If you need a managed big data megastore, which has native integration with highly optimized
Engine and native integration with MLflow, go for Databricks Lakehouse Platform. The Databricks Lakehouse Platform is a breeze to use and analytics capabilities are supported out of the box. You will find it a bit difficult to manage code in notebooks but you will get used to it soon.

Provide access mechanism for different set of customers Read full review Teradata is a MPP system and its capabilities allow [us] to process a huge amount of data with great performance since it works by the concept of nodes (amps), being scalable and offering great reliability about data recovering, massive processing managing, data backup, etc. Teradata Vantage integrates Python, R and other tools that allow [us] to work and develop complex Data Science wise processes. Teradata is extremely efficient and it has lot of utilities to support extraction from different source systems. Read full review Cons Connect my local code in Visual code to my Databricks Lakehouse Platform cluster so I can run the code on the cluster. The old databricks-connect approach has many bugs and is hard to set up. The new Databricks Lakehouse Platform extension on Visual Code, doesn't allow the developers to debug their code line by line (only we can run the code). Maybe have a specific Databricks Lakehouse Platform IDE that can be used by Databricks Lakehouse Platform users to develop locally. Visualization in MLFLOW experiment can be enhanced Read full review Teradata is an excellent option but only for a massive amount of data warehousing or analysis. If your data is not that big then it could be a misfit for your company and cost you a lot. The cost associated is quite extensive as compared to some other alternative RDBMS systems available in the market. Migration of data from Teradata to some other RDBMS systems is quite painful as the transition is not that smooth and you need to follow many steps and even if one of them fails. You need to start from the beginning almost. Last but not least the UI is pretty outdated and needs a revamp. Though it is simple, it needs to be presented in a much better way and more advanced options need to bee presented on the front page itself. Read full review Likelihood to Renew

Because it is an amazing platform for designing experiments and delivering a deep dive analysis that requires execution of highly complex queries, as well as it allows to share the information and insights across the company with their shared workspaces, while keeping it secured.

It has helped our project to save time, effort and give accurate results in the quickest possible time. The diagnostics feature is also outstanding giving us a detailed report of the error which occurred, when it occurred and the likely cause and resolution of the same as well. The support of SQL is inherited which makes it easy to work on it because you don't need to learn any new language for this.

One of the best customer and technology support that I have ever experienced in my career. You pay for what you get and you get the Rolls Royce. It reminds me of the customer support of SAS in the 2000s when the tools were reaching some limits and their engineer wanted to know more about what we were doing, long before "data science" was even a name. Databricks truly embraces the partnership with their customer and help them on any given challenge.

We have meetings at the beginning with the technical team to explain our requirements to them and they were really putting in a lot of effort to come up with a solution which will address all our needs. They implemented the software and also trained a few of our resources on the same too. We can get in touch with them now as well whenever we run into a roadblock but it's very less now.

Databricks has a much better edge than Synapse in hundred different ways. Databricks has Photon engine, faster available release in cloud and databricks does not run on Open source spark version so better optimization, better performance and better agility and all kind of performance boost can be achieved in Databricks rather Open source synapse spark

The problem with this tool and all other ones that are at the top of the industry, it's so expensive that soon as another one will be on the market and deliver the same or different value, it will be catastrophic for them. So you get the fact that they are cashing every dime right now like SAS or Hadoop once did. Now, look at them

Again, another level of professional services, this is not their biggest strength but this is the cherry on top. I couldn't think about any other professional services like this one. Now I'm talking about meaningful services that really help out our project and delivery.

It also enabled a level of analytic competency that was not achievable using other options on the aggressive timeline that was required. We didn't want to settle for reinventing a wheel when we had a super tuned performance capable beast readily available in Teradata.
