Yoast offers a set of tools developed by Joost de Valk and team, founder of yoast.com and Wordpress enthusiast. These tools are designed to help content rank higher and are subsumed under the Yoast Complete pack, which includes Video SEO for rank climbing with embedded videos in a Wordpress site, WooCommerce SEO for the WP ecommerce plugin, News SEO for rank climbing in Google news, Local SEO for (as the name implies) climbing in local listings with more complete information so can be located…
I prefer Moz Pro to SEMRush and Ahrefs Site Explorer because I think it is much easier to use and understand. I believe it can be used along with SpyFu because SpyFu has alot of Google Adwords information that can be used in competition analysis that moz doesn't have. These two …
Moz seemed to be more user-friendly than SEMRush and Screaming Frog, and it allows us to do what we need to do (identifying issues with our site, keyword planning, competitor comparisons, etc). Other services would most likely provide more in-depth analyses and crawling …
Personally I think Moz is one of the top tools being used in the market for search engine optimization. It provides great insights, is easy to use and is easy to read and understand with their simple and comprehensive dashboard. I personally choose to use SEMRush above all …
The two closest competitors are Ahrefs and SEMRush, with additional tools upmarket.
Each platform has its own strengths, and we use all three at FMI. For Moz, we most like the Keyword Explorer toolset and its recommendation engine and filtering mechanisms - it's a big difference …
While I prefer to use SEMRush for a more robust competitor analysis, Moz has keyword tracking down to an art. The ability to track keywords and see changes over time eliminate the tedious need to manually track changes.
SEMRush is a great competitor tool but is a bit weak on the "SEO Campaign" side of things, where you can track specific rankings and onsite issues, etc. Their "Projects" section comes close though, and I probably just need to spend more time with SEMRush to discover everything …
We looked at Semrush, and while it looks like a more advanced platform, it was just too much for our needs and where our team was starting at. We needed something with a learning curve that wasn't nearly as steep. If we did more with paid search, though, I might take another …
A[s] we all know Ahref or Semrush are very expensive tools. Startups cannot buy these tools. Moz Pro is reasonable and it gives you multiple features at [a] lower price.
Moz Pro fit our needs and offered competitive features to Semrush. Semrush may be more fit for larger businesses or those looking for multi domain support. Moz offers multiple domain support, but may not be as intuitive as Semrush. Ultimately Moz affords us all of the tools we …
Moz Pro is a nice intro tool that got us started on our SEO journey. We have chosen to supplement our Moz Pro account with other SEO tools to get a full picture of our SEO landscape and make a bigger impact on our rankings. I would recommend Moz Pro as a good start for a …
Moz tends to be more consistent with their data/metrics. Their crawler is also pretty powerful and able to pick up large sets of pages where some other tools may fall short.
Compared to full-service keyword platforms like Conductor, Moz blows it out of the water in terms of pricepoint and value. Moz is insanely cheap compared to something like Conductor, and it seem to offer just as much value. As long as you're just looking to get basic numbers in …
I think all SEO tools have their pros and cons, but Moz is a heavy hitter. They are the resident authority for educating SEO's, and that is for a reason. Their product works well. I wouldn't say it is head and shoulders above any competitors, but it gets the job done. When it …
I like that I don't need to download anything to use all of the features MOZ has to offer. It is all contained online, so I don't have to open separate applications. And the cost is extremely reasonable.
To be totally honest, the user-interface with Google Analytics is so terrible that I could hardly ever figure out what it was communicating. Moz was easy to use from day one and I can feel like I understand SEO a bit after using the site for just a short time.
I've recently noticed we're using SEM Rush a whole lot more nowadays for rank tracking. In fact, it's the first time we've gone to the highest package across multiple client accounts due to the ability to plot rankings amongst competitors in a cool visual way, the ability to …
Moz stacks up particularly well against SEM Rush because of how user-friendly and intuitive the software is. It also delivers the data I'm interested in in a way that's more useful.
