Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce
Ceridian is used across our whole organization. It deals with scheduling, payroll, reporting, and recruiting.
Pros
- Comprehensive- A plethora of resources to learn when using the system. Tons of functionalities.
- Customizable to the needs of your organization.
- Ceridian's customer service support portal is excellent whenever you have an issue configuring something on Dayforce. They walk you through the steps or tell you where to find the answers.
Cons
- The reporting feature is difficult to use. Some times the fields you input aren't necessarily what you think they mean. You kind of have to do some trial and error to figure out what it's using on your system to generate information.
- It would be nice that when we hover over certain fields it tells me where it is pulling that information from.
- I love the recruiting module it helps me keep track of new hires and their pre-employment background checks with ease and doing their new hire orientation on the system saves to much time looking for lost files and paper! It would be great to show their pre-employment checks directly on their onboarding portal so that we don't have to send separate emails for employees to complete a background check.
- It has saved tons of paper.
- Helped us keep managers in line with compliance (for example, managers cannot conduct new hire orientation any more until HR has verified they have completed their required pre-employment background checks).
- Changes in pay/ employee status/promotions/terminations are easier to track.
It allows us to control the changes that come into our system. Data change forms that were once paper that came into stacks on our desk are all gone! We also used to have a data entry deadline where we manually stopped entring data for a certain period of time in fear that it would produce errors on the payroll. Now there are data gates in place so we can easily enter data as it comes and there is no deadline to enter data should something come last minute because the data gates will be closed during payroll.
It makes it easier to see across the board what other positions have been paid in the past and double-check with managers that they are providing fair compensation to all employees.
It has been so much easier and saves so much time. Managers are the ones that enter data changes into the system now and I just have to confirm and review and update. Before I had to manually enter everything by hand which left much room for error and I still had to scan and rename and file the form away. With this once a form is submitted it gets saved in the employee's submission history for me to be able to refer to.
