AcuBase Pro vs. zHealth

AcuBase Pro is the best software for the integrated medical practice because it allows for free form record entry and infinite form creation. One is not stuck trying to fit the unusual into the checks of screens or menus.

zHealth is perfect for new practitioners. Even if the doctor is not billing insurance companies, having all the patient information and billing data in one organized place is more valuable than a new doctor may realize. zHealth is also helpful in choosing the diagnosis codes. They have training, if you want it, on a regular basis. You also have access to easy step-by-step instructions on platform usage. zHealth will actually respond quickly to client questions. They are always polite and professional. An established doctor's office has to take into consideration, other than demographics, the data transfer. No platform has a system to extract the SOAP notes. It is a bone of contention for me for all the EHR software/platforms.

• Data dissemination from one entry to other points of data is thorough.
• It communicates directly with the clearing house, so I know within 24 hours if my claim was accepted and, if denied, why the clearing house or insurance company denied it.
• I can input blocks of EOB's.
• Batching groups of claims and sending in three simple clicks.

• Actually, I like it as it is.
• It would be nice to have a patient sign-in screen for documenting patient in-office.

• I would like to see direct links to Availity, Optum, and ASHlink.
• I would like more options on the type of appointment when I schedule.

AcuBase was in place when I purchased my business. I have not looked for other softwares because of the work involved in migrating all of the data into a new software. I have only generally searched for comparable products but I have not demo'd or used any other products

• The best part is how inexpensive it is. Cost is about $400 per year vs $1,000's per year for features easier to use and customize than the $1,000/s per year programs.
