA Service as database, SAP Document Service, SAP Workflow Service, SAP Cloud Connector and SAP Integration suite

Support Rating

In recent past we have seen multiple down times on SAP BTP the support during those were not great from SAP Side.
Even the root cause analysis was not up to the mark from them.
The most of the root cause analysis pointed towards the negligence and manual error from the SAP operation team.

SAP Business Technology Platform is well suited for the small and mid size company to have their infra setup as it will reduce the operation headache and the maintenance of the environment as it will be under support from SAP itself and customer can just use it as Software as a Service.

More larger companies who require more and more flexibility in their infra it is not that well suited and the environment is very closed with minimum access to to the outside changes.
