Qlik Sense has helped us uncover some areas we need to improve upon. By quickly being able to identify issues we are better able to respond to problems and be proactive to potential issues in almost every single department. We are able to dig deep into ERP transactions to find the root causes of the issues quite easily as well.

From the development standpoint, it's simple to get up and running with minimal issues. You can very quickly sort out good data from bad. It's such a powerful tool, I'm not sure we would be where we are now without it.
  • Tracking transactions
  • Automatically loading the data on the schedule you want
  • Ease of development
  • Licensing costs
  • Ability to scale back licenses, or modify license types - i.e. move users from Professional to Analyzers
  • Suggestions for how to clean up synthetic keys
You really don't need up to the minute stats for tracking sales, so hourly/bi hourly reloads are fantastic. It doesn't work so well in extremely complex data models, or at least the models are difficult to mash together. I was asked to create a graph that was pretty crazy, it mashed up 5 different financial calculations, if it's a monthly calculation, it creates some weird numbers.

We use Qlik Sense to give immediate access to a wide spectrum of global employees to understand the live KPI performance which drives our business performance. The user interface is modern, customizable, and intuitive, lending itself well to a broad level of IT capability.
  • An intuitive interface, so all levels of ability can easily pick the product up and use it.
  • The ability to build large data models and view the interdependent relationships.
  • The ability to scale and roll out quickly and securely.
  • Occasionally the programming interface only lends itself to "experts." A set of "wizard" prompts would be brilliant to help guide.
  • Would love access to resources to build compelling user case scenarios to convince the business to roll out en mass.
  • An online training academy/training resources to get users "qualified" would be helpful.
Suited if you need a dashboard to communicate simply and efficiently.

Qlik sense, at the moment, is only being used by our department, as we are busy creating new models from old existing QlikView models. Afterwards, it will be used by various departments in the organization to analyze and compare data.
  • A beautiful design of both the front-end and the back-end. Specifically, the back-end looks a lot neater now than compared with Qlik View.
  • Data visualization is made really easy by Qlik Sense.
  • Easy to understand and to start creating models with it.
  • Can be a little difficult to get used to where all of the features are located.
  • Qlik Sense is lacking a lot of features that'd make it a much better tool for data analytics.
If the colleague needs/wants to analyse or compare data in an efficient, easy, and very customizable way.

It is being used to analyze our sales data, drill down into the categories that we focus on, and look at trending data and vs budget. It is being used across the company to see high-level sales and also to look into department-specific KPIs and ad-hoc data analysis. Reports are consumed across the company and specific users are able to build their own chart with the potential to have them create their own reports in the future.
  • Scripting language
  • Easy to create visualizations
  • Drag and drop UI
  • Presentation is simple and clean
  • A little buggy.
  • Set analysis can take some time to get your head around.
Qlik Sense is very well suited to situations where you need a simple way of presenting complex data. It has a lot of visualizations which can be dragged and dropped onto the page, which also means it is fairly easy to set up some self-service analysis. Being able to take the visualizations and sheet created and embed them in a web page helps to get them onto large screens in the department offices.

Qlik Sense is used enterprise-wide in our organization. This will serve/help to understand the health of the client, utilization and other operation related areas.
  • Architecture. When it renders the info it brings it from memory. No need to talk to a connected backend every time which will help improve the performance.
  • Interactive analysis where almost anything can be searched from the depths of data through global search and selections which respond quickly.
  • In our CNT dashboard, in addition to dashboard metrics, we have to provide the info to Excel and other formats. Qlik Sense is able to do that. It's one of the cool features Qlik Sense has.
  • From a GUI features point of view, I feel like improvement needed. when we are implementing CNT or Client dashboard, where the business wants some specific sort of GUI features and colors, out of box Qlik Sense doesn't not able to support it. We have to see a third-party app to integrate and meet the requirements.
  • Often in the edit modes of scripts or storytelling, the software hangs and becomes unresponsive. We have to restart from the beginning.
Qlik Sense is well suited in marketing to show numbers. It is a solid rendering system without talking to backend each time. However, more out of box GUI features are needed in Qlik Sense.

