Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers

IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers provides a full dedicated customizable servers infrastructure. IBM has done a good job in simplifying the provision and setup of the Bare Metal Servers

Pros

  • High level of security.
  • Good performance.
  • The user interface and the speed of deploying are fantastic.

Cons

  • No option to define maintenance times.
  • The offering from IBM is a bit expensive.
  • The expensive offering from IBM is obstacle to get the business buy-in.
  • Moving the Investment from Capex vs Opex.
I didn't find any other offering that provides Bare Metal server with less than 6 hours. However, IMB Cloud Bare Metal Servers can be provisioning I way longer than normal virtual servers.
Provide a fully integrated platform. Reduce vendor management.
IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers is well suited when single-tenant and dedicated cloud servers are needed. Less appropriate for small organization with no enough skills to manage the infrastructure.
