Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

We have been using MailChimp for the past 7+ years and it's been our most effective digital marketing tool by far! Currently, we use Mailchimp to send push campaigns across various segmented email lists in addition to utilizing it's automation features. Mailchimp has been a really affordable email marketing solution for us and it's been great as far as training new team members on how to use it.
  • Push campaigns.
  • Automation.
  • List management.
  • List signup.
  • Integrations with Shopify.
  • More robust out-of-the-box automations.
  • Cheaper pricing for agencies.
  • Easy to train new employees.
  • Low overhead as far as developing campaigns.
  • Very quick to implement a new account for new or existing clients.
We really liked Mailchimp because of their ability to customize the content in the campaign itself. The drag & drop feature has been a game changer for us because it's allowed us to have marketing professionals create quick and effective campaigns without needing a major amount of design resources. We evaluated a bunch of solutions and Mailchimp has continued to be the best one for our team.
The UX of MailChimp is one of the simplest ones that I've ever encountered in an email marketing solution. The drag and drop features allows our team to be super nimble when it comes to customizing our campaigns. This allows us to take fresh approaches to marketing/design concepts and quickly implement them without messing with CSS or HTML.
We've begun the process of expanding into their leadpages // Sign-up features. List segmentation is a huge part of our business so we're constantly trying to get better data and segment our customers & leads based on their interests. We've also begun utilizing their social media advertising capability in order to use a single platform. So far so good.
We've used Mailchimp to general a couple million dollars worth of business for both ourselves and our clients. Our team takes email marketing and email automation very seriously and Mailchimp has been a wonderful partner of ours in this process. The nice part of having a simple-to-use email provider is that it makes hiring and training new marketers & copywriters easier than if we needed to bring in folks who needed to pick up HTML quickly.
If you are just getting started out with an online presence, then Mailchimp is a great way to go. If you are just getting started with an eCommerce presence, then Mailchimp is also a great way to go. You won't really encounter many limitations with MailChimp until you start getting into large audience sizes and major eCommerce sales numbers.

Using Mailchimp

7 - Marketing specialists, copywriters, and graphic designers mostly. These are the people who craft the initial messaging and positioning, then it's the people that proof the campaigns, then ultimately there's someone who creates the custom imagery for the campaign.
5 - We have a robust software development team who is able to assist us if problems do arise. Most of the support is around custom integrations that we have to help with purchase data.
  • Email Marketing
  • Daily Reflections
  • Internal communication company wide
  • local target based event marketing
  • event triggered marketing
  • upsells and cross sells
We are very likely to renew our membership. For us, it's the simplest and most affordable solution that we maintain for our email marketing needs. It's something that we use every day for our customers and clients that we serve.

Evaluating Mailchimp and Competitors

  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
The single most important factor was the product feature that enabled our team to create and customize campaigns utilizing their drag and drop feature.
I think we would consider the event-triggered features and the marketing automation options.

Mailchimp Implementation

The implementation was really smooth when we first got started. We uploaded our leads that wanted to hear from us and we began the process of marketing and nurturing them until they became customers.

Yes - When we first started using Mailchimp there was no mobile interface. Instead, you needed to log in from a web brower to access the platform. Since then they have spend a great deal of resources to develop a mobile experience that helps out folks who are interested in developing their email marketing campaigns from their mobile device. I've used it and it works fine.