Qlik Sense is being used across the whole of my organization for various purposes, which includes assisting management in extracting BI from raw data we have on certain products and/or to help drive strategy based on such information, or monitoring the health of our risk portfolio and insuring data integrity. For me it presents data in a meaningful and easy to understand manner through an extremely user-friendly interface.
  • User friendly interface that is simple (even for first times users) to use/navigate
  • Powerful filtering tool which enables the user to extract information they need effectively on a timely basis
  • Really useful graphical representation of information which can be used as direct input into reporting
  • Can be slow/clunky to load at times (might be due to the sheer amount of data)
  • For some reason bookmarking does not seem to work/save my filtered view (might be due to our internal system)
I personally see that Qlik Sense is great for large enterprises where they need to make sense out of large chunks of data for both strategic and regulatory purposes - but first and foremost they will need to have the infrastructure in place to capture large amounts of information of the business activities they are engaged in. At the same time I can see it being an issue where there is too much data as I would imagine Qlik Sense would be limited to how much information it can process. It is also probably less useful in smaller companies which do not have as much information.

We are using it internally to unify reporting standards across the company and to provide visuals for our own clients. It helps users from all department have a single version of the truth for numbers in the company.
  • Easy to use for all types of users.
  • Quick and fast solutions for users.
  • Very scalable.
  • Load scripting tool is great.
  • Would like to have a better way to access live data.
  • Pixel reporting should be built into the solution.
  • Mashups should export out of the box.
Does a great job for experience and inexperienced end users to access and interact with their data.

We use Qlik Sense at the IT department for gathering and show data from different sources in an interactive view. We plan to spread the use of Qlik Sense to more departments and integrate it with other systems as well. The reason we have not maximized the use of Qlik Sense is only organizational - the lack of time!
  • Very simple and useful views make Qlik View easy to use for end customers.
  • Interactive views gives end users possibility to tweak the data as needed
  • THe UI is so nice and modern!
  • Sorry - I can't really find any disadvantages!
We use it to collect data from i.e. user catalog - we can log user rights as well as security issues .

We extensively used Qlik Sense to deliver analytics and technical consulting services to mobile operators across Europe and Asia. We are not a reseller of Qlik Sense but we promoted Qlik Sense to an operator by showing its flexibility. Unfortunately due to close to zero support from Qlik Sense we are seriously considering other BI solutions.
  • Flexible, highly customizable, very stable BI platform
  • More sophisticated and flexible base graphical components.
  • Sales support from Qlik Sense practically disappeared. Nokia is simply not able to buy from Qlik their products. Requests and e-mails asking for resolution of this problem ASAP was simply ignored by Qlik since [we got a new] contact person. We get the impression that Qlik is not a future-proof product, they are about to abandon its customers and disappear from the market.
Qlik Sense is a very good product but due to close to 0 sales support from Qlik Nokia will not be able to use it any more. This is a shame

Qlik Sense is our company’s primary BI tool for 3 business units, currently expanding to all BU’s
  • Processes large datasets.
  • Easy to deliver/deploy.
  • Great user experience.
  • Needs better white labeling.
  • More descriptive error messages.
  • Better resource sharing.
Qlik is great for exploratory analytics, not great for processing large blocks of text.

In our company, we use Qlik Sense to tell story's and keep our management up-to-date with all the company and department-wide changes. It has helped in creating visibility on the user end. We have absolutely enjoyed using Qlik Sense as it is data-driven with the option of self-service which makes it more valuable.
  • It helps in telling a story
  • Self-service: which allows the users to create their own visualizations.
  • Governance makes it easy to monitor licenses and allocate them.
  • It provides room for innovation and creative thinking. However, with better color schemes and visualization, it can be made better.
It has helped us to maintain cost centers which has been a huge win for the company to maintain its expenses.

It's used by just myself but hopefully more members of my team and others in the near future.
  • Fast associative processing
  • Visualize data
  • Handles large data sets
  • Scripting language is very technical for some users.
  • Very limited customization of dashboard layouts.
Well suited for quick basic analysis of a data set. Not well suited for advanced dashboarding.

Qlik Sense enters into our organization to replace Microsoft Analysis Services cubes and Excel+Sharepoint reporting. Business users claimed poor performance of the Excel reports and that they miss insights and data discovery capabilities. We have too high dependencies on the Microsoft services provider who develops an unmaintainable and infinite sets of ETLs packages in Visual Studio. Those issues got us stuck on developing new KPIs, unable to expand through our large sales force. With Qlik Sense, we have been able to face this problem and get a shorter time-to-build analytics solutions for our business users.
  • Solve complex information problems. If you have complex measures, set analysis expressions will get you a best performance solution.
  • Blend many data sources. Associative engine lets us mix data from many different data sources (SQL Server databases, Excel, Oracle, MongoDB) in an easy way.
  • Get instant insights. We don't aggregate, we load data at minimum level. It enables business users to gain insights and search with no limits through the data set.
  • Data Governance. There is no built-in tool to achieve data governance processes: data quality, data lineage, profiling... You have to build the new product Data Catalyst.
  • Advanced Analytics. There is no built-in solution. You have to do it in an external tool (R, Python) and connect it through a connector not so optimized for high data volumes.
  • Reporting. You have to purchase NPrinting to have a reporting designer and distributing tool.
  • Pricing. Not flexible and quite expensive.
Qlik Sense is perfect when you have to build dashboards that combine data from different data sources. The time to develop data model is faster than any other BI tool.

