Overall Satisfaction with 1&1

1&1 is our web hosting solution, registrar, and email provider. They are a dependable solution for us that enables us to present a website with almost zero maintenance time.

Pros

  • Their uptime is outstanding.
  • They have great customer support with real people.
  • They have all the technologies available I need to run my website.
  • Their dashboard is easy to use.

Cons

  • I wish they'd let you use other SSL providers.
  • There is no downtime so we appear dependable to our customers.
  • The cost of 1&1 is very reasonable.
Rackspace I find to be too pricey for the service they offer. Pagely is very much WordPress oriented. I've had downtime with both that I haven't experienced with 1&1.
I run five websites off of 1&1 for different outshoots of the company. For our web needs it works perfectly. We have a midgrade hosting package and it works perfectly. I know if issues arose from traffic or storage space 1&1 would have a solution for us.

    I recently had the unfortunate experience of using Ionos Web Hosting as my web hosting provider, and I cannot express how disappointed I am with their service. From start to finish, my encounter with Ionos has been nothing short of a nightmare. First and foremost, their pricing initially lured me in, as they boasted incredibly cheap rates. However, it quickly became evident that you get what you pay for. Within two weeks of using their service, my website suddenly vanished without any warning or explanation. This caused a major setback for my online presence and left me scrambling to find a solution. The real frustration began when I reached out to Ionos for support. Their customer service was an absolute disaster. I had to endure long wait times, being put on hold repeatedly, and even being bounced around between representatives who had no idea how to address my issue. It took over an hour just to get through to someone, only to be met with excuses and attempts to blame me for the website's deletion. To make matters worse, Ionos couldn't even provide a proper explanation for what happened. They claimed it was a fault in their system, but couldn't offer any details or assurance that it wouldn't happen again in the future. This lack of accountability and transparency is simply unacceptable. Furthermore, their attempt at compensation was laughable. They offered me a measly three months of free hosting as if that could make up for the countless hours of work, money spent on marketing, and potential business opportunities lost due to their incompetence. It's nothing more than a hollow gesture meant to pacify frustrated customers. In my 20+ years of working with various web hosting providers, I have never encountered such a level of unprofessionalism and disregard for their customers. Ionos has not only wasted my time and money but has also caused immeasurable stress and anxiety with their utter lack of reliability. I strongly advise anyone considering Ionos to steer clear. Save yourself the headaches, the lost business opportunities, and the sheer frustration of dealing with a company that fails to deliver on its promises. There are countless other web hosting options available that actually value their customers and provide reliable service, so do yourself a favor and choose one of them instead.