SEM Rush's keyword research tool provides smart suggestions for semantically related keyword …
My favorite tool is SEMrush. I selected Moz to help with link-based research because SEMrush is more focused on keyword data. For the link-based data, Ahrefs is probably the biggest threat to Moz. It has an amazing amount of data, and from the chatter I hear the data is more …
We use Raven Tools and Moz. Raven Tools aggregates Moz data through their partnership, so if you only have $100 a month to spend, consider Raven Tools. SEOmoz vs Majestic SEO - Moz has more more user friendly tools and interfaces but Majestic is more powerful. Majestic has …
We use Yoast SEO from within WordPress sites to help with the effectiveness of individual pages and posts. It has great value due to being built-in to the website. Semrush provides us with a much more detailed analysis though to look at the overall health of the sites and has …
Moz is not as in-depth and not the best for overall strategy. It has some great features but is not a complete system. Semrush has everything you need and is of great value.
Semrush is amazing. Not only is it easy to use, it's better than Moz or Ahrefs combined. The Keyword Research tool and planner is incredible. it makes it easy to pull what keywords we want to rank for and add them to our keyword list. It's helped with productivity and workflow. …
As an agency starting out I began with Moz. While my memory is not that great of those earlier years, it served us well but we switched because we were looking to upgrade at the time and found RavenTools had a better offering for the money. Again we really enjoyed Raven and …
Overall, I preferred the structure and the completeness of the SEMRush tool over the competitors. Many competitors had multiple tools to log into and learn with different interfaces and looks. Love how SEMRush has everything in one place and is more intuitive then these other …
Moz isn't very powerful and better suited to beginners. Ahrefs is on par with Semrush, just a personal preference. Rank Ranger has inaccurate data and a terrible user interface.
[Semrush] is a better overall tool for SEO management. It has so many different tools that you can use. Moz doesn't offer everything, but has its own benefits, which are more focused around serps and keywords. Ahrefs is particularly good when working with backlinks. Much …
Semrush is more intuitive and well-rounded. I didn't use Ahrefs too much, but it felt more complex to use and a bit more fragmented. Moz seemed to diminish in usefulness from when I started using it. Semrush does everything Moz does, but better, more comprehensively, and with …
Moz is the main tool I used before SEMRush. I found Moz to be very helpful and robust in a lot of ways, but extremely lacking in terms of the competitor analysis. SEMRush has a much stronger system for analyzing competitors, which is of high value to my clients. It also has a …
Provides the easiest results and provides the best insights based on those results compared to other programs. Semrush, while the platform could use a fresh coat of paint, provides the most information in the most organized way without having to spend a ridiculous amount of …
Moz was unreliable and not as intuitive as Semrush. The one thing I liked better about Mox Pro was that we could track the same keyword across many zips. This is possible in Semrush, but Semrush requires you to create a new project for every zip. It would be easier if you could …
Semrush has an easier interface. Even an entry-level analyst can easily navigate and compile useful data. I did not like Ahref's interface. Ahref's gave more details on certain digital marketing activities but it was not presented in an easy to use way, and clients like the …
We chose Semrush because of how it integrates multiple services into one subscription. Rather than having one subscription for social media, one for listing management and one for SEO, we're able to get all three of these needs met in one service. The customer service is also …
Semrush gives you a complete overview of all the metrics that you should monitor in terms of SEO , so no need to check other tools. It makes you save a lot of time and act fast.
They're all really similar and perform a lot of the same functions. We use Semrush because we've had it for years and our grandfathered cost makes it more affordable than the other tools, plus we're all trained in it and ingrained in it. All of these tools are solid at older …
Semrush gives us all the data we need in one dashboard. It works much better than using many different tools. There are tools that are better for certain aspects, but none that provide the depth of data available in Semrush.
I used Moz for years before switching to SEMrush (I was trained on it at my old job), and SEMrush is better in just about every way except for maybe blog content/resources.
Ahrefs looks like a worthy competitor and we may have gone with them if SEMrush were not more affordable. …
Ahrefs = These are pretty similar, I'm just more familiar with SEMrush TapClicks = They don't have all the features of SEMrush Majestic = Purely backlinks
I alternate several tools. But for example, I used to use Moz and Ahrefs, now I only use Semrush for technical issues.
For Keywords research I use Semrush and others, to have different sources of information and compare to validate.

Yoast is essentially a light version of SEMRush combined with WPMU Dev. It features the most important on-page optimization features, while SEMRush and WPMU go into more detail.