I work with Qlik Sense with both departments and enterprises. I have significant experience working with competitors products. Overall, I have 20 years of BI experience and a solution agnostic point of view.
  • Scales marvelously thanks to its very mature in-memory engine. Response times for users are excellent for even non-optimized data models when deployed on hardware with appropriate RAM.
  • Users genuinely solve business problems within minutes of loading their first data set. The simple but comprehensive explorability of the data is second to none in the market place. Tableau and PowerBI are on the same playing level here. Qlik's jargon for this is their "associative engine," which really is a technical term, that doesn't describe the benefits.
  • Self-service with Qlik covers these areas: 1) reusable data models for power users - avoiding multiple sources of truth, 2) ability for users to click edit on a published dashboard, create new views seamlessly without disrupting the production copy and a process to fold changes back into the production copy, 3) complete web-based creation of apps.
  • Data loading and transformation capability and performance are far more powerful than PowerBI and Tableau. With PowerBI and Tableau you most likely will need an ETL tool when you are fully building advanced dashboards for many users.
  • Built on open standards, HTML5, Javascript, etc. Very extensible and embed-able. Vast open source libraries of D3 can be applied.
  • The depth of capability in the graphs/charts is improving, but not on par with Tableau yet.
  • Lack of wizards for creating some key features like accumulated totals, period-over-period analysis, etc. Note: the tool is fully capable of this, via chart formulas, but the syntax is complex.
Good for organizations new to BI. Evolves well with different BI maturities. Supports mixes of user types well. Excels when there are multiple different types of data and sources. It blends data together without batting an eye Less optimal for users who are firmly anchored in a traditional 'report mindset.' Like its competitors, you can't just 'build it and just hope it will be adopted'.

The Jessie Ball duPont Fund uses Qlik Sense Desktop to do more advanced visualizations and reporting from a secondary database of its primary business software, Fluxx Grantmaker. Fluxx has excellent reporting options with dashboards, ad-hoc reports and even an excel plugin to build excel reports, but sometimes our leadership wants a little more and that is where Qlik comes in for us. The desktop version is free as well, which has some limitations, but has worked well for us.
  • The desktop version is FREE
  • Very easy to configure detailed visualizations, lots of drag and drop functionality
  • Once apps are developed (apps are what QlikSense calls its reports) just about anyone can filter and run them.
  • Great for storytelling with data
  • It takes someone with at least SQL and basic programming knowledge for the initial setup and configuration of the platform. Qlik Sense uses its own scripting language, but it isn't too different from other languages.
  • You need to remember to reload the data using the data load so you have the most up to date tables when using a secondary database like we do.
  • Qlik Sense works with data in real time, so if you need to create a point in time snapshot, you need to build and copy a specific app you build for that purpose so you have that data frozen into a report.
If you have the technical know-how to build out Qlik Sense apps in house or budget allows for consulting help, this is a great tool. There really isn't a BI tool on the market where some programming knowledge isn't needed for setup and maintenance and I feel this is one of the easiest ones out there to get set up, running, and providing you with great data storytelling.

Qlik Sense is used across multiple departments across the whole organisation. [It's used for] Displaying daily performance and used in the analysis marketing campaign performance as well as sales performance. We have created numerous apps covering high-level summary reporting with the ability to create on-demand apps quickly and easily.
  • Handles large data volumes with ease. We currently have apps using 20m+ records.
  • The UI is intuitive and easy to use allowing the rapid development to display results in a coherent way.
  • Massive online community of users willing to help each other.
  • Large number of extensions available to enhance your app.
  • Comparison tool for alternate states is coming and is missing until November 18 release.
  • Although the UI is easy to use and visually pleasing it is a little too locked down at present. Limiting what you can do. This forces you to think in a smarter way when presenting data.
Analysis of marketing campaign performance and sales performance is quick and slick with Qlik Sense. It is very quick to respond to selection and easy to spot patterns in the data as well as potential trend changes. Linking in profiling data has enabled users to get a very strong view of the performance for different market sectors.

