Because it lets you record, edit, and share there is no reason to learn one or two software for capture and editing, and another for sharing. ilos is not targeted at intermediate or advanced users, so the ability to manipulate your content - specifically when editing, is very limiting to more experienced users.

I like that it auto-corrects punctuation, capitalization, etc. as I polish the scripts. It's easy for my team and my collaborators to read/listen, remark, and create useable transcripts. It's able to do a lot more and really save us tons of time. Other Adobe apps are great, but take a while to learn. Descript is very user-friendly, making it easy to start from day one with very little training.

Kaltura , but the more limited features made ilos seem more approachable for novice users. Price was also far lower because of the limited focus of ilos.
Kaltura did offer more tools for marketing/public purposes - such as streaming, capture integration, and video portals - but none of those are necessary for us.
