Overall Satisfaction with Linode

Linode is used by myself to host many WordPress instances for peers friends and colleagues. I also use it as a self-hosted DNS service.

  • More flexibility on email alerts.
  • Cross user spam reduction.
  • Easy to SEO.
  • IPs are not blacklisted.

I personally think Linodes is the best amongst cloud providers if you are looking for freedom, in my opinion, AWS and Google cloud offer too many focused services. With Linode, I can just spin up a virtual box without any leash attached another plus side is the network customization that the company offers such as reverse DNS, etc.
I have had various engagements in the past by phone by email or by the help page and all of these engagements have been helpful I never walked away frustrated like I did with Google. It was honestly very refreshing to see that someone answered the phone when I called.
I really like that Linode has a wide variety of selections i.e shared or dedicated. The offering feels like you have enough selection but it's not out of control like Google cloud or AWS they offer way too many choices and it's confusing.
I have only had one outage since I have used Linode and it was resolved very quickly. Uptime has been great!
I would really recommend Linode for anyone that wants a hands-off Linux box. I like that they don't force you into a container like AWS or Google cloud. The only scenario where I would not recommend Linode is if someone is too comfortable with AWS or Google cloud instances or otherwise has software integrated with their APIs.