We have currently completed a 2 month evaluation of Qlik Sense, one of several evaluations in the past few years. It will be used eventually to provide Cloud access for Qlik Sense documents and on-premise for internal users to benefit from an update and more modern interface when compared with QlikView. Our company currently has had QlikView for about 8 years.
  • The responsive design for Qlik sense is excellent especially when you might not know what device will be accessing the site.
  • For developers they will benefit for the data manager which has features that will help them gain confidence in their data model and make changes easier.
  • Qlik Sense allows users to create stories that are powerpoint-like presentations. Because these are saved with the document it is easier to refer back to the source data when presenting to users. If you have ever been in a meeting where someone is presenting information from an Excel spreadsheet, is then asked a question and says 'We will have to get back to you on that one' , you will see the benefit of this feature.
  • Only promote features such as multi-cloud deployments when they are available for all customers to use.
Qlik Sense is an excellent product for analyzing and especially viewing your data on a variety of devices thanks to its responsive design. Qlik Sense also has many excellent features for managing and preparing your data. A scenario where you might want to consider using QlikView instead of Qlik Sense would be where you have a large number of reports that users require. At the present time in this scenario you might be better off using the container object within QlikView or deciding whether or not you can reduce the number of reports and still use Qlik Sense.

We are currently using Qlik Sense across two departments, IT and Finance. In IT we are using it to watch metrics of an eCommerce site we manage. In the finance dept, they use watch metrics in sales in general. The problems Qlik helped solve was the time it took to create some of the month end reports that finance, some would take weeks, and now with Qlik Sense, the reports are generated within minutes if not seconds.
  • They make it easy to understand, you don't need to be very technical to use it.
  • When you load your data into Qlik Sense you have a chance to make some tweaks to get it to match the model you are trying to achieve.
  • Their section access is also a very nice addition and works to allow access to either whole apps or only certain parts of an app
  • Something we have struggled with is getting Qlik Sense to load the apps into the web frame to be displayed on a regular HTML site.
Loading data fast, being able to drill down through your info and see all the related info along the way.

QlikSense is being used across the whole organization. It is used to do analytics on Bookings, Billings, revenue, Infrastructure, Sales etc
  • Visualizations available natively. Account and pre-sales team can build their own visualizations and analytics with data.
  • The amazing UI - provides a great experience while trying to organize data using dashboards. Having been a regular user for over a year now, the kind of things you can learn just by yourself on the fly is simply amazing. The dashboards also provide great flexibility with a lot of options.
  • Qliksense provides a quick and efficient way to scan data immediately and helps businesses make better decisions. Definitely, a must-have tool for all kind of Analysts dealing with millions of rows of data as it provides a simple yet powerful way to get business insights.
  • Advanced features need to be built as extensions, can be made available out of the box
  • Email Alerts can be made out of the box
Qlik sense June version has most features which makes it a fully fledged self service BI tool.

We are starting department by department but the idea is to deploy across all the organization. The main business problem it addresses is a lack of a good reporting and BI tools in our current legacy from one hand and to give us an option to combine data from several resources for better analysis.
  • Great out-of-the-box self-service analytical capabilities. Very intuitive to use and short learning curve even for a non-tech person (for basic usage). For more experienced tech/BI user, this tool can give "quick wins" (in hours!) for implementing reports that on other tools can take days.
  • The desktop version is free and includes all the features of the Enterprise version.
  • Qlik Sense includes a robust ETL capability (guided wizard and elaborated script language)
  • Qlik provides great training materials (webinar, help guide, forum and community) but those lack with re to the advanced features - i.e. how to develop widgets.
  • The cloud solution provided by Qlik, is currently not available for enterprises but only for small companies. You can still implement in the cloud, but it will need to be your private cloud.
It is well suited for implementing reports that need to be implemented quickly with or without a semantic layer. If you need responsive reports that can be reached from different clients (desktop, browser, mobile). Qlik Sense Desktop is less suited for a large distribution. For that, use Qlik Sense Enterprise. It is less suited for people that just want static PDF/PowerPoint reports and don't want to use the self-service. For that, you can use Qlik Nprinting.

