I use it for all my work logins, every single one of them! We manage content providers and advertiser accounts, for some sites, there are 20 logins. There are also services we only use occasionally, remembering the login details for those, or looking them up in an unsafe spreadsheet would be a nightmare. I even contemplated using it for my private logins and all my family accounts - despite having Google store them all, because Google stores them in plain text and I don't really like that

ObserveIT

  • Especially if you are working in the banking area, IT workers must use ObserveIT to provide more detailed evidence to audits.
  • You don't need to give a firewall permission to a client, you can easily do it by giving permissions to the ObserveIT server. By doing this, you will be able to understand why he/she needs this permission without asking.

Cons

1Password

  • Not every website or web app login page is automatically recognized by 1Password; because the product works so well in most use cases, it can be jarring when it fails to properly populate a form.
  • Because 1Password provides so many ways to interact with your secure vault of credentials, the slight differences in the various interfaces can sometimes be confusing -- the desktop version is slightly different from the web browser extension version, for example, and occasionally I find myself searching for the "generate password" button in the desktop interface because it's not where I expect it to be, given its placement in the browser extension version.
  • Sometimes 1Password is too eager to assist me; from time to time it has tried to autosave unnecessary form inputs as new login accounts. However, this is preferable to its "missing" new accounts upon their creation!

  • You need to make a better optimization work on its database servers. It may cause problems working itself properly.
  • After upgrading its agents, it may give some false positive alerts like "Agent not reporting" while it reporting.
  • Archiving technology must be improved. When you restart that appliance, it needs more tuning on it to make it right.

It depends on the our needs actually. Audit has big space on our environment, so we need to put anything infront of them clearly. ObserveIT makes it perfectly.

The 1Password app design is top notch, much better than a couple other password managers I've looked at. The app and service are very flexible, allowing for many different types of data storage. The browser extensions generally work very well, allowing for easy access to login information while using pretty much any modern web browser.

I haven't had a lot of issues with 1Password in the past, but I have browsed the 1Password support forums a bit when I have needed an answer for something. The support staff seems to be very responsive. They seem to respond to pretty much everything posted in the support forums.

Easy to access them, immediate response and huge knowledge make them nearly perfect. Also their supports have great sense of humour :)

At my previous company, we developed our own software, which was an utterly bad idea. Why re-invent the wheel, and do a bad job at it? We also tried saving things on chrome (Google) individually. We also tried Atlassian's Confluence at some point. That didn't work well either.

Forcepoint Insider Threat is a new product and also it supports DLP(we were using Forcepoint DLP), that's why we did trial of this. As I said before, it's a new product on this area and its support level were low, on the other hand ObserveIT vendors gave support when we had a problem. That was the key point on our decision.

Return on Investment

1Password

  • 1Password has empowered me to meet the stringent security demands of my organization without having to resort to complex, time-intensive encryption setups to store all of my various credentials. Instead of wasting time on building, configuring, and maintaining such infrastructure, 1Password manages it for me.
  • 1Password's annual subscription pricing model is reasonable, given a great deal of value, it has provided me, both personally and in my business operations. I don't need to invest capital into secure storage infrastructure to ensure that I always have my credentials at my fingertips, and I prefer to have a dedicated, focused security company own the hardware behind this great service.
  • The fact that I control my 1Password account means that I can get double the use out of it: personal and professional account credentials sit side-by-side in my secure vault. Because I do not need to rely on my internal IT department to provide access, I am confident in storing whatever I need to store.

  • As I previously mentioned about this, we were able to give more detailed evidence to the Internal/External Audit team. Audit teams were understanding all of the logs better.
  • A new feature with the newer version of it, like UEBA, we can find the riskier users by looking user's suspicious activities. This feature gave ObserveIT more credit on our bank.
  • Actually, there were no negative impacts on our objectives.
