Actionable Student Data at Your Fingertips - Become an illuminator!
Overall Satisfaction with Illuminate Data & Assessment (DnA)
The illuminate DnA software is a student data and assessment system used by our K-12 school district. It is used across the organization by administrators, teachers, and clerical staff. It allows users to create and administer online assessments, store state and local assessment results, and create custom reports for a variety of uses.
Pros
- It provides a comprehensive profile of students across time, allowing users to track growth and identify at-risk students.
- It is easy for all users to create ad hoc reports and assessments.
- The company is continually adding features recommended by users.
- The helpline is accessible to all end users, calls are readily answered, and the support staff is knowledgeable.
Cons
- It would be nice if it communicated in real time with our other student database systems. We have to do a nightly update to share information with other systems, and still, some data gets stuck and needs to be "wiped".
- The intervention tracking system, OnTrack, is difficult to set up and manage.
- Assessment item banks could offer a better variety of items.
- It has allowed teachers to utilize data to make instructional decisions.
- It has allowed administrators to evaluate instructional programs and make budgetary decisions based on student results.
- It has allowed the district to establish common expectations across school sites and has provided a level of data transparency.
- It has modernized our elementary grading and report card production.
Illuminate DnA offers more flexibility and additional features that our previous Data Director system offered. We were looking for a system that offered an online assessment portal and the ability to create elementary standard-based report cards when we selected the illuminate DnA software. We were impressed with the ability to easily create custom reports and liked the comprehensive student profile page.
