Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM)
We have been using Solarwinds IP Address Manager (IPAM) to manage our public and internal IP ranges for our data centers and branch offices, which are shared with several different teams. It works quite well to put everyone on the same page for the availability of so many different IP ranges of different locations.
Pros
- Share IP availability of all IP ranges with different teams
- Figure out location and purpose of each IP range
- recycle IPs for decommissioned devices
Cons
- It would be nice if the recycled/reused IPs will have the "history" records of their usage
- The ROI is pretty high for us considering that we have so many IP ranges that need to be centrally managed all the time
Comparing the HP OpenView, Solarwinds is much user friendly and easier to be used.
