Overall Satisfaction with Pixabay
When I choose an image, I can download it in small, medium, large, or even extra large resolution. This is important because, if I don't know what I am doing, I can lose quality when I manually resize images. It's also important to get an image of the right size. I wouldn't want a small image if I were making a poster, or a big one if all I needed was a small icon.
- I can copy, change, share, and use the images in any way
- All of the images are free of copyright
- If I click on one of the "sponsored images," I will be taken to Shutterstock's website. If I decide to download the image, I will still have to pay the full price. They should think about giving a discount to people who find their website through a Pixabay link.
- Once I create an account, Pixabay is too much like a social media site. I can send people messages, comment on their pictures, and have whole conversations about just one picture. I can see why they would want to do this—with Instagram and Facebook, there's obviously a market—but I don't think it's necessary. There are already a lot of social media sites out there. There's no need to add to the pile.
- I don't need to sign up to download images.
- I've found that search results are usually right.
- Available in 20 languages. Through its forums, it also has an active community.
- I can copy, change, share, and use the images in any way, even for profit, without asking permission or giving credit. That's good if you're just looking around for free images to use because Pixabay lets me do just that without too much trouble.
Pixabay gets around the language barrier by being available in more than 20 different languages.
The website doesn't have any ads. They do have "sponsored images" from Shutterstock, but I really like that there are no other ads.
When I download an image, I can choose from a variety of sizes, from web-size to poster-size.
It's very easy to sign up. I can sign up using Facebook, Google, Microsoft, or my email address.
With the "Explore" option, I can search using a variety of filters. "Editor's Choice," which is similar to "Featured," lets me see the best images chosen by Pixabay's editors.
