Constant Contact
Chose Constant Contact
Constant Contact and Mailchimp are on pretty similar levels; however, I would say Constant Contact is more basic as far as campaign building goes than Mailchimp and Keap. They all keep contacts, but Keap offers more capabilities for the kinds of customer data you can keep in …
Chose Constant Contact
Overall, Constant Contact is the easiest to use with one of the lower price points. It is a great entry-level tool for a beginner in order to graduate into more sophisticated platforms. The design features are a good start along with the subject line testing which is helpful …
Chose Constant Contact

Constant Contact and MailChimp are somewhat similar in ease of design, use and cost. A few differences:

Keap
Chose Keap
Constant Contact is very good but limited to one or two uses compared to multiple uses for Keap. Pipedrive is even more limited and not as user-friendly. Hubspot is great but way overpriced compared to the value delivered by Keap. Mailchimp is just, well... cheap in my view. …
Chose Keap
As a past Active Campaign and Constant Contact partner, I can say that the marketing automation and end results are far better in the Keap Software. I have used many other email platforms with clients over the years and this is the only one I want to run my business on to date.
Chose Keap
Keap is much more affordable than HubSpot, and while it perhaps does not provide quite as much detail, you can get all the detail you really need for a small to medium-sized business with Keap. It provides so many more options as a CRM than Constant Contact or Mailchimp did …

Keap has better automation workflows and advanced campaign capabilities. I also find it easy to get my questions answered when I need help. The multiple integrations available also make it easy for me to continue to use other systems that I need in conjunction with KEAP.

The only one that even comes close would be ONTRAPORT, as none of the others do everything in terms of CRM, e-commerce, affiliate, autoresponder, etc. I chose Infusionsoft since I already knew and trusted them through use with another business.

Keap is the whole enchilada. These other platforms have great email blasts but no real task management, eCommerce, or lead tracking.
Chose Keap
The marketing and client management capabilities are much more robust on Keap.
Chose Keap
To be honest, these days they all seem so similar. It really comes down to getting an account with each and trying them out and see what works best for you and your team. Keap is a great product, but so are the others. We use them all uniquely based on the needs and the clients …

The others are not trying to be all things to all people. The others don't pretend their solution is the end-all-be-all to save small business owners. They are not all in one and don't pretend to be, regardless of the price points, from lower to higher. We used Infusionsoft …

Chose Robly
Robly is easier to use than Constant Contact. Robly's support staff is incredibly helpful. Robly AI makes it easy to send emails at the best time for the email recipient. Robly was a product that offered more customization and emails that looked more modern and appealing.
Chose Robly
We selected Robly because it was much less expensive, and more affordable for our organization. We are willing to work within what we feel are Robly's limitations because of the difference in the cost of an annual subscription between Robly and Constant Contact.
Chose Robly
Constant Contact was more expensive and didn't (I don't know what their functionality is now) have OpenGen, which is a great feature. However, their count of "opens" etc., was always up-to-date and accurate. They also had more flexibility when creating emails: more fonts, more …

Chose Robly
Tracking and follow up is better. I switched because I really like the follow up feature to those who had not opened first email.
Chose Robly
We were using Constant Contact for years and prefer Robly over it.
Chose Robly
Blows them out of the water. Better design, ease of use, formatting, layouts. Reports are more detailed. Worth the additional cost from CC. Client datebase mgmt is much easier and better tracking.
Chose Robly
Robly offered a better price with a more dynamic user interface.
Chose Robly
More functionality than Constant Contact.
Chose Robly
We chose Robly initially because they boasted the ability to receive 50% more opens through most email marketing campaigns. We've been happy with their service and software and plan to continue use [it].
Chose Robly
We chose Robly for the lower cost and OpenGen - it has served us better than Constant Contact which was more than triple the price.
Chose Robly
I like the OpenGen feature and the pricing is good. Being a nonprofit organization, we have a yearly budget so wherever we can save money it helps.
Chose Robly
Better formed campaigns, easier to use website & cheaper!
Chose Robly
The templates are easy and the price point is great if you only need a simple system to get the word out. For our organization it's been a great savings.

Constant Contact
Constant Contact is an excellent tool for sending out flyers and newsletters. However, I feel the content's appearance is typically all the same. When I receive an email from Constant Contact, I can immediately identify it - the templates usually all look the same. When sending out communications with images, it is easy to use Constant Contact and link webpages. However, the email layout is always vertical and can get very lengthy. I prefer a more flip-book approach with options to flip the page.

Keap
Keap is very good at contact management and automation creation but weaker at email campaign creation. I was particularly interested in a function where when manually entering a new contact, you are then able to email that contact using a premade HTML template. It will currently not do this. There is a workaround, but it is unnecessarily ponderous.

I would absolutely recommend Robly to my colleagues. I have used Robly for over six years now and have found so many positives over my years of using it! It provides an easy way for us to keep our contacts organized, and we can easily embed forms into our website. When comparing Robly's pricing options with other email platforms, it won by a landslide. Some small aspects of the program may seem a little outdated, but I have everything I need and more!