From a micro-business perspective, it's cost prohibitive to fund a true "all in one" SEO solution. SEOquake and SEMRush are great for SEO data, site analysis and competitive analysis, but we at this time we want content focus, which is where Yoast shines. Longtail Pro is …
Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugins is the simple solution that most small businesses are looking for. It gives you quick easy tips that can be followed according to best practices. If you're looking to increase your SEO investment, you can pay for bigger tools like SEMRush that give …
Yoast's free tools compete, with the affordability of the premium plugin making it an even better deal. We briefly used SEMRush due to a partnership with a local SEO firm at my previous position, and while it was also fantastic service, I found that it was significantly more …
Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugins was a little easier to understand and offered a real-time guided plugin that helped me write throughout my drafting process. Semrush was much more helpful as a reporting tool, not so much in content creation. Both tools are useful in different ways, …
Yoast is different from other SEO tools because it's the most simple, user-friendly tool and its built straight into WordPress. It belongs there! You don't have to do any copy/pasting or using any other third-party tools. You just draft your content, and Yoast gives you all the …
Yoast WordPress SEO Plugins is better than some other apps only because it is integrated into your WordPress. You have everything inside your dashboard. Sure, there are some other more powerful SEO tools, but Yoast is right where you need it. The best way is to use it alongside …
The only other plugin I've used that's similar is the all-in-one SEO pack, but it wasn't visible in the options above. Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugin is different from Moz because it's on your website and will actually make edits to your website, whereas Moz contains external tools …
Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugins are very easy to get started. Its suggestion for focus keywords and readability score based on the content helps us to quickly publish search engine-friendly web pages. Unlike other popular SEO products, Yoast plugins are integrated into WordPress …
Yoast doesn't even compare to these other products. I would spend more time learning about SEO and doing everything yourself rather than trusting Yoast to do it for you. I chose Yoast only because of the off-platform websites we have and the clients wanted to understand the …
It does not appear to be on the list, but the one SEO plugin that we have tested against Yoast is All In One SEO Pack. After comparing the two we decided on Yoast as we felt that overall it just did a better job. If we didn't have Yoast that would be our second choice. In …
Yoast is unique in the sense that it makes implementing SEO recommendations that we pull from the other comparable tools a real breeze! It's simple to use and saves hours that would ordinarily be used for training and can be used for the implementation of recommendations. No …
Yoast is much easier to use than many of the more advanced SEO tools. That being the case, it is a perfect solution for beginner and intermediate users. Since most of our clients fall into that category, Yoast SEO is a tool that they can feel confident using to optimize their …
Yoast is less robust than the standalone pay services that stand on their own outside of WordPress. Moz is a great research tool, especially for agencies like ours. It gives us access to insights for several clients with ease. That said, it is expensive, and once you get the …
Ultimate SEO is a pretty good plugin, but it's really meant more for the "power-user" SEO person. For the average user I've found from feedback to be too complicated.
Yoast WordPress SEO Plugins are the best-in-class tools. They are better than what we have used before because they are more robust and have greater capabilities. In today's fast-paced business world, our company doesn't have time to utilize a bunch of different SEO tools and …
Businesses looking to keep track of their web presence and utilize a tool to identify areas of opportunity. The trends tracking and competitor modeling allow businesses to be able to build an SEO strategy that they can track progress over time and fill in content gaps. This is used by our company in conjunction with our marketing automation tool and Google's web presence suite (eg. Google Analytics, Search Console, Tag Manager).
This is suited to plan for keywords in a single market, but it struggles when you need to consolidate several markets. It is well-suited to discover new keywords directly related to the ones being used currently to expand the content the company is creating to get better results.
Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugins is really great for any application - home pages, blogs, etc. It saves a lot of time researching keywords, but it is time-consuming crafting content, which I think is a necessary evil. I wasn't really seeing the immediate results I had hoped for, but there could be a variety of reasons for that (cookies, caches, etc.). Overall, if you have the time to dedicate and utilize the tool, it's awesome!
Some of the auto-gen visual tables aren't all that useful for smaller companies. For instance on the Search Visibility tab, many of my clients have a tiny % of keywords in the top-10, so the table shows basically 4 overlaid flat lines. I wish we had some options to customize this table or expand the range or something.
I wish there were some more tools relating to the technical aspects of the site/pages. The whole tool is very keyword-oriented, which is fine, but I feel like over time this has become and will continue to be less important than technical aspects, site speed, voice search, etc.
There's an Anchor Text tab, but it only looks at Inbound links—I wish this feature was for on-site anchor text—this could be a much better optimization tool. Because there's nothing you can do about inbound link text.
