Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce

Dayforce is being used across all of our North American operations (and possibly internationally). We primarily use it for payroll, audit trails and electronically storing HR information. In Canada we also use it for time keeping and will begin shortly to use it for attendance.
  • As stated in the previous answer we utilize both the time and payroll features of Dayforce. This cross-function integration prevents us from having to import time data from another platform.
  • It also keeps all data on one platform so that it all flows between the different features and functionalities. For example, changing someone's time-sheet and then recalculating in payroll is intuitive and avoids going into another system to make the change and re-importing whole loads of time data.
  • The integration also maximizes attendance usage, as time data is tracked continuously under attendance and is adjusted with any time adjustments in real-time. This makes attendance and time flow between one another seamlessly and efficiently.
  • Dayforce's continuous calculation in general is a great capability of the system to make adjustments when they are necessary and see their effects immediately.
  • Payroll-complementing features such as report building, third-party remittance, organizational/job mapping for workers comp and year-end filing also work smoothly.
  • While I have been helped tremendously by Dayforce's customer support line, I think I would prefer if resolutions were made during that same call if business time allows for it for both sides of the transaction. While deferring resolutions through ticket logging is generally ideal, a call in might--generally speaking--call for resolution during that call, even if its not immediate. This would only apply to urgent issues of course and ticket logging through the support portal for less immediately urgent issues generally works just fine.
  • Without being in the director's chair it is more difficult to comment on ROI and cost savings. However, I can say that linking time, HR data, and payroll (and soon attendance) has lead to increased efficiency for reasons stated in prior answers and this has resulted in myself and my colleagues to complete payroll sooner and enabled us to work on other projects with more time and energy.
  • Continuous calculation has increased efficiency and productivity for the same reasons as stated/referenced above.
  • Cross-function linkage has also reduced errors and thus decreases time spent correcting and increased internal employee satisfaction.
  • Complementary features such as job mapping for workers comp and year end tax filing also smoothen many monthly, quarterly and yearly processes and enables users to spend time on other year end or monthly/quarterly responsibilities.
The ability to configure rules for just about any sort of automated or manual activity is a great tool to ensure collective bargaining agreements; provincial regulations and federal legislation (new or old) are complied to without the need for continuous manual modification. Rules are also intuitive to change and adjust for any changes or adjustments in any of these policies.
I can attest to the real-time productivity of the data across several functions, and can definitely say scheduling is made easier when the rotation feature is utilized.
Keeping all data on one platform makes it so that it all flows between the different features and functionalities. This and other aspects of the cross function integration (as alluded to in previous answers) saves time and is more intuitive in making all these different HR phenomena function and confluence alongside and into one another.
Great for cross functional integration and excels at payroll and features related directly to that aspect.
