The vendor says their user-friendly iPhone and Android apps help employees easily access their schedules anywhere. Additionally, the vendor says the are responsible for scheduling over half a million employees around the globe.

Shiftboard is a scheduling tool for all customer service reps.
  • It shows the user exactly what time a meeting starts and ends.
  • It shows the user exactly what time a break starts and ends.
  • Searchable by group.
  • The whole layout is hard to look at. You need a graphic designer to give it a makeover.
  • Unable to see title or description of meeting or break until clicking into it.
  • Not very user friendly. You have to learn how to use it through instruction.
It works for its purpose but it needs a lot of work before I would recommend it to anyone.
I never sought out Shiftboard support.

Shiftboard is used across the entire Customer Experience department. The business problem that it addresses is that it is yet another tab that an agent has to keep open throughout their workday.

To make a better agent experience, it would be helpful if Shiftboard connected with their Google Calendar. This way our agents could receive reminders of upcoming breaks, lunches, meetings or any other scheduled times within their Shiftboard. It can also be hard to read when looking for specific times. I use this tool frequently to see what agents are scheduled for which channel support at what times and when their breaks are. It's difficult to have to highlight over a timeline to see when the break is, and it would be easier to highlight the timeline and see the entire scheduled.
  • It provides a good visual for those who are visual interpreters. This way there are able to see a timeline of their day and what portions of it are 'green' meaning they will be on live support.
  • It's very clear what channel they are scheduled for the day as it listed on the top of that event.
  • Shiftboard can be difficult to navigate, and when an agent bookmarks the tool it stays on their schedule for that specific date, often causing confusion. For example, mine is stuck on January 27th, 2017.
  • It's difficult to get to your specific schedule.
  • The overview of schedules within one week is also very difficult to read.
It's a great intro into a workforce management tool, but our use of it is basically as a calendar without it being linked to our actual calendars. It's just another tab that we have to keep open throughout our workday. It's great that we're able to see everyone who is working at what time and what channel of support, but I believe that there are visual aids that can be added to it to make everything much easier to read and more user-friendly.
We have not used another product like Shiftboard at our company.
I believe our agents are used to using Shiftboard at this point so they are able to navigate it. Our shift management team and real-time analysts are looking for a tool that is more in-depth with workforce management, like scheduling, queues, and more.

Currently, Shiftboard is being used for personnel scheduling of the two major departments at my TV Network. The broadcast operations and production team each consist of several hundred employees, full time and part time, who are scheduled on a variety of projects and shows throughout each day.
  • Mobile accessibility
  • Cloud-based software
  • Compliant with all necessary information security standards
  • No drag/drop interface for scheduling
  • Not highly customizable for a specific type of business/business needs
  • Needs more view options for users
  • Cannot adjust/edit shifts quickly (too many clicks/forms to accomplish)
Shiftboard is very well suited for service industries—restaurants, hospitality, etc. In those workplaces, Shiftboard should have enough ability for customization, and its mobile accessibility should be advantageous. For TV and other production environments, particularly those with frequent schedule changes, Shiftboard does not work as well, as it requires too many clicks to change a schedule.

  • Effectively catches any discrepancies between scheduled hours and actual hours for employees
  • Requires significant manpower to maintain scheduling accuracy
Similar to HotSchedules, Xytech and ScheduAll both are highly tailored to the TV industry, and better for our business, with Xytech as the best based on our evaluation.

Shiftboard is being used across a majority of our organization. Our organization uses it for scheduling staff across 60 sites. It allows us to ensure staffing minimums are met while keeping allowing staffing managers to communicate and increase the efficiency of our staff utilization. With this tool, our scheduling manager can see the schedule at all of our sites from one remote location.

  • The ability to print a month view of the schedule would be a great benefit.
  • The signup list is a great feature, but there are too many steps to make it easy to use.
  • The bulk add and delete process works well, but tends to be confusing for users.
Shiftboard allows staff to see their schedule and bid on overtime shifts that are available. This function is very powerful and helps our organization greatly. Our centralized scheduling manager is able to see every schedule in our organization. With this information, the scheduler can see which programs need help and is able to assist. This functionality has increased efficiency and saved us in overtime costs.
