Considered Multiple Products
Braze
Chose Braze
We used other providers before, such as Mailchimp. However, we believe that Braze does a better job of actually landing in the right place; our clickthrough rate spiked once we switched over to Braze.
Chose Braze
Braze is not a mailing platform so we can do cross channel campaigns. Plus, the creation of canvases is really easy thanks to their documentations and help. We have many way of personalization and also have analytic information to monitor our data and manage performances.
Chose Braze
I am not a CRM, mobile-CRM, or lifecycle marketing technology expert.

Braze is distinct from the other tools I have used due to the SDK integration and feature set specifically suited for mobile app product-led companies like mine.
Chose Braze
Braze offers stronger tutorials and more flexible personalization and targeting options compared to other platforms I’ve used. While other tools included some of the same features, they were harder to learn because of limited tutorials or confusing UX/UI. Many of them also used …
Chose Braze
Braze allows for a better ROI on emails sent and a better package of capabilities than what we were using with Mailchimp
Chose Braze
Braze is a cross-channel and data-driven tool. It is much more intuitive and easier to use. It supports a high volume of sending. Braze team provides excellent follow-up and support, and we are part of a large community of clients who share knowledge and help.
Chose Braze
Braze is a more comprehensive product with more integrated features.
Chose Braze
Usability, efficiency, and reliability are what we looked for….and Braze was the platform that most impressed our leadership and email staff.
Chose Braze
I would say Braze is far better in creaitng detailed and intelligent marketing journeys than any of the products I have mentioned. Intercom is primarily a support channel and so wasn't suitable for my use case, having limited features and requiring workarounds. Mailchimp is …
Chose Braze
More flexible, some rules were before on the tech team side and now with Braze, those rules can be changed without having to ask de tech team - we are more autonomous! Better channel orchestration and more available channels.
Chose Braze
Unlike MailChimp, Braze goes beyond just email and SMS as communication channels. With communication channels like push notification, in-app message, and content card, Braze is clearly a superior platform for customer engagement. Also, Braze offers more options for dynamic …
Chose Braze
Mailchimp is fine for bulk email and some light automation, but it still centers on email; push or in-app support feels tacked on, and new segments update only after hours. Braze gives us email, push, SMS, in-app, and web all native, with data streaming in real time, so …
Chose Braze
I wasn't part of the decision-making process for selecting Braze, since I joined the company after Braze was already "integrated" with our company. I'd still say that Braze would me my 1st choice compared to other tools that I used in the past.
Chose Braze
Salesforce is better suited for the sales funnnel or for B2B rather than B2C so in this case Braze already stacks up great as a wonderful B2C all-rounder product. Mailchimp, Firebase and others ive used are gragmented as they all offer different features and are not a ONE …
Chose Braze
Braze allows for more functionalities and opportunities to personalise the user experience deeper
Chose Braze
Braze offers a better service for the type of needs my company has. I was skeptical as it is also a lot cheaper than the other platforms that I have used in the past – but have not found any issues or hindrances to my work. Overall, our ROI is much, much higher using Braze.
Chose Braze
Better user segmentation and conversion data. Better integration with our tech stack.
Chose Braze
Braze was a newer solution that allowed for complexities and we had people on the team that were familiar with it, making for an easier onboarding and transition of the tool.
Chose Braze
Braze and SFMC are pretty close, but Braze hits the sweet spot with the amount of features it offers and price. Salesforce can be more advanced in terms of features, but is also more complex, and it is pricier.
Chose Braze
Up to date and modern day standards.
Continually improving functionality.
Great documentation.
Chose Braze
Every business is different, but in my experience, Braze has filled the need for the clients that are using it and they have done a masterful job of creating and continuing to update a platform that is excellent!
Chose Braze
We chose Braze when vetting (against Klaviyo + Iterable, and coming from Ortto) because we felt it was the biggest level up for us. It allows us to own cross-channel messaging in one place and we felt like it was the only platform that was truly going to level up our Lifecycle …

Braze
Braze is a fantastic tool if you're looking to build a large number of CRM journeys using complex canvas structures and maximising use of customer data to segment and personalise. There are numerous tools to ensure each channel is maximising impact and engagement. Braze offers great features for testing, managing message frequency and control groups and using dynamic attributes and liquid code. If you're looking to limit your use to single-send campaigns with no or few automations, I don't think this is the right tool. From my experience, many Braze users also use external tools for analytics rather than Braze's native analytics.

Bright Pattern has been fantastic in allowing us to automate voice and chat contacts, and we're currently building out scenarios that will allow us to automate even more. It's super simple to collect data from customers, and using some API calls provides the answers they're looking for without a human needing to get involved. There is less functionality currently for emails. Emails can be routed to queues based on keywords, and auto-replies can be sent, but it's pretty basic functionality. We'd love to see some of the enhanced capabilities offered in voice and chat scenarios for email.