Pros
Constant Contact
  • Market segmentation is great: my main segmentation is by region because that's how our sales team is divided.
  • Lists: making customized email lists is easy and intuitive; the custom fields allow some flexibility in case our fields don't exactly line up with Constant Contact's.
  • Campaigns: creating campaigns is quick and simple. I especially appreciate the 'resend to non-openers' option. I am constantly using this feature.
  • Subject line generator: I like using the recommended subject lines. I'm able to plug in their recommended ideas, or sometimes, this feature helps me generate my own ideas.

Robly
  • Robly constantly updates the status information of each email that is sent from its platform, which helps to ensure that there are no problems reviewing the number of people among the targets that could be interested in our service or product, and become customers, when it is necessary to identify them from those who are not, and that otherwise would cause high error margins in the reports.
  • The software has a visual power that is very easy to extend through third-party platforms, allowing us to create content in services such as Photoshop, which we can then include in mailings, although it is also feasible to import the content in the traditional way, through image formats. Among these, the best one to work with is PNG, which allows us to remove the background content so that the important section of the image fits better with the format of the e-mails.
  • Robly works with services based on the optimization of group projects, whose integration serves to send emails to all participants equally, and that these are kept constantly notified about updates to the work, and can be coupled well in advance to these updates, so that no confusion arises at the time of unifying the work sent and points within the same should not be exposed.
  • In reality, Robly's technical support is something we have never had the opportunity to interact with, as the platform is not so buggy that we would need to contact them for advice. In any case, they are likely to show promising results considering the quality of the service.
  • It has been very easy to get familiar with the functions Robly has to work with advanced email address database configurations without losing track of the progress of each campaign, and this is thanks to the well-optimized structure of the platform.

Cons
Constant Contact
  • It would be nice if we had more customizable options for emails - like moving around pictures and text boxes, rather than a set spot for everything to go.
  • I would like it if multiple people could work on a document at one time. So if I'm in charge of graphics, I can get those updated while someone else is entering content, etc.

  • More articles and videos on how to use the various functions of Keap
  • Having representatives designated to certain regions or companies for a point of contact when help is needed
  • More options when building the emails. While the click and drop options can be a plus, they can also be negative because you are limited to image and text sizing and positions

  • I don't have many cons for Robly. One thing that would be helpful is concerning adding a set of emails to the contact list. It would be nice to receive a list of emails that are not added and a reason why (e.g., duplicate, etc.).
  • I have noticed that when I am editing an email campaign, at times it will unexpectedly stop showing me the text editing menu bar, and there doesn't seem to be a way to call it back up. This can be resolved by saving and exiting the campaign and then reopening, but it breaks into my work flow and is an inconvenience. I have not been able to find a pattern for the occurrence of the glitch.

There is no doubt that we are going to renew Constant Contact. We have invested a lot into Infusionsoft and are using it to automate our processes and marketing. Changing CRMs would have a HUGE cost for us and based on our evaluations, the grass isn't greener elsewhere. Infusiosoft fits most of our needs and is slowly getting better each year. Their support is great and we will continue to use them until something much better comes around or our company outgrows a small business CRM.

Usability
Constant Contact
There is always room for improvement. I don't know how they test their systems, but they should invite not-so computer savvy people to test it. If I, as an expert have problems, they need to think like the technophobe. Since I've used Constant Contact in the past as part of my former employment, I have not viewed any of the tutorials and just jumped in to work on my client's newsletter. With that said, I found some areas easy and some a bit cumbersome

You do need to spend some time on-boarding and implementing the software in order to have full functionality. We were lucky - we had colleagues at the university with experience with Keap and then hired an intern familiar with the software to get us set up and ready to use it. We've had some functionality issues with it along the way and that has frustrated myself and the other uses in our department.

Implementation is very easy for someone who wants to send out the “batch and blast” type newsletters. If you want to use their templates with no customizations, the product works fine. Alternatives Considered
Constant Contact
Constant Contact is much more intuitive for people who are not tech-savvy. Also, while sendgrid offered more options in it's drag and drop interface, it displayed differently across different email clients, which made it very cumbersome to use. It also took much longer to upload contact lists and it was harder to manage existing contacts. Performance in sendgrid was much slower as well, and the Preview feature was quite buggy. Our team initially chose sendgrid because of the integration options that it's API offered, but we ultimately switched to Constant Contact because it was much easier to build campaigns and better suited our requirements.

Robly has much of the same functionality as Constant Contact. I find Robly's interface to be more intuitive. Robly allows us to upload as many images and documents as we want, without charging us extra. Robly's subscription price is lower than Constant Contact. Their newsletter archiving is also more robust. With Constant Contact, I felt "nickled and dimed." Not only is Robly's base price lower, it's the price! You can upgrade to unlock more sophisticated features.