Density: Because even the free, basic Yoast SEO tool has SO MANY FEATURES, if you're brand new to SEO as a concept/practice, you might feel a little overwhelmed at first. Just go watch the training videos!
Bulk Title Editing: I'm sure this tool can be useful, but I've never found it to be particularly intuitive or helpful.
Limitations: I'm grasping at straws here, but it would be nice if some of the premium (paid) features- specifically the social media previews- were available in the free version. Like I said, grasping.
We've been paying monthly for Moz for at least four years. We rely heavily on it for our daily work, and would need to re-engineer many of our processes if we were to cancel our subscription. I suspect we'll continue to use Moz as long as we are in business (assuming they maintain their quality).
it's easy to use once you get the hang of it and most people with any sort of background in using online tools and analytics systems can figure it out. it's just not as intuitive as it could be like google webmaster tools or Adobe (Site Catalyst)
The interface is a little less intuitive than it could be. The data is often available but filtering and manipulating the data can be a little difficult at times. Expanded comparisons would be helpful since most of the time seeing more than a few competitors at a time allows for a better sense of how to forecast.
It's super easy to use. Really, it requires little-to-know tutorials or walkthroughs at all — it explains everything you need to know in the description and tooltips built straight into the tool. I've never had to google a how-to or tutorial to use Yoast — it just works, and it works well
As I have mentioned before, if you have enterprise subscription, the staff are super helpful. Moz also participated in the marketing tech conferences especially moz in seattle. These sessions are super useful in helping digital marketing analyst like me to investigate new marketing techniques, tracking leads and conversions and eventually monetize them. Their staff is not only knowledgeable in their own product but they have been around. For example Dr Peter from moz always publishes his insights and I have relied somewhat on his opinions.
I'm in a FB group for Semrush paid users and it amazing! They are fast to respond, take suggestions and help with questions. I have not felt alone in using this product at all. Highly recommend their support team. When I had an issue I can jump into the group and they will help get me the right person to help or even tag their programmers to look at something that is going on. Love the group!
There are plenty of amazing articles published on their site, however, I don't rate their actual support team as being particularly helpful. I made multiple points of contact regarding the internal link counter not working and even though they began troubleshooting I think when it became too hard it was just forgotten about and so is still unresolved.
Moz emerged as an industry leader with a great reputation for driving optimal SEO performance and ROI for customers. Moz' thought leadership on all things SEO gave us a lot of confidence to invest and partner with them. The wide array of product features was also something that was important to us relative to Moz' competitors. In the end, we felt there wasn't anything we couldn't do with Moz. We were also impressed with the on demand platform training and tools provided from day 1. Lastly, Moz was one of the more expensive platforms, but it wasn't the most expensive, so we felt we received great value for the overall price.
We have used both Ahrefs and Semrush extensively at our agency and Semrush remains the tool of choice. We find that Semrush has the largest selection of tools & features to use, with the highest accuracy, and provides top-tier analysis recommendations. It's really is the ultimate all-in-one tool when comparing other performance measurement tools in the digital marketing space.
This is my go-to plugin for SEO. It is easy, and I trust Yoast will give me solid results. In a short time period, our website has seen measurable results in organic search traffic. Our previous website didn't use page level SEO tools to this extent. We are systematically updating each page using the Yoast WordPress SEO Plugin. We are pleased with the results
Here I can easily find competitor's ranking keywords and their backlinks. It also gives you another exciting feature where you can compare two domains at the same time.
The thing that I don't like about this software is, that sometimes your page can take too much time for crawling.
Using Semrush on behalf of our clients, we have seen some impressive growth in organic visibility, traffic, conversion and revenue, across multiple industries.
The site checks available with Semrush have helped us to pitch and sell our services, securing new clients.
Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugin along with other SEO investments we have made with our new website has extremely paid off on new business opportunity creation. Since August 2018 we have added over $100K of new business opps solely sourced from SEO searches on pages and posts that Yoast has helped us optimize.
Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugin saves our marketing team a lot of time. Since the plugin lives in WordPress and provides live tips we can make to the page or post, our team doesn't have to guess on what keyword, or meta-tag, or how many internal and external links a page or post should have using an additional platform. It is just conveniently there for us to use regularly.
Yoast Wordpress SEO Plugin cannot be the only piece of software your website relies on to obtain SEO optimization with search engines. It is a piece of the puzzle, and you can only maximize its' value by making sure your website is scam free, the code under the hood is healthy, and the load time and page weight is light.