For any E-commerce related needs, like you need to see a list of customers who have added products to cart but did not purchase, this can be done really easily, but if your e-commerce provider provides integration, then it is best suited. Most of the systems in the Market provide out-of-the-box integration. Their API is also very easy it can be integrated to any language. You can integrate it into your custom developed system and use the features, like adding customers to specific lists. Also, if your lists become really big, then their system can get a bit slow to respond via API, so you might need a strategy for how you are gonna fetch the data using API.

Pros
Braze
  • Canvas feature has been really good for creating customer journey paths and long-term messaging campaigns.
  • They have been addressing feature requests to continue to improve the Canvas feature. One of the simplest but most-handy features is allowing Delay steps wait for a very specific date on a calendar -- so you can plan seasonal campaigns or when you have evergreen-style drip campaigns it allows for avoiding public holidays/etc.
  • The catalog feature provides a lot of use-cases and flexibility for personalizing comms or customizing comms for whitelabeled versions of our standard comms (for our B2B2C scenarios).
  • We use the catalog as a repository of our B2B2C brand info, messaging customization - it basically allows us to offer a whitelabeled configurable version of our optimized automated in-life comms in the branding of our b2b customers.

  • Mailchimp allows you to manage your mailing list really well. You can subscribe people, unsubscribe people manage the mailing list directly into segments, and what not.
  • Mailchimp has features where you can create campaigns based on your mailing lists and send out newsletters to your subscribers based on a multitude of parameters that you can setup. Such as send email daily, weekly, monthly and they also have event based mails that you can send out.
  • Mailchimp also has a feature where you can design your emails. The look and aesthetics are very important when sending emails to your subscribers and all those needs are addressed here.

Cons
Braze
  • Enabling GIF/videos to be directly uploaded on to Braze's platform
  • Easier way of creating canvases; right now it is too complex for someone new who is starting off in the company to understand what things do and where things are
  • Ability to track duplicate user profiles within the entire audience segment
  • Automated deduplicating email addresses/phone numbers in each targeting segment; right now it's done manually after extracting csv files

It is an easy-to-understand platform, thanks to its design and accessibility. You can, for example, easily find any users and their data, check exact volumes of segments, follow the history of messages sent, and create reports. We can connect Braze with other platforms for analysis or email design (Snowflake, Hightouch, Stripo...).

It's pretty simple for agents to pick up quickly, it takes a bit longer for supervisors to get familiar with. QA tools are pretty barebones but functional enough. The interface is a bit complicated, and I need to spend some time to learn new functions and understanding how it works. It is always on. The only outage to date that I have experienced was with an upstream telco provider a few years ago. The inbound leg telco was hit by a DDOS attack which led to delays in routing calls to the platform. This was not the fault of the Bright Pattern platform but the telco provider. We have had a few minor carrier issues with call quality, or a handful of brief drops, but Bright Pattern is quick to identify these and change carriers when it starts to happen.

Very responsive and helpful on simple questions, but not great other than that. They do not have a way for the customer/user to escalate a ticket. You have to contact your rep and in some cases, they don't respond within 24 hours so you have no idea if they have escalated it. There is no phone number for an urgent issue - you have to rely on email

In-person and virtual training was great, but Bright Pattern could use some online training videos similar to other platforms. I would welcome online training videos to keep the steady flow of new agents up to date. Admin training is one of the largest areas that need video. The static documentation is great. It is pretty easy to follow and configure your contact center as you progress through each step. The documentation is available online on an easy to use knowledgebase or wiki style site. You do not need a user account to access the help docs, meaning that users at any level can freely access the materials to learn about the platform.

It's really well explained, there are lots of documentation about all topics. When we want to perform in a specific area, there are always a dedicated path. Also I used to do the certification which allows me to show my achievements in my business environment.

Online training is documentation based only. It is thorough and step by step, but no videos. It would also be helpful to have more information within the help docs on custom reporting. I find that many of the Bright Pattern specific configurations for the Jasper Reporting Server have to be "stumbled" across through existing report templates and they are not clearly listed out somewhere. In person training will not generally go into great depth on report customizations.

Mailchimp over the years I've used it has grown in leaps and bounds. They have added so many additional features than were previously available. They are truly an all-in-one marketing platform now. If you're a small operation and just want to add email to your marketing efforts, they're there for you. If you're a larger operation and want to start sending postcard advertisements, they can do that. If you'd good with that and want to kick up your marketing by going social, you can do that on their platform. They are truly able to be as small as you need, but also get quite large in whatever it is you'd like to do through their system.

  • One of my retail web store clients was sending out email specials and notices about once a month. After clicking the send button, we would watch Google Analytics and the current site users would light up immediately. Often, the current site visitors would pop up to 20, 30 or more after the email was sent. On a normal day, seeing 1 or 2 online users would be OK.