Qlik Sense is being used by several business units to report and analyze data. We are analyzing project cost and quality metrics as well as implementation effectiveness, resource capacity, and cost management.
  • A rapid development of initial dashboards and reports, yet with advanced features to go beyond to quick and easy.
  • Qlik connects to many different disparate data sources and offers a Big Data cloud subscription to compare against global trends.
  • There is a self-service component that allows end users to modify existing or create new data visualizations as needed.
  • There is a learning curve to effectively use their proprietary scripting language. Would be great to be able to use more commonly known development languages such as SQL more interchangeably.
  • Would be nice for Qlik to bundle more visualization extension in their Out of Box experience.
If there is a need to bring multiple data sources under on app to consolidate and analyze data. Also, the app is applicable to a novice, intermediate and advanced user roles.

Currently using QlikSense across multiple B2B departments/media areas. With so many data sources both internal and external it allows us to knit these together to provide a seamless single customer view for our marketing and sales teams to exploit customer trends and opportunities and of equal importance is ensuring we maintain robust data protection rules with the new General Data Protection Regulation just days away at the time of writing.
  • Makes it very easy to dive in and get started with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface
  • There are some great built in geo tools that can help you do things like heat maps without too much effort - a nice improvement from there other main product QlikView
  • Great attention has been paid to the user interface to make it fast, easy and flexible to use and helps to give you confidence when using the product
  • Provides self generating code - for example creating calendar fields based on any date fields in your data sources automatically
  • If like me you were previously using there other product QlikView for years before dabbling with the newer QlikSense it has a very different feel to it that can make switching a little uneasy - the interface for example is completely different
  • It can be a bit fiddly to get some of the geoanalytics maps up and running with the need for sourcing external kml files from other websites for example
  • Some of the auto generated code is not as efficient as it could be and can lead to you needing to potentially want to rewrite it
If like us you have many diverse datasets that you need to either knit together or just make better sense of then you have great flexibility within the code to manipulate extremely large datasets very quickly. There is a learning curve to get up to scratch with the code though. Possibly not so well suited yet for rapid chart generation as available in main rival tableau but the gaps are closing.

Qlik Sense used in various projects within my organization, customers used mainly in transaction database which is updated on an hourly basis. Qlik Sense is very intelligent and smart it also computes faster with a high volume of data. It is user-friendly which allows users to analyze data in a time-efficient manner.
  • User Interface - Easy to navigate and play across the dashboard, its charts and objects are like floating things like a bubble which is well suited for an official purpose
  • Connect Different Data Sources - with the help of various connectors QlikSense connects Database like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etc
  • Security - It provides security in application level as well as data level
  • Cons - Qlik has two development tools Sense and View, the company can merge two products into one as new Customers finds difficult to choose between the products.
There is no such thing as suited scenarios to use Qlik Sense, it can be used where analytics is required on data.

Qlik Sense is a great product that fits well with any business. We use it as a BI Roll-out driven and managed entirely by a team in finance. From this platform, we are able to support sales, marketing, and even manufacturing while still maintaining control over the data and integrity of the measures and key indicators. It enables a team of 3 to provide analytics and self-service data to a business network of several thousand people. With write-back functionality, it also gives each department the ability to enter and maintain their own budgets and forecasts, saving us countless hours of managing that process alone.
  • The ETL layer within Qlik allows someone with no IT background and little knowledge of any programming languages to immediately fetch data and start using the tool.
  • The Data Loading script gives power users the ability to model the data they bring in to be maximized for efficiency and speed.
  • The Web interface allows us the ability to use custom URL’s to direct traffic into various different points of interest.
  • The license structure is bizarre. The use of tokens is very confusing at first but does get easier to manage the longer you are operational. Knowing when to name tokens or keep them un-named is very tricky.
  • More customization of color and layout/design aesthetics is much needed.
  • Price is a factor as well. It’s hard to see the value proposition up to senior management when Other Tools have a lower entry price threshold.
This is a great tool if you have several disparate sources and need to do some hands-on data blending. A challenge to use if you have data both in and out of the firewall, and operate in a highly secure environment. One of the best features of the tool is that you can spoon-feed users what you want them to see/use; it is definitely not a “build it and they will come” tool, you need to spend a lot of time up front tailoring what you are building to be highly successful.

We use Qlik Sense to keep track of sales information. We have pages set up for customers and we have pages set up for VPs. The tools provided by Qlik allow us to make tools that can be useful to everyone in the company.
  • The drill-down capability is awesome.
  • We love being able to effortlessly combine data from multiple places.
  • There is a sense of feature overload. And classes to learn about all the features can get expensive for the average user.
We have used it to allow people to look at sales data and to drill down and see where sales are being made the most or least. We found it was too expensive to use for reporting in our online applications.
