Anaplan is an effective tool when multiple parties need to collaborate and get to a consensus number. It also allows for a workflow to be built into the planning process so that executives can have better insight into the planning process. Vast improvements have been made to the NUX , but there is still room to improve when working with incredibly granular reports or data with a large number of dimensions.

Using Anaplan

The tool does not require a typical software engineer to create a model or make enhancements. That being said the learning curve can seem deceptive as small changes depend on a solid architecture to begin with. While Anaplan customers can certainly manage their own models after go-live making significant changes or doing v2 type of releases may require help from external partners or hiring a dedicated Anaplanner.
