Overall Satisfaction with Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager

We use Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager to our DR cluster services where we should have the data replicated between main and DR datacenters in order to be up-to-date and in case of some disaster we have all data replicated to the DR ones to have the Recovery Point Objective (RPO) as short as possible.
  • Replication
  • Reliability
  • Escalation
  • Possibility to be able to configure using a secondary link
  • vvrlink check output like 'top' command
  • Documentation
  • Works as expected
  • Reliability
  • Data Replication
  • DR Solution
  • Saving backup/restore time
  • Recovery Point Objective
  • Return of Investment
Due Company's strategy we selected Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager. Due to some strategy alignments, we choose Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager in order to have the replication to be managed by OS layer and not Storage one - where it's possible to System Administrators have the replication status and to check if everything is fine or not. If not the Sysadmin will able to try to stop/start replication from themselves.

Do you think Veritas InfoScale delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Veritas InfoScale's feature set?

Yes

Did Veritas InfoScale live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Veritas InfoScale go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Veritas InfoScale again?

Yes

As said before Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager is very useful for DR scenarios where you have your data up-to-date in another site/place where your Recovery Point Objective should be short - this is our case regarding some critical applications - and VOM is the best tool, in my opinion, to make those things happen.
